Some Dare Call It Conspiracy

Deep Dive • The Turner Diaries (2/2) With Greg Hall

Listen Later

Hello Initiates, and welcome to Some Dare Call It Conspiracy. In this episode, we continue our Deep Dive into The Turner Diaries, turning our attention to the second half of the book and the escalation of its violence, paranoia, and conspiratorial thinking.

As the narrative intensifies, the logic becomes even more unhinged. We examine how the book attempts to justify mass murder and terrorism, blames “the media” for public resistance to violence, and leans heavily on conspiracy claims to explain why its worldview fails to gain widespread support. The racism and antisemitism are pushed further to the foreground, alongside some truly staggering leaps in reasoning.

We spend time unpacking one of the book’s most infamous claims, that feminism inevitably leads to the legalisation of rape, and use it as a case study in how grievance, fear, and misogyny are woven together into something that pretends to be ideological coherence. Rather than treating these ideas with solemnity, we dismantle them with critical analysis and irreverence, exposing how brittle and self-defeating they really are.

Throughout the episode, we draw connections between the book’s rhetoric and the language still circulating in far-right online spaces today. With insights from Greg Hall and our own lived experience, we reflect on how these narratives persist, how they adapt, and why confronting them openly and confidently still matters.

Some Dare Call It Conspiracy is an investigative podcast hosted by Brent Lee and Neil Sanders, examining conspiracy culture from the inside out using lived experience, research, and a distinctly British sense of humour.

Some Dare Call It Conspiracy is an award-winning podcast that examines conspiracy theories, misinformation, and moral panics — not from the outside, but from the inside.

The show is co-created and hosted by Brent Lee and Neil Sanders, both former insiders in the conspiracy world who spent years immersed in conspiracy belief, alternative media, and grassroots activism before walking away. Their experience gives them first-hand insight into how conspiracy narratives are built, why they feel so convincing, and why leaving those communities can be difficult.

Drawing on lived experience, deep research, and expert interviews — alongside a distinctly British sense of humour — the podcast breaks down conspiracy culture with clarity and bite. Episodes vary in format, but all focus on who benefits when misinformation spreads, how harm is done, and how bad ideas gain influence.

The result is a show that is sceptical without being smug, serious about real-world consequences without losing its edge, and unafraid to call out grift and power where it thrives.
