In today’s devotion, Pastor Kent reflects on the father’s urgent instruction in Proverbs 4: “Get wisdom.” Before money, status, opportunity, influence, or success, the child of God must pursue the principal thing: the wisdom that comes from God.
Wisdom is more than intelligence, education, or common sense. It is the ability to see life from God’s perspective, to fear the Lord, to follow His Word, and to walk in the truth revealed fully in Christ. Without wisdom, even good opportunities can become dangerous. But with wisdom, life is rightly ordered before God.
This episode calls us to pursue wisdom with discipline, to sit under the Word, and to pass on more than survival skills to the next generation. A godly legacy is not built on tricks, shortcuts, or personal success stories, but on teaching our children how to live wisely before Almighty God.
