Maria was abused sexually within her family, which led to sexual promiscuity. That ultimately led to abortion. She felt that suicide was the only way out of her pain, but an unexpected phone call stopped her on her way to commit suicide. Shawn and his wife entered marriage with abortion wounded hearts. He coped by working all the time. Their marriage never got better and ultimately ended. After several years of counseling, he was told about Deeper Still retreats and that they were for men, too. He attended his retreat in the Spring of 2024, and his life was forever changed.

Shawn's life changed forever when he found his Mom cheating on his Dad. They divorced when he was 12, and his life changed forever. Years of instability followed, and he ultimately was drawn to an unhealthy relationship, which led to a pregnancy they were not prepared for. That led to an abortion decision, which led to even more dysfunction.

Kelly is a physician's assistant with a heart for those with an abortion wounded heart. Her experience with patients gives her a unique view of how abortion impacts women and men and also how it may impact healthcare practitioners who have made referrals for abortions.

Mindy received healing with every encounter with God and the opportunities she took to serve and to receive. She found a deeper sense of healing at her Deeper Still retreat, especially as she saw how the men also grieved the loss of their children to abortion. She now has an online post-abortion ministry called An Even Place.

Mindy did not have any spiritual foundation and ended up in relationships that were not healthy. After one abortion, she told herself she would never have another one. Unfortunately, she got involved with another man who did not want the baby when she got pregnant again. This ended in another abortion, which led to more dysfunction and yet another abortion. She was full of self-loathing and lost. 

Dawn got some wonderful healing at her first retreat, but she had difficulty receiving all that God had for her. She was able to receive more of what He had for her at her second retreat. God lifted so much weight off her shoulders and she is ready to begin helping other women, as God leads.

Dawn was following in her Mom's footsteps, without even trying. She went from one unhealthy relationship to another and ended up having two abortions. She spent years trying to overcome the pain. She found Jesus and started to be more responsible. The healing process was gradual, but God kept working in her life.
