The conclusion to the Batman the Animated Series retrospective has finally arrived. Scott and Dylan run through the last third or so of the show before giving their final best and worst picks, along the way talking about Riddler moons, Jim Gordon being the worst cop, more Clayface body horror, Penguin employing toilet terror tactics, the longstanding relationship of Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, Batgirl kicking ass, Ra's Al Ghul's horror roots, the return of more Greek stereotypes via stupid Maxie Zeus, Larry David as The Ventriloquist, the bizarre but earnest Batman & Robin Cartoon Maker PC game (watch here if you need to understand the madness as well as lose two minutes of your life you'll never get back), and Batman: Vengeance.

Scott and Dylan are back at it in part two of the Batman the Animated Series retrospective. This time around, they're discussing the Scarecrow's Biff Tannen inspired criminal ploys, the king of incels, Madhatter, all of the stuff in Shadow of the Bat #1, if Batman is the true villain, questionable interrogation methods, Joker getting under people's skin, Bullock's strange insights, how NOT to do Catwoman, Batman's greatest foe, the shaggy dog, crazy Hugo Strange, big stan for Frank Gorshin, the island of Dr. Bat Furry, and why everyone doesn't want to be a giant bat.

Dylan and Scott are teaming up to do what any pair of 30-year-olds who grew up in the 90s would do: a Batman the Animated Series retrospective. In the first of three parts, the Discursive Duo dive right into it, elaborating on how nobody in Gotham City knows how to design a helicopter, Rupert Thorne's uncanny ability to escape jail time, the origin of "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells", give some much deserved credit to Shirley Walker, Gotham's wild west, Two Face's shining moment, Penguin's bird shit debut, rebranding Mr. Freeze, Bruce Wayne's terrible taste in clothing, defend the Grey Ghost, and Joker's terrifying station wagon.

It's an Ernest extravaganza as Dylan does a deep dive into the namesake of the one and only, Jim Varney, with I Hope You Suffer's Nathan Sizemore as his spirit guide and resident Ernest expert. Together they tackle the history of Ernest, Jim Varney's acting chops, questionable children's camps, Rube Goldberg machinations, the mystery of Ramses, hot and sexy Evil Ernest, as well as the enigma of Jeff Tiedrich, Fred Durst's meth tattoos, and eventually just wind up talking about Batman a lot.

It's been a long three years since Dylan spoke with his college roommate, Jason McConnell, so obviously the catching up had to be done as a podcast. Jason recounts his complicated move to China from NY and then off to L.A. to begin his career in animation.
