The Eucharist is the high point of the Mass.  We recall how unworthy we are to receive the Blessed Sacrament, and ask God to forgive us of our shortcoming and fill us with His grace.  We ask for the prayers of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and they ask the same of us.  Paul is trying to tell the Corinthians that we are in this race together, and is beneficial and necessary that we help each other as a family.

While on Earth he did not appear as a man, nor was He a spirit that possessed man until the point of the crucifixion as the Docetists and Gnostics would say.  From the time of His conception in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary he was both fully God and fully man.  This was stated by many church fathers, declared at the Council of Nicea, and at the Council of Chalcedon this became known as the Hypostatic Union.  Jesus was not either or, but He has BOTH a human nature AND a divine nature.

The prosperity gospel is popular, but there is a small problem.  It is false and not the gospel at all.  It is idolatry masquerading as Christianity.

Sometimes I think we treat prayer like something that has to be checked off everyday, something done as a last resort, or treat God like a cosmic butler.  Let's take time to not only say words, but to listen.

To often we ignore the Genealogy of Jesus.  They are filled with names we can't pronounce, but they are very important.  It contains so much truth about who Jesus is and what He came to do.

The other day I was talking with someone and he said "I have messed up so much.  I have to fix my life before I come to Jesus".  If we are waiting to be perfect before coming to Christ none of us would ever come.  Today he says to you like he said to St. Matthew "Follow me".

To often as Christians we tend to neglect the books of the Old Testament.  Some see it is a listing of rules and regulations that have nothing to do with Christianity, but the Old Testament is quotes over 300 times in the New Testament.  Having knowledge of the Old enhances our knowledge of the New.
