Defiance

In the Premier Episode for Season 2 of Defiance, Dinneh tackles the concept and history of race and policing in America and how it ties to money and greed. This week, Derek Chauvin is found guilty on all charges, Black people can be oppressors too and the racial elements of classism.

In relationships, things can get tricky when there is no clear communication. It is important to have a good understanding on what labels are attached to a relationship. We go through a text chain between two people in a relationship/situationship and discuss the outcome.

Uzo was the perfect guest for this moment in time. Election season is over. The path forward still is not clear. We talk about politics and social issues, giving our unfiltered hot takes and discussing the outcome of the election. We also explain some of the thinking behind our political voting choices and touch on what we should expect and demand from our government as we brace ourselves for new leadership.

The times have found us. It is evident, except you choose to ignore it. Our sincere hope is that this episode serves as a dose of therapeutic reality and even more so as a call to action. There is so much going on, and in a very peculiar time, it is up to us to look inward, voice our opinions, and be about that action on the issues we are dealing with right now. Onward!
