Mark 1:29-39

With the arrival of Jesus the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. The question becomes—“How is God’s kingdom going to advance?" Mark gives a 24 hour snapshot of Jesus advancing the kingdom through healing, prayer, and preaching.

Mark 1:21-28

Royalty with authority. This is what we have with Jesus. He's the One with the ability to speak words, and He's the One with the necessary power to carry out His words. In short, King Jesus is royalty invested with absolute authority in His words which is good news for all.

Mark 1:14-20

"Follow me." Clear, concise. Drastic and Disruptive. This is the call of King Jesus. The good news of God's kingdom compels discipleship, calling us to forsake everyone and everything in order to follow Him.

Mark 1:1-13

Who is Jesus? What did he come to do? These questions are central to Mark's gospel. In short, Jesus is the King sent to die on a cross, and right from the start of his book Mark invites us to come and wrestle with these questions.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

What does is mean to act like a man? There are cultural perceptions of masculinity but to limit manhood to mere cultural examples would be to miss the mark of what defines true manhood. It’s not until we ask the question of the Bible that we begin to find examples of true manhood which reflect Jesus Christ, who is the crux of what it means to “act like a man.”

Psalm 119:81-88

The hard side of suffering requires our dependence on God.

Psalm 119:65-80

God gives suffering as His good gift not only to draw us to His Word but to also make us a witness before others.

Psalm 119:33-40

Fact: there are times when we struggle to desire God, His Word, and His ways. As the psalmist wrestles with this reality in his own life he will show us that when we struggle to desire God, God has the power to give life by changing our desires.

Psalm 119:1-16.

God's happy people are those who walk blameless in the way of His word. God’s word is sufficient to not only guard our way when we are prone to wander, it’s also sufficient to fortify us to fight sin.

2 Corinthians 12:1-10

If there was ever a calling in this world which exposes weakness, it would be the calling of motherhood. But far from weakness being something we should avoid, Paul argues that weakness is to be our boast. And this truth has huge implications for motherhood.
