Dennis grew up a gear head in Indiana. He attended Nashville Auto Diesel College before being drafted into the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, where he worked in vehicle maintenance/repair. In 1989, Dennis met a man named Jim who was building wiring harnesses (for conversion vans). They teamed up to build a universal wiring harness suited for hot rods. Over time, as the product line expanded beyond just wiring harnesses (into switch panels, EFI solutions, accessories, etc.), the company name was changed to Painless Performance Products to reflect the broader offerings
