In the talk I omitted to tell you where the reading is from, namely Matthew 5 v 27-32.

John 20:19-31

1. Speak about what you are going through

V25 Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it

2. Join in community

V26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them

3. Find a greater revelation of who Jesus is

V27/28 Then he said to Thomas, put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe. Thomas said to him my Lord and my God.

We return today to the sermon on the mount and to what the ghost said to Hamlet "Murder most foul." How can the sixth commandment apply to me today you may be thinking. Jesus with His accustomed incisiveness does just that very thing.

A happy Easter to you all. What could be happier than our Lord dying and rising for us? What Jesus achieved by dying was and is magnificent. I hope this talk "Jess goes out for a walk" will broaden and deepen our understanding of the Cross. And lead us to worship.
