  • Ep: 26 Core Values, Identity, & Self-Comparison

After a long, much needed break Psych-ubus, Slamwise Gamgee & I return with a fun, deep dive into our core values, development of our identity, and comparing yourself to others! Psych uses her counseling background to set the groundwork for self worth and why people compare themselves to others. Grab a pen, paper, follow along and take this episode at your own pace!

Psych-ubus is a professional counselor and community support case manager in the Central MI area. Psych currently has her limited license and graduated with a Masters two years ago from CMU. She works with a variety of clients, but predominantly works with trauma and anxiety.

Slamwise Gamgee is a Special Education Teacher at a Center-based school in Clare, MI. She obtained a bachelors in Cognitive Impairment and English for Secondary Education from Central Michigan University. Slam will soon be going back for her masters & works with students aged 16-21 that have moderate cognitive impairments

Both Psych and Slam are members of Central Michigan Mayhem! Check them out at home this season! Jan 18th, Mar 7th, Apr. 25th, & June 6th

  • Ep: 22 Game Day Luminescence
Often forgotten but the foundation of derby as a postcard, score keepers and head officials are the Northern Lights to the derby community because without them the season doesn't coalesce.  Listen in as I chat with Florence Fightingale & Rink Rolled about their best practices being the HNSO & Score Keeper of Northern Lower Michigan.  We've included some helpful links below to get you up and going!
Link to the scoreboard wiki that has installation and best practices https://github.com/rollerderby/scoreboard/wiki
Link to the scoreboard Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/derbyscoreboard/
You can pick your own keyboard layout, but this is the one Rinky uses. http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/gists/29c4ef49c44bbffb60eef938e474cd8d
It is good for touch typers because you can use it without having to look at the keyboard. You can also remember start and stop as G for Go and H for Halt.
The beautiful photo of the aurora borealis in the cover art for this episode was taken by none other than Rink Rolled, our scorekeeper and man of many talents!
