In the early morning of Halloween 1980, a 24 year old nurse was cutting through the area of Brandon Hill in Bristol on her way to work at the hospital. She found a man lying face first in a pool of his own blood. This man was Derek Grain and he had been beaten with a sand filled traffic cone. Derek's murder is still unsolved today. On April the 12th 2002, 71 year old Les Bate left his local pub The Maltsters Arms in Chapel Amble in North Cornwall. He went on his usual route to the farm where he lived close to the village. His family discovered his body 2 days later. Les had been murdered in his own home. On September the 7th 1974, 30 year old Tom Hewitt had been at his garage on Bright Street in Bury. At around 11:30am, a co-owner of the garage turned up and found Tom with severe head injuries. He later died from his injuries. In the early hours of the 14th August 1982, Gurcharan Singh Landa or John Landa as he was commonly known was stabbed 87 times in the taxi that he drove in Nottingham. A huge investigation was launched with a witness even seeing the murder take place however since then his murder has remained unsolved. On the 27th of August 2020, suspicious bin bags were reported floating in the River Stour in Sudbury in Suffolk. The bin bags were found to contain human bones and this person was named the Sudbury Man.
