Caponigro holds a BA from Barnard College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She lives in the Bronx with her husband, David Steinberger, and their two children, Sofia and Stefan. Their homes have been published in House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Veranda, domino, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.

  • EPISODE 65 - BECKY SHEA

Becky Shea Design (BS/D) is a leading NYC-based full service interior design & lifestyle studio specializing in organic modernist principles across our luxury residential projects and custom, artisan crafted furniture & home decor.  Unlike most interior design studios which rely on architects for design elements and drawings, we control and design every single detail of the custom homes we build and renovate, inside and out.  From all custom millwork, vanities, windows and door details, down to the grout color and vegetation surrounding you, we holistically create spaces thoughtfully considering how each element symbiotically works together.  Our design philosophy is rooted in our deep appreciation for embracing nature’s energy in a sustainable, timeless way that evokes a sense of welcoming calmness & peace. BS/D’s signature use of muted, organic textiles, and layered natural elements paired with industrial materials like steel and concrete, define our studio’s ethos. When coupled with our obsessive desire to ensure functionalism is not lost, the end result is a truly beautiful, yet practical, design that will stand the test of time.

  • Episode 62 - Jean Brownhill

After earning an Architecture degree at The Cooper Union, Jean spent a decade working in architecture and construction. Her own challenging renovation inspired her to transform the opaque construction industry and create the first modern renovation experience that is transparent, efficient and personal. Sweeten (as in “home, sweet home”) launched in 2011. Today, Sweeten has nearly $1.5B of construction projects in the pipeline. The two-sided marketplace brings trust, transparency and technology to a $400B industry, creating the end-to-end standard for the renovation experience. Sweeten has been called a “Renovation Game-Changer,” with Jean hailed as “The Contractor Whisperer” by New York Magazine and one of Inc. Magazine’s “Most Innovative Women Founders in America.” Jean is a Loeb Fellow from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, where she co-founded the African American Student Union (AASU), an organization supporting African Americans in architecture, real estate and urban planning. As a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute, she recently launched SAW (Sweeten Accelerator for Women) to help female contractors build their businesses. Most recently, Jean was recognized by Goldman Sachs as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2020 at its Builders + Innovators Summit.

    • EPISODE 58 - BROOK PERDIGON

Everything starts in our studio, where we paint sketches, hand-carve blocks or hand-cut stencils before transforming each pattern into an original fabric design.

Screen printing historically evolved from stenciling, and we likewise progress from analog methods to modern techniques, hand-screening our fabrics on 100% Belgian linen and digitally printing our wallpapers on vellum or grass cloth.

We see through the lens of California’s landscape, which inspires our spectrum of painterly colors. We’re based in Los Angeles, where we print our fabrics, and we’re represented by showrooms across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
