Our Story: We believe the positive legacy of every human being can be realized with great coaching. Most of us are not developing the kind of legacy that allows us to be as happy and intentional as we'd like to be. We think, speak and write about developing personal life legacies so others can see a way forward with ease and possibilities. If the path to your legacy is defined and developed, you will be able to experience more freedom, fulfillment and satisfaction. Our Mission Statement: Developing a holistic legacy is not yet an endeavor to pursue for most people, even if it could be a vision ‘one day’, which sometimes makes people feel overwhelmed and with clay feet. We wake up every morning and pave a way for "new legacy conversations" so more people can take personal agency in designing their lasting legacy. Our Theme: If the bridge to a personal legacy is made clear, more people will be able to cross to the other side and design a legacy filled with meaning and their values. - If you’re not a client yet, here’s your invitation to schedule your consultation and book your first session online today. • Legacy Insights with Andres Ospina of the Family Office Club
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - Andres Ospina, Managing Director of Family Office Club, introduces the listeners to the concept of a "family office” and highlights the features family offices offer. Family legacies will be best protected when the next generations understand the history and hard work behind the business that created the wealth. He shares the difference(s) in generational heritage that seeks to instill pride into the nextgen's in their last name and bloodline whereas "new wealth" faces tax challenges. Many individuals would like to be acknowledged and remembered. Andres highlights the question of “what type of legacy do they want to leave behind?” For many of affluence, they prioritize the values of family (human capital) as well as wealth preservation. For coaches and advisors, Mr. Ospina emphasizes the importance of being in partnership with these family’s legacy visions, so their future legacy aligns with past successes. When the two areas of family and business entangle, friction can increase exponentially. For this niche of society, family business members and those of wealth face additional hurdles - they need to maintain a public face while having to navigate many difficult conversations. Obviously an individual or family worth $200M has unique needs, challenges and dynamics, compared to $2M. For Andres, his personal legacy involves sharing spiritual lessons connected to business. He would like to bring more peace to the world by putting diverse situations into perspective. He expresses how valuable it is when we can admit we do not understand the person sitting across from us – this level of honesty pushes us to ask better quality questions. Salesmanship is understanding another human being in their problems and challenges. In designing his legacy, Mr. Ospina honors his values around: • acknowledgement (a form of love and respect); • curiosity in learning with an open mind; • humility (in suppressing his ego when learning); • keeping an open mind as he takes new risks; and • living outside of his comfort zone. --- About Legacy Planning(c): There is an empty space between financial planning and estate law where a co-active coach can expand the conversations around your holistic legacy planning. • Give Permission For More with Cynthia Loy Darst
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - What if the information from your "Inside Team" needs to be expressed for better partnerships, relationships and ... ultimately, your holistic legacy? Cynthia Loy Darst is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, a Certified Relationship & Systems Coach and one of the first eight to receive the designation of Master Certified Coach (MCC) from the International Coach Federation in 1998. She is also a Senior Course Leader for both The Co-Active Training Institute and CRR Global (The Center for Right Relationship). Cynthia was a founding member of the International Coach Federation, and has served as President of ACTO (The Assoc. of Coach Training Organizations). Mrs. Darst is the Author of Meet Your Inside Team – How To Turn Internal Conflict Into Clarity and Move Forward With Your Life. Her book is required reading for the EMBA program at Loyola Marymount University where she is a frequent guest speaker. Check out her TEDx Talk: Safe Inside Yourself. Cynthia personally defines legacy as the “lasting impact” she has had and will have with others she has helped to grow, mentor and coach over the years. She speaks to the vulnerability when one is out in the world, and asks “how do you hold both the praise (acceptance) as well as the rejection?” Why does the subject of 'legacy' matter? It’s personally important to her because she stands on the shoulders of giants who have given her foundation around ideas to formulate more creativity and thoughts to build on what they began. Now that Cynthia feels safe within herself, she can create her legacy without it needing to be a certain way. Cynthia brings in the concept of introjecting as it relates to bullying or the next-gen’s response to “command & control” styles in business and management. In her words, “it’s a different ballgame today” as relationships are being acknowledged for their role within private and public companies. --- About Legacy Planning(c): There is an empty space between financial planning and estate law where a co-active coach can expand the conversations around your holistic legacy planning. • Actualized Leadership with Dov Baron
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - Can respect, curiosity and actualized leadership shift your legacy? How do we measure money compared to value, and what is the difference? Today, we are pleased to invite Dov Baron, the Dragonist, to our “Legacy Series” conversations. Mr. Baron speaks about his perspective of how dragons protect what is most valuable to them while having their hearts fully exposed. Dragons stand up for their principles and are consistently self-examining. With 30 years of coaching and advisory experience, Dov makes distinctions in the differences between values and maxims in knowing what we are operating out of. Mr. Baron also explores the worst advice leaders are given as well as the three (3) most dangerous words, then offers his best advice as a remedy. Dov states great coaches can call their clients out on their choices and behavior, while having their back because they care. Dov grew up admiring the concept of the American Dream. Now, he looks around and extends a challenge to leaders to commit themselves to conscious compassionate capitalism. While cognitive diversity makes him smarter, he blows through the concept of an “open door” policy; “barriers of power” cause individuals to protect dysfunction and perpetuate their own powerlessness. Mr. Baron states the power differentials destroy the truth in the ‘sub-cultures’ creating the ‘culture’. Or in his direct question: what is the precious lie you tell? Or in his insight of how people can give themselves permission to not grow up, in avoiding each opportunity to get honest about their environment or levels of denial. When leaders commit to doing the inner work, they can trust themselves to be more hands on in aligning and honoring their values. In developing other’s legacies, he emphasizes the power is with three groups that have an opportunity to create the future. Tune in to this engaging chat as Dov shares his top values, what legacy means to him and the connection to actualized leadership. • What They Don't Tell You ... For Your Legacy, with Shirley Chock
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - It’s just not right how some existing businesses run, where profits are more valued than people. What if instead of ignoring and turning a blind eye to a “dog eat dog” corporate culture, we instead talked about solutions and a different business model? In this "Legacy Series" conversation, I chat with my dear friend Shirley Chock. Shirley was raised in a family business and graduated with her Bachelor's of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago. She enjoyed a 20 year career in finance and administration, including a short work life at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. During this time, she also began training under Grandmaster Aiping Cheng and in 2006, became the U.S. Women’s Tai Chi National Champion. Over the course of her career, Shirley realized her Tai Chi training was instrumental in helping her manage workplace stress, conflicts as well as associates. In 2012, she was named “Working Mother Magazine’s Working Mother of the Year for Yale University”. In 2017, Shirley became the owner of Aiping Tai Chi Center, southern Connecticut’s largest Tai Chi school established in 1996 by her mentor. She is speaking today in the capacity of one who trains women around stress and conflict management. Mrs. Chock's perspective is that of a Tai Chi martial artist as it relates to redirecting force, momentum and energy. We talk about the concept of “fairness”, identifying ‘allies’, what makes a group gel together as a team compared to when a woman feels she has to prove her “worth”, recognizing the cycle of chasing other’s approval while disappearing from one’s own soul, the importance of a healthy corporate culture as an environment to grow, the realities of this world, how corporate cultures can be changed by the work force and how the element of water can be strong enough to break down walls. Trigger warning. Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - What can we learn from a former member of the British Royal Marines about crisis preparation? When crisis first arrive, many individuals go into panic mode and the affluent retreated to their country homes... though alcohol & home gym equipment sales increased, people realized how quick the landscape could change and how unprepared they were with: Water, Food, Fire, Shelter, Signaling/Comm, Hygiene/Medical, and Personal Safety. In this podcast, Angelina Carleton speaks with Toby Cowern about survival psychology. He highlights having the will to live or something to look forward to, even in the design of your legacy. When we can de-escalate our fears, it is easier to de-escalate other’s panic known as re-calibration methods. Toby points out how we are better when we can address and overcome any self-delusion to how we might act when the stress (“chemical hijacking”) does arrive. We discuss hate, villains and the playbooks on populations as it relates to trend analysis. While we can buy into tribal identities, it can come with self limitations in expanding what’s possible. When questioned about his beliefs, Toby pleads the “Swiss” in his silence in being able to blend with the baseline so as to not stand out. There are times when one can speak their beliefs and other times, place them on hold or be very quiet about them. He states that when we “other” others, we are getting played though we also have to realize other people will “other” us in the “good guy” syndrome. In holding fear “of you, for you or from you”, all of these actions are going to be based on that level of dehumanization. Yet when people hold “preconceived” perceptions of the problems I or another can bring, things can escalate very quickly. --- About Legacy Planning(c): There is an empty space between financial planning and estate law where a co-active coach can expand the conversations around your holistic legacy planning. - When professional coaching can an asset to your legacy planning – in bringing your ideas to life - because plans do not develop and execute themselves by intentions alone - retain your Legacy Planning© advisor at www.DesignUrLegacy.com. - If you’re not a client yet, here’s your invitation to schedule your consultation and book your first session online today.
