Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - *What if the greatest luxury is to live and pass on your personal legacy of integrity? It's not about the end. It's about the journey. It's the conscious efforts to work hard, work smart, and hold a vision that allows you to achieve your life's legacy. Did you know that 2/3's of UHNW individuals are self-made and thus, view the subject of legacy differently than those whom inherited assets? Did you also know that about 80 million Americans live alienated lives? For Mrs. Jenny Barnett, she was raised by her single father who served in the US Marine Corps; on three occasions, they were homeless and often hungry. Yet, her father negotiated her entry into private schools growing up. When Jenny went on to complete her bachelor's and master's degrees, she realized her pain and struggles were not isolated just to her. As her graduate studies increased her awareness and knowledge, she wanted to share her journey to be in service to society - so others, such as the NextGen, can know they are not alone. In this thought-provoking podcast episode, Jenny speaks to the value of consistent self-care as well as her commitment to better herself as a way of life. Leveraging the power of the pen, she commenced her writing first with a blog and then, a memoir set for publication in 2022. As she can now understand the many moving parts to life's paradoxes, Jenny aspires to speak in grade schools and universities about her insights to help others broaden their perspectives. We hope this true story inspires you to define, develop and execute your legacy. Our Story: We believe the positive legacy of every human being can be realized with great coaching. Most of us are not developing the kind of legacy that allows us to be as happy and intentional as we'd like to be. We think, speak and write about developing personal life legacies so others can see a way forward with ease and possibilities. Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - Ronnie Maina is the Director of TBM, a family owned ICT business based out of Nairobi-Kenya (Africa); he's a NextGen who has made it his mission to help steer the family business through the current succession phase. Ronnie Maina sets the scene in the year 1967 when his father, the founder of his family business, left his agriculture village to move to the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi, Kenya. As Kenya has over fifty (50) tribes, Ronnie’s father had to assimilate with the city landscape as well as the newfound corporate lifestyle as an IBM executive. Ronnie states “Fear can bring out that real commitment and drive in a person in their seeking out the real challenges!” His father studied electrical engineering and was influenced by his travels as a “Big Blue” IBM Managing Director. Yet while he kept close relationships at the company, the day of business politics arrived and he was pushed out. Fortunately, he had learnt much and in 1991, Ronnie’s father commenced their family business. In 2010, Ronnie was in the capital city of the DRC (Democratic Republic Of The Congo), running an ISP with 40 employees. After receiving a call from his father, Ronnie returned home to Nairobi to help run the family business. Beyond the best structure(s), Ronnie and his family also looked at what keeps a family business in tact for 200-300 years in staying power. Ronnie hopes his legacy will be the transfer of principles, practices and values from the founding generation to the future successors. He also wants to bring all aspects of the cultural norms forward in his family tree. • A Legacy Of Passion and Style with Robyn Blaber
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - From royalty to aristocrates, the Chateau Versailles has hosted many events over the centuries. In 2011, Robyn Blaber enjoyed his first costume ball at the palace and 18th century fashion inspired him to explore the re-creation of the garments worn during that period. After Robyn attended his first couture formal function and enjoyed the experience immensely, he brought his closest friends each year thereafter. Mr. Blaber then wanted more options than what the dozen costume shops in Paris offered. Thus, he began his journey of discovering how he could create 18th century fashion himself. Artistic expression is a big deal for Robyn: “at the end of the day, you have created something – everything you take for granted had to be created by someone … some of the greatest things in life are things that someone had a passion for”. Each dress or jacket requires about 15 meters of fabric and he begins each piece with a specific friend in mind. In the past decade, Mr. Blaber realized he created products in the software industry for others who then owned the intellectual property. He had little to no control over his work products and they became obsolete in 2-4 years. However, his 18th century fashion hobby became a passion. One might say he commenced a tangible legacy with his fashion collection of 20+ dresses, men’s jackets and other specially designed pieces. The greatest joy he finds is having a friend premiere his latest fashion piece. He is living his values through his tailoring skills so others can be transformed by his art. Robyn states “you are given one life … participate in that life in creating, contributing, involving people… you need to be a part of this world.” Mr. Blaber ends this podcast episode by highlighting his latest men’s jacket, a piece of over 850,000 stitches, and a statement that his only regret is not starting 18th century fashion sooner. In closing, he emphasized his artistic expression fulfills his personal legacy. • Legacy Stories: The Good, Bad & Your End Result w/ Bryan Mitchell
Book your Discovery Session today at www.designurlegacy.com/sessions, the ultimate resource to help you define, develop and execute your holistic legacy plan today. Lock in your spot at www.designurlegacy.com/consultation. - For some entrepreneurs, their drive causes them to be so focused on their short-term survival -- they forget to design a legacy upfront for their long term thriving. Or they feel they have so much more time in that metaphor of how 'the days are slow but the years are fast', in the illusion we will be here forever. However, with this procrastination, you become like a library book in that once you are gone, so too is your knowledge … a book never to be read again in being able to pass on your wisdom. So how do you live into the present while projecting out what you would like your legacy to be? First, your legacy will be a collection of your actions during your lifetime. Second, you will need to set aside a certain amount of time to help guide that legacy to success, to get to that next point in excelling at your core values. Think of it this way: Designing your legacy requires planning and upfront thought leadership. Write down your vision statement and ideal obituary, with the strides you’ve made. How can past pain serve your legacy? In this week’s episode, Angelina Carleton speaks with financial planner Bryan Mitchell. Bryan highlights how a loss is four times more impactful in one's memory and how we should have the uncomfortable conversations in the needed shifts around patience. If you are ready to start designing your legacy, Bryan shares his top 5 insights from what he has learned over the years, both from the sports world as well as the passing of his parents and their priceless advice to him about happiness. Today’s episode will have you take a break to think about your holistic legacy, even if it feels like you have an infinite amount of time. Bryan can be reached at: [email protected]. - Mr. Mitchell is an Industry Advisor for Purdue University’s School of Technology and a member of the Richard Lugar Renewable Energy Center. In his spare time, he is building a NeuroScience Leadership curriculum to improve employee performance and improve corporate culture. --- About Legacy Planning(c): There is an empty space between financial planning and estate law where a co-active coach can expand the conversations around your holistic legacy planning. Developing a legacy is not normally a conscious endeavor, even if could be an end goal, which sometimes makes people feel directionless and overwhelmed. We wake up every morning and pave a way for "legacy design" so more people can live a happy and satisfying life.
    Our Theme:
If the bridge to a personal legacy is made clear, more people will be able to access the other side and experience a happy and satisfying life.
