    Mary Jane Charles
Thank you, Gloria Grace it's so nice to be here. Nice to be back, I should say.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Yeah. I'm going to say a quick prayer to the internet gods that we're going to have good signal today because as we're recording this, it is a little Mercury in retrograde, but it's all going to work out. So I'm just going to trust because now you look beautiful again, it was a little fuzzy, but now you look gorgeous. I love to start off the interviews asking our guests about the journey that got them where they are today. And, and for you in particular, I know it has to do with this becoming this last wishes facilitator and what prompted you to actually write your book. So I want to, would love for you to be able to share that story with our listeners and viewers today.
    Mary Jane Charles
So thank you for this opportunity to just share what I learned on the job, so to speak. It was one day we've all heard. Life can change on a dime and we shrug, we say, oh, I know, I should do this, I should do that. Well, I'm here to say it can change on a dime, and it did for me. My husband, eight years ago, was not well. He would not go to a doctor. He consulted Dr. Google. In any case, he wanted to see a partner. And I said, I will drive you, because he was too weak to drive. And we got there, we were in. The parking lot and I looked over. Tell him to say we're here, and he had died.
He died literally in the car seat next to me. I knew he had been ill and I knew he was fading before me. But it was still quite a shock, as you can imagine. Within a half hour, I was sitting. In the Er waiting room and a Doctor walked out to me and said, do you have his final papers? Meaning his medical directive. Well, previously that morning, I tried to coax him yet again to please sign. The medical directive for the State of Washington, where I was living at the time. He said, absolutely not. I'm not signing that. I realized that I had the medical directive in one hand, I had my phone in the other. I said, Would you let me read it to you, yes or no? Questions and video you at the same time? And he nodded. He consented. Holy cow, I had it. Within 20 minutes, I read the questions in a yes or no manner and he either shook his head or nodded. Boom. Done. No way on God's good earth did I think I would have to use this. 4 hours later, I gave the phone to the doctor. He was blown away, asked permission to take the phone and show it, I'm sure, to whoever his boss was, to make sure it was all legal. And that's how we started this journey. Just like that. When she got home, you were numb. My son and I, thank goodness he was 28 and could drive. I drove. I think the car drove itself, actually. And the very next day, I found myself in an attorney office with the eldest stepson. He had arranged this meeting with a man I did not know. He could not get my name straight. It's only Mary Jane. And he was telling me what I would be doing. His father had yet to be gone 24 hours, so at this point, I was annoyed. I don't know why. That preceded everything. I thought this isn't right. And I let the man talk more. And I stood up. I said, well, thank you for your time, but this meeting is over. And all the men in the room, there were three of them. They're looking at each other. Not in a moment did anyone look at me to speak to me, the wife, they were among. It was like a good old boy set up or something. I sat back and folded my arms. I said, I think that's enough, and I'll be leaving. And I got up and I thanked him first time, and I left. And I simply told the stepson that I would be obtaining my own attorney that would be after the funeral. And it went on from there.
The frustration I felt the following week with all the piles of things and no will, no instructions, no partner papers. Within a short period of time, I got tired of saying, I don't know. And I changed it to I'll get back to you. I'll get back to you on that. And that's a great phrase. When you are being hounded or set up or whatever phrase you want to use, you can alter it with your tone of voice and body language. So keep that in your pocket. I'll be back to you. I looked around my dining room table. It looked like a war room of old You just needed that big stick to move the ships around. And I decided that's a chapter. That's a chapter, and that's a chapter. And that was the beginning of my book.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Wow. Number one, I'm just sorry for your loss, and especially then, sorry for everything that came after that. I mean, to be treated like almost like a second class citizen, because with your stepson and these attorneys and forgetting that, yeah, you have big stake in this. He was your husband. But I wanted to know. It's so hard to I can only imagine not knowing. There's so many things you have to do when someone dies. You have to deal with. I'm sure you had a house. You've got to deal with that. There's bank accounts, there's credit cards, all of these health insurance. All of these things that you have to deal with. And so was it then your experience that for whatever reason, your husband didn't really want to put any of that information somewhere where you could be able to get it? So what do you think was the biggest frustration or maybe the biggest hurdle that you had to overcome when you were dealing with the aftermath of this and trying to be organized?

Namaste. I am Gloria Grace and I really am delighted to welcome you to another edition of Live Love Engage because we're going to be talking about a very cool modality that is very, very helpful, actually, one I experienced just a couple days ago as a matter of fact. But we'll get into that in a minute. I'm going to leave you in suspense. But if you're new to the show here, I just want to introduce myself a little bit more so I’m known as the Light Messenger and I'm a spiritual alignment coach and women entrepreneurs hire me to clear the inner blocks, keeping you stuck so you can put yourself first and live the life you want now. Not later, not tomorrow, but now, for heaven's sakes. And I am so glad to have our guest with us today. Her name is Monique Verpoort and she is a registered social worker and a certified practitioner in the modality of Emotional Freedom Technique, otherwise known as EFT Tapping. And not only that, she's an author as well of a book called Is This All There Is? Living a life beyond obligation. And I just realized I want to ask her about that as well, but I know we're going to be talking about EFT a lot. She's also worked in the field of children's mental health for close to 20 years. So without further ado, I'm going to bring Monique on and officially now welcome you to Live Love Engage.
    Monique Verpoort
Thank you. So happy to be here.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Well, I'm very interested in having you on the show to talk about EFT because I realized I've been doing this podcast now for over three years and I… of all the different modalities and guests we've had on, I don't think I've had anybody talking about EFT. And I, as I mentioned, I was on a networking event actually the other day and the host of it led us in a session. But I'm not going to say any more, say anything more about that. But I want to let you sort of, first of all explain to our listeners and those watching on YouTube what got you interested in it and then you can probably explain a little bit more detail about what it actually is.
    Monique Verpoort
Exactly. Sure. Well, I got into this probably about twelve years ago. I was actually looking for something. Was doing a Google search while I was at work and on EMDR, which is an evidence based modality as well that is typically using eye movements to work with, to work through trauma traumatic memories. And one thing led to another and then I landed on this thing called EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques and started reading testimonials about what this was. It really intrigued me because everything I read was just it almost sounded too good to be true. People were reporting these major transformations from living with traumatic experiences and just having lives full of suffering and all of a sudden they were using this technique and they were living this great life and overcoming whether it was physical challenges or emotional challenges, what have you. And so I thought, oh my gosh, there's got to be something to this. So I started experimenting with it myself. And sure enough, I thought, okay, this is really interesting. I'm actually getting some relief on a physical level, but also on the emotional level. That was sort of the beginning what piqued my interest. And then I actually had sort of a major life event that involved a close relationship. And there were some issues around betrayal that just kind of hit me over the head. And I was just really at a very low point. And I started using the tapping. I actually went to a practitioner to work through this. And it was incredible. Sort of the results I was getting through that with this practitioner. And I said, you know what? This is too good to be true. And it wasn't just me. I was witnessing other people that were in this program. Well, actually, I'm jumping ahead. I decided to get certified in it. And I was noticing people in the program were getting similar results in the moment and it was just, it blew me away. Gloria. I thought, this is just incredible and I need to learn how to do this and I need to be able to help people with this. And that was sort of the beginning of it all. And it's served me really well over the last decade.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Wow. Well, I'm certainly glad that you did get a lot of benefit out of it. And I've done it a few times, but I'm not sure. I guess perhaps I haven't done it enough consistently. I suppose like anything, it's probably that the more you do it, the better results you probably have in the long term. But I want to, before I'll have you maybe address that, but could you maybe explain a little bit about the theory behind it and how is it that people are able to get such good results? Because it's called tapping. Like I said, I know kind of what it is, but I'd rather have someone like you who's an expert, explain to our audience. For those of you out there who haven't heard of it, what exactly is it and how does it have that, create emotional freedom? That's the way to say it, right?
    Monique Verpoort
Yeah, for sure. Well, I think the easiest way to conceptualize what this is is acupuncture without needles. It's a form of acupressure. In the same way, if anybody's familiar with, well, acupuncture, we know that there are specific targeted acupoints along the body's meridian system, which are energy circuits that we can't see with the eyes, but we actually, we know they're there. And acupuncturists have known this for a very long time. Three to five thousand years is typically what you read when you look into the origins of this. It was really a form, it is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that includes, you know, one aspect is this acupuncture. So it is by actually massaging, rubbing or tapping, hence the name tapping. EFT tapping. What we are doing is we're tapping on those acupoints where there is stuck energy. And so we know this energy. What is that? Well, it's our life force that runs through us when we're in this body. It is also emotions that get stuck in the tissues, the fascia, the nervous system in the body. And when we can apply this pressure to these Acupoints, typically in EFT tapping, we stick with sort of the head and the upper part of the body. We can actually release that stuck energy at those points that have accumulated to enable this free flow of energy through our bodies. And the belief that the Chinese have really passed on in terms of how this works is that optimal vitality is really when we have our energy flows that are unimpeded, that run through the body, and then we have optimal health in terms of the functioning of our different biological systems, respiratory, digestive, et cetera. And so it is a form of a sort of release of these points. So that is the, by and large, the sort of the overall picture of this.
    Gloria Grace Rand
I appreciate you sharing that. Now I want to get to sort of what I was hinting at before is because I feel I've done it and gotten some relief in the moment, but I haven't been a consistent practitioner of it. So do you find and have you found this even with your own personal experience with it and maybe with clients as well, that,...

You're listening to the Live Love Engage podcast on today's show, why self love is crucial to healing from a breakup. Stay tuned. In this podcast, we share practical advice from a spiritual perspective on how to live fully, love deeply, and engage authentically so you can create a life and business with more impact, influence and income. Welcome to Live. Love. Engage.
Namaste. Oh, welcome, welcome regular listeners and viewers of Live Love Engage as well as those of you who this might be your first time. If it is, I am so glad you're here. And for those of you who might be joining us for the first time and you missed the intro, I am Gloria Grace, the Light Messenger, also a spiritual alignment coach. And I really love helping women to pursue their dreams and to be able to live their best life now. And today's guest is going to, falls right in line with that because that's a bit about what she's about as well. So I'm going to bring her on in just a second. But let me tell you who she is. She is Tal Yardeni and she is known as the breakup recovery coach. Having gone through her own heartbreak and being on the other side of it, she is super passionate about helping women let go of their ex, learn to love the F out of themselves and be ready for their best relationship yet inside of her group coaching program, which is called the Breakup to Badass Formula. I love that name, by the way. So I'm going to, without further ado, bring her on to the show. So welcome Tal to live, love, engage.
    Tal Yardeni
Thank you. Thank you for that wonderful intro and thanks for having me. Gloria, I'm excited to speak with you.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Well, I am too. For those of you who have been, for instance, possibly listening to this for the last year, you may have noticed occasionally I have brought up the fact that I am separated at the moment from my hubby, who is a wonderful guy. Wonderful guy. And it's time. It's time for a change. Let's just say it that way. I'm going to leave it at that for the time being. So I know my story, but I want to know your story since I sort of alluded to it a little bit, having gone through your own heartbreak. So what was it about that that really did kind of catalyze you into this new movement of being this breakup recovery coach?
    Tal Yardeni
Yeah, great question. So this thing called the pandemic happened, I don't know if you've heard of it might have been affected. And so prior to that, for 13 years I lived in New York and I was a performer, I was a singer and an actress doing my thing. And during that time I had gone through a series of what I like to call hot mess express relationships. And during the pandemic I really had the time to reflect and take the time to look and see what were the patterns there and why did this keep showing up in my life and to be able to do some of that really deep healing. And also I had to see what I was going to do career wise because my industry had shut down. So it was so interesting. A few of my friends kept saying, life coach, life coach, life coach. And that had never come to me before, but I really sat with that and I felt like that I was led to that. And so I looked into certification. I got certified as a life and relationship coach. And then when I was thinking about who do I want to work with specifically? I got the idea I want to work with women who are going through a breakup or a divorce. Because I have lived that experience, and I know how painful that is. And being on the other side of it and how I got myself there, I had wished that I'd had something that I created. Now I wish that I had had that for myself then. So I knew that it would be super useful because when we're going through something, I really do believe it's one of the most painful things you can go through in life. And when we go through something like that, you feel so alone. You feel kind of like you're on your own island. And so I created this program because I wanted women to know you are not alone in this. We tend to shame and blame ourselves so much when we're going through something like this. And so I wanted women to know you are not alone in this. There is a way to move through this. This can be something that grows you, even if it is freaking painful. And I wanted to have a safe space so that women could do that. And go through that.
    Gloria Grace Rand
That's wonderful and so needed and just trying to think here because there's a couple of different ways I want to go, I want to ollow up with this and my mind is going blank. So I'm just going to skip on and just ask you about because you had lovingly sent me some notes about it because I just am having one of those days. So brain fart. I think they call it lovingly.
    Tal Yardeni
    Totally okay.
    Gloria Grace Rand
So what does a spiritual practice have to do with your breakup recovery?
    Tal Yardeni
Yeah, that's a good question. So, so many times we think that we can fix it. We want to be the ones to fix it, to make it right. Where do we go from here? When you understand that there's something bigger than you running the show, you can stop relying on you and kind of put the brakes on and surrender it over to a power that's greater than us. When you understand that and you understand your oneness with this power, it's life changing and transformative in so many ways because for so much of our lives, we're trying to figure it out. How do we do this? How do we get to the next step? We're fixers. And so when we allow for a power greater than us to lead us. And to show us, it can really put you in a state of awe. Because if you for so long tried to control your life, you see that the controlling isn't working. And so it doesn't mean that we become complacent in life, but it means that we're asking for guidance. And when you're asking for that guidance, you are going to get clear direction and clear guidance. And you've probably gotten it all of your life, but you maybe haven't been connected to it, so you didn't know to trust it.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Yeah, and I can relate to that tremendously because was, where I wasn't paying attention to it and now from where I am now that I do lean on source, God, universe, whatever you want to call it, I tend to default to God because I was raised Catholic. And even though I'm not practicing it anymore, that's still the word that's most comfortable to me. And in just reflecting from my situation that I've gone through the last few years, that really leaning into connecting with God, spending a lot of time in meditation, that has helped me tremendously to be able to manage dealing with things like, okay, number one, asking my husband for a divorce. That took… It took me well, technically years that I was sort of daydreaming about it. But then when I finally made the decision, it still took me another year to actually go to and actually talk to him about it. That sort of is getting me now, I think, to where I was trying to go originally. What have you found to be the biggest challenge that people going through a breakup face?
    Tal Yardeni
Acceptance. That I would say is one of the biggest things when I'm coaching women. Acceptance of self. Acceptance that it's over, and acceptance of who their partner was because what happens is that when we tend to break up or get a divorce or a separation, we start to romanticize that person, which means that we look at just the good parts. And it's not about villainizing your ex, but it's really seeing your ex in his her totality. There were things that weren't working....

"Trust is vital, but it starts with yourself. You've got to cultivate self-trust, being able to know that you've got this, you can do this." - Gloria Grace Rand
As a solopreneur, I learned early on that it’s nearly impossible to do everything myself if I want to grow my business successfully. One of the reasons why I struggled had to do with trust – which is a key component in building a team. Trust allows employees to feel safe, take risks, and collaborate effectively. As I explain in the podcast, growing up with an alcoholic dad made it challenging for me to trust people. Entrepreneurs who experience trust issues can also be influenced by societal expectations and a lack of self-confidence.
    Key takeaways from this episode:
Trust is vital in building a successful business and allows employees to innovate and collaborate effectively.
Trust issues can stem from personal experiences and societal expectations, but can be overcome through self-reflection and self-confidence.
When hiring team members, it is important to clearly define job descriptions, communicate expectations, and assess alignment with company values.
Effective communication and vulnerability are essential in building trust within a team.

    Dr. Betsy Holmberg
Hi, Gloria. I'm so excited to be here.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Oh well, I'm… I love learning about the brain, learning about how the mind works. And so when I saw you, I was like, oh, yeah, we're definitely going to have you on the show today because I think it's so important for us to be able to understand how our minds work so that we can live fully, love deeply, engage authentically, which is what my show is all about. I know we're going to get into this tribal brain, but what got you interested in it I'm curious to know, with all of your expertise that you have, what led you to focus in on this particularly?
    Dr. Betsy Holmberg
Well, it actually came from a kind of rough experience. So I was in the process of getting divorced. My husband had walked out on me in less than two years of marriage, and I was told by the lawyers to essentially do whatever is asked, whatever he wants, allow, because judges are pretty quick to make assessments of women that were withholding or were upset or were doing something. So I did do that. And yet somehow his lawyer had framed something little, just who drives the kid where as me not stepping up. And the judge turned to me and said, you're not doing enough to support your relationship with your ex and his son. And something in me just snapped. And I felt like, okay, the only way I can get an A plus in this situation, the only way to do the right thing in this situation is to actually kill myself. Because if I kill myself, then he gets all the time. He gets all the time, right? And so I called my parents and I told them this, and they immediately flew out, which, now that I understand the neuroscience of the brain, was the best thing they could have possibly did. So we all lived together. I went on antidepressants and got help, and I got through. But three years later, I was still… I just wanted to get off my antidepressant and feel that I had healed from this divorce. And so every time I tried, the voice in my head came back saying, you can't do this. You're not good enough. You can't have a job and be there for this child in the way this child needs. You're a bad mom. You can't do this. You can't do this. You can't do this. And I then kept going on antidepressant thinking that's the thing keeping me going. And I will be damaged forever now. And I just wanted something more for my son than this. I wanted him to have a better life. And so I thought, enough is enough. I need to find out why I am so broken. Like, why am I so damaged? And it wasn't in the trauma literature. It wasn't in our standard therapy literature, which I'd done in graduate school. And so I went to the more current neuroscience and learned essentially the neuroscience of our thoughts and why we think these awful things to ourselves. And so that's how it came to be.
    Gloria Grace Rand
So tell us a little bit about why do we think these thoughts? Because I know it is common. I've heard statistics where they said, I think number one is like, what is it? 80% of the thoughts we think are the same thoughts and that we're also sort of hardwired in for negative thinking as well. Tell us a little bit more about this.
    Dr. Betsy Holmberg
It's interesting because people have been talking about this forever, and the most recent ones who have taken the world by storm are Eckhart Tolle and Michael Singer. And they talk about how our thoughts are crazy and we shouldn't be listening to them. And they use their own personal experience to explain why. And I love those books. I love all of that work. And every time I read it, I feel like, yes. And you feel, you just immerse yourself in what that life would be. And you're like, this is so cool. And yet I never could hold on to it. It didn't feel real because my thoughts felt like they were helping me. They were helping me figure out how to go about my day and be a good parent and a good employee. So what I realized in this is the literature, this is the neuroscience of what Eckhart Tolle is saying and what Michael Singer is saying. And essentially, it's that we don't have one thought network. Our thoughts don't just come from us all the time. We have two. And the first network is what you think. It's the ones that you're choosing to think. But the second network is a survival system. And it is just think of it just like your stress system and how you get stressed when you're in danger. And it's your body's way of trying to protect you and keep you alive. These thoughts are a survival system that looks at the norms of the clan. This all developed back when we were cavemen. And so it's the norms of the clan and how to fit into the clan. And as long as you follow that, you will survive. You will stay a part of the community. When you don't follow that and you get kicked out, then that is death, too. So these two systems operate very similarly. And what we have been mistaking as ourselves for all of these thousands of years is actually a survival system. And that just blew my mind.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Yeah. And some of the learning I've done well, I would say it's the spiritual growth that I've done, I've realized. And it's something I write about in my book, is that whatever you believe, God, higher source, the universe, whatever I believe that we are part of that, that's our true nature is that higher self, not this tribal brain, this survival thing that you're talking about that we've learned. So how do we… you've said that we need to actually shut down this tribal brain. So how do we do that? Well, you’ve kind of telled us a little bit, I think, about why, but how can we even do that?
    Dr. Betsy Holmberg
So the secret lies in actually the neuroscience that first discovered that this system even exists. And so how it started was back with some fMRI researchers, and they were doing I don't even remember what the study was about, something like visual learning. And so they put people in an fMRI machine and they said, hold on a second, it's going to take us a bit to get module one up. And they're recording the whole time....

You're listening to the Live Love Engage podcast on today's show, why it's important to trust your inner guidance. Stay tuned.
I am Gloria Grace Rand, founder of The L.O.V.E. Method and author of the number one Amazon bestseller, Live Love Engage How to Stop Doubting Yourself and Start Being Yourself. Namaste. Oh, I am so glad to be with you again today. And I want to welcome all of our regular listeners and subscribers on YouTube. And if you are new to the show, I want to just especially extend a welcome to you. I am Gloria Grace Rand, the Light Messenger, spiritual alignment coach, and women entrepreneurs hire me to help clear the inner blocks that are keeping you stuck so you can put yourself first for a change and live the life you want now, not years later, but now. And I am so excited to be bringing you a guest today who is no stranger to that. She is someone who has been on her own life journey of doing lots of stuff, and her name is Gloria Coppola, and she is a best-selling, award winning author, sole purpose guide, and retreat host. And her, as I said, her journey has guided her to explore the higher options of one's path. And on her journey, she has been a holistic health practitioner, a healing arts teacher, a life coach, an accomplished award-winning educator, and I've also come to know her through some books, which we'll get into as well. But first off, I want to bring in the lovely Gloria and welcome you officially to Live Love Engage.
    Gloria Coppola
    Well, hello, Gloria.
    Gloria Grace Rand
I know, I know. I'm starting to move towards moving to Grace as opposed to Gloria, so maybe I'll let you be the sole Gloria after this, but for now…
    Gloria Coppola
Took me a lot of years to honor my name, so I think I'll own it at this point.
    Gloria Grace Rand
There you go. Yeah. Well, and it's taken me a long time to start honoring using the middle name, which I didn't use professionally until the last few years because it's reflective of my journey. But that's for another episode. I want to get back to you and your journey. So I do love to be able to ask our guests when they're on the show, what brought you to where you are today and to share a little bit about what that journey has been like for you and why you do the stuff you're doing today.
    Gloria Coppola
I don't know, I don’t know, I don’t know. I say that because every moment can change. Like, I could have a plan, and if I'm attached to the plan and I don't pay attention to the sole purpose and the guidance, then things don't always go well. So I live in that place of that divine grace that presence to guide me. And I've always been that way. My family did not understand me as a child because I was always kind of like that. They would tell me things as I was growing up, like, you need to settle down, you need to do this, you need to do that. And every time I tried, it just didn't work out. So I kind of did my own thing as a free spirit and didn't turn out too bad. I got to explore a lot of different things in life, but it was confusing for many people, not me, but many people who didn't understand. What do you do?
    Gloria Grace Rand
Oh, yes, I've been there, I’ve been there a little bit.
    Gloria Coppola
    I’ll bet.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Yeah. Now, I mentioned earlier that we connected through books before because I believe that and actually it was when we started this podcast, as a matter of fact, you were producing a what's the right terminology for it? Compilation? Or?
    Gloria Coppola
I've done a few of the collaborative books. I've also helped people write their novels. And I have all my stuff from years ago too. So I think we did in fact meet with one of the last collaborative books and then recently there was another anthology.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Right. Right. Yeah. And so I had a couple of your authors on the show at that time and we didn't get you on for some reason. And I've been just amazed. There's so many things I want to talk to you about because there's so many things that just amazes me about what you're doing. So just to give our audience a clue, I have seen this woman, she runs retreats in Italy, in Sedona. She has, as she just mentioned, she's written her own novels and that are winning awards and she's been traveling to Europe. So I know what I'm going to ask you right now. So of all of the different things that you have done, and I don't, well, no, I don't want to ask this because it's like asking you to pick your favorite child. So what are some of the things that… I'll do it that way. What are some of the things that have been bringing you the most joy recently?
    Gloria Coppola
That's a really good question because I sat there and asked myself the other day, with all the things I have done, from owning a holistic center, a massage school, being a business manager, getting involved in the story development and publishing, I always love helping people. It really comes down to that. No matter what I do, I have this connection that always guides me in that way, Gloria, and it's unstoppable. So wherever the divine brings me, I find I'm always helping bring out the best in people.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Well, I think that's a lovely thing to do. And I'm going to ask you, why do you think that you've been able to do that? Because, as you said, a lot of people are like, why don't you settle down? Why, why can't you just stay to one lane, shall we say, and yet you keep leaning into what spirit is guiding you to do. So what do you think is it about you that has allowed you to sort of put your faith, essentially, in that things are going to go well if I just pay attention to my, these, these these intuitions and these hits to follow a different path?
    Gloria Coppola
You just said the key word, faith. I came in that way as a little girl. I was always helping people, bringing kids back to the house to help them. My mother used to say to me, do you wear a sign on your back that says, follow me home, I'll help you. So it was just something I believe that I came into this world with. I believe God has guided me in everything I do that way. And yeah, it looks different, but it's really all the same. So no matter whether I was training healing arts practitioners for decades, or doing life coaching, and then doing the story development coaching, whatever it is, there's always that element of how can I bring the best out in people? And whether, let's say, they're dealing with health issues, well, how could I bring the best out in them? Same thing with a story. I got the sun shining on me all of a sudden, I guess that light.
    Gloria Grace Rand
I know, I noticed. It's like, you've just gotten so bright.
    Gloria Coppola
Whoa! When I started talking about God, right? But it really has been that way. I don't feel that it is just because of me. Like, it's not just because of my background, my education, my desires, and my love. I am literally often turned on a dime immediately where I am guided. For example, the books. Okay, so you see that one up there with the pink? The first one that God told me, this is what you're going to do. And I'm like, what? I don't do this. Well, yes, I do. I help people. And so I pulled together twelve women really quick. They came in grace, and that book was written and published and went number one bestseller the first day in the print in two and a half months. And in the meantime, I had to get help and learn how to do all this. And I'm really blessed. Gloria....

    Gloria Grace Rand
Namaste. I am Gloria Grace, light messenger and spiritual alignment coach, and women entrepreneurs hire me to clear the inner blocks, keeping you stuck so you can put yourself first for change and live the life you want now. And I am so glad to be with you today, and especially if you're new here, this is going to be a treat. I just feel it already. I know, because I'm doing something today that I don't do very often. I'm interviewing not one guest, but two, which is a challenge and fun at the same time. So I want to introduce to you our two guests. We have Helen Lim, who is a holistic health coach, and Jay-R Cimatu, who is an awakening coach, and they together host their own podcast, which is called “Awakened… Now what?” on Spotify. And their podcast aims to illuminate your spiritual awakening and ascension. And I think that is such a wonderful, wonderful topic right up my alley, and that's why I knew I had to have you two on the show today. So I always like to start off by asking our guests sort of their journey, what brought them to be doing the work that they're doing today. So I'll ask you, what prompted the two of you to decide to host a podcast together? Who's going to go first? Helen looked like Jay-R was wanting you to go first, so Helen?
    Helen Lim
All right, I'll take it. So I have been a fan of podcasts, and I've always noticed people's voices. And Jay-R. Sent me a recording session that he had with a galactic historian, Andrew Bartis, if the audience recognizes that name. And when I heard Jay-R's voice, I was like, Jay-R, you have a great podcast voice. Have you ever thought about podcasting? And then he asked me back and was like, why don't we do one together? And interestingly enough, this came out after we'd already been friends for about a year, but we didn't know that we were both on the more spiritual side because we knew each other through a guy I was dating at the time. So it was more like hanging out, enjoying the weekends together. But once we found out we were both spiritually inclined, then we started having other types of conversations, and that's kind of how the spiritual focus of our podcast was born. What about your side, Jay-R. What do you think?
    Jay-R Cimatu
Yeah, you put it perfectly so when I was going through my awakening, it was about three or four years into it. Asked myself, I mean, what now? Now what? What do we do? What do I do? Hence the name of our podcast. And I just kept searching for something to channel these new frequencies, channel these new energies into something helpful for the betterment of humanity. And I toyed around with writing a book. I started a business. I wanted to become an awakening coach. But there was something missing. And when Helen said, hey, let's start a podcast, I was like, yes, that's it. This is a vehicle for both of our voices to spark a conversation, spark everyone's curiosity about spirituality. And so that's what we've been doing now for two years, and we're having so much fun doing it. We've had so many amazing guests on the show, and it's grown exponentially. It's grown exponentially, and there's no looking back. Now we're having a blast.
    Gloria Grace Rand
I love that. And I know the feeling because I love doing this podcast. I'm into my fourth year now, and I'm quite content to keep rolling for a while because I get to meet interesting people like yourself. And I even do my own solo episodes where I get to talk about what's on my mind, which is fun as well. And I want to get back to something here because I know there are people I would hope most of the people who are listening to this podcast probably have some idea of what a spiritual awakening is, but maybe somebody has come onto the show for the first time and they've got no clue. They were just intrigued. Can you describe what was your experience? Let's go with that. Maybe, Jay-R, because you mentioned it first. How did you know you were having a spiritual awakening? What did it look?
    Jay-R Cimatu
So, it is… I describe it to all my clients too, like this. It's the moment where you have accessed a higher awareness of your inner connection to all that is. Now let's go deeper into that. Throughout my whole life, up until I was 28, 29, I always thought I was separate. I'm in this body. Everyone else is living their own life. I'm separate from the puzzle. I'm a small piece of the puzzle in this gigantic multiverse. And it was that moment where I endured a traumatic event of a breakup, and one can undergo an awakening in many different ways. Mine was through a breakup, and it was a moment where I realized, wow, I'm connected to everything. God is consciousness. God is the experience. We are having an individualized, fractalized experience of the whole while this whole separation is an illusion. And once I realized that deep inner knowingness, man, it changed my life. It was huge transformation. That's what it was for me. And now it's about, how do I approach life with that knowingness? How do I create a business? How do I create relationships? How do I create friendships, how do I try to live in this 3D world, working in a 3D job while having access to these higher frequencies? So that was kind of a struggle for me at first, but I've gotten the hang of it so far, it seems.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Well, that's good. I'm glad that's the case. So how about for you, Helen?
    Helen Lim
Similar to Jay-R. I also had a breakup that was a catalyst because we were together seven years. So at that point I thought we were going to get married and it would be, you know, I barely bought into the programming of happily ever after. So that shook me up a lot. And I just started to question and I think I understood the connection of all of us more when I started my yoga journey, because there was a moment at the top of a yoga mat where I was just like, divinely led, intuition is just breadcrumbs. We don't get the whole story because this human form couldn't take the whole story, right? So that led me to be like, okay, go to teacher yoga, teacher training, yoga teacher training. And then there I was able to experience Reiki, and I think a pinnacle too, though, that I would note is doing plant medicines and frog medicines during an Ayahuasca retreat, which then I truly understood the spiritual nature of consciousness of all of us being connected. And so awakenings are always happening, I think, if we're paying attention.
    Gloria Grace Rand
Yeah, for sure. It's interesting that and I think I've heard this before too, that sometimes it does take some sort of catalyst, like something traumatic that may happen. And I think it also just to let listeners and viewers know. It doesn't necessarily have to be that either. I think there are definitely cases where people just for whatever reason, just wake up. And so it doesn't don't think that you have to go through something like a breakup or a death in the family or divorce or whatever. What challenges have you run into, though? Because I know for me, it's not necessarily an easy path once you have come to this realization, especially if you're dealing with people who aren't awake, shall we say. So how have you experienced that at all, either one of you?
