  • Profit First: Interview with Mike Michalowicz – Part 2 – [PODCAST]
As business owners, it’s not enough to provide a quality product or service that helps solve a problem our ideal client has. If you don’t make a profit, you’re not going to be in business very long. And then, how many people will you be able to help? None!
In my last podcast episode, I shared the first part of an interview with Mike Michalowicz. He is the author of “The Pumpkin Plan” and “The Toilet Paper Entreprenuer.” His latest book is called, “Profit First: A Simple System to Transform Your Business from a Cash-Eating Monster to a Money-Making Machine.” During the interview, Mike explained what motivated him to come up with the concept of having business owners take their profit “first” instead of waiting until after a company’s expenses have been paid.
In part two, Mike will expand on this concept and explain the core healthy habits that every business owner should follow.

  • Profit First: Interview with Mike Michalowicz – Part 1 – [PODCAST]
Marketing and sales may be the lifeblood of a small business. But if you don’t make a profit, and use that money to enhance the quality of your life and/or your family’s life, what’s the point?
Unfortunately, many small business owners only take their profit (if at all) after they’ve paid all their expenses. But that’s a big mistake. There is a better way, as you’ll learn during my interview with entrepreneur, best-selling author, and former Wall Street Journal columnist, Mike Michalowicz.

  • 4 Ways to Optimize Pinterest Pins – [PODCAST]
If you had to pick only one social networking site to use for your business, I would choose Pinterest. Surprised? You probably thought I was going to say Facebook, right? After all, it’s the 1,000 pound gorilla of the social media world, with over 1 billion users worldwide.
But one of the main reasons I love Pinterest is that it is the social networking site that drives the most traffic to my website. And that’s important! Because the more eyeballs you have on your site, the better chance you have to convert those visitors into customers.
In my last podcast episode, I shared with you 7 ways to get started with Pinterest.
Today, I’m going to share four ways to optimize your Pinterest pins so you get more repins. As you’ll hear, repins is what it’s all about when it comes to marketing with Pinterest.

  • 10 Things to Do on Instagram [PODCAST]
Instagram is a fabulous social networking tool for small business owners. Did you know that engagement rates are higher here than on any other social networking site? Forrester did a study of 2500 brands and found that their engagement rates were less than a 0.1 percent on six out of the seven platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. On the other hand, they found that Instagram posts delivered a per-follower engagement rate of 4.21 percent. That means brands got 58 times more engagement per follower than Facebook, and 120 times more engagement per follower than Twitter.
If you’d like to start promoting your products and services on Instagram, tune in to today’s podcast episode. In it, I share 10 things to do on Instagram, courtesy of “Insta-expert” Sue B. Zimmerman. FYI – I recorded this episode late at night, and goofed up on the name and company of another Instagram expert I recommend you follow. Her name is Hillary Rushford of Dean Street Society.
