Jesus teaches us: "Judge and condemn not.” What does He mean by judging? And how do we live out the challenge that followed to: "forgive and give freely?” in a messy world? We’ll unpack the implications for disciples as Jesus continues His Sermon.

This week, Jesus continues his message with: "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” and His challenges only get more difficult from there. What did Jesus intend when He gave this command? Are we supposed to just let people run roughshod all over us? Who was He speaking to and how did they take it? How are we to respond in this day and age? Truly getting to know Jesus, will help us answer these questions.

With his new team of 12 core disciples to pour into, Jesus begins teaching them (and us) what God’s coming kingdom is supposed to look like and the freedom it brings. Have we gotten it all wrong? What Jesus has to say on the matter could be a game-changer for your life.

Culture shows us that celebrity not only can be fleeting, but most often it is soul-crushing, especially when everyone wants something from you. From the very beginning of Jesus’ ministry, He was constantly in demand. People in great need followed Him everywhere and pressed in on him from all sides. The pressures of life can feel that way for us at times. Jesus found strength in the Father. He also needed a team of Superfriends that could help him with His mission. This week Jesus builds his inner circle of disciples and throughout the process illustrates what God’s kingdom is REALLY all about.
