This week, we review our preparedness for the next pandemic by review one of the deadliest in recent times. We compare our response to COVID-19 to that of the 1918 Influenza Outbreak. During the early 1900's, medicine didn't exist to treat these viruses, and only supportive care existed. As we turn towards COVID-19 and the painfully inadequate response here in the United States, are we truly ready for the next pandemic?
