    WHO WILL GO?
    READ: 2 Timothy 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
    2 Timothy 3:1-2
In the last days, men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of money and lovers of pleasure. These are terrible depravities to which men will fall in the last days. The love for ourselves and the love for money have made us the lowest types of Christians that have ever lived on the face of this earth. We have more knowledge, more resources, more money and more grace than any other generation. Yet we are the ones who are doing the least for the kingdom of God. We are truly the Laodicean, lukewarm church.
After salvation, most Christians assume that Christianity spreads by osmosis. From the pastors to the lowest members of the churches, hardly anyone thinks about the souls of men.
Jesus’ ominous last words to His church are ignored with a stunning boldness that raises the question of insanity. Almost everything else is preached about except soul winning. We have nice times, nice churches, nice feelings, nice programs, nice songs, nice worship nights, nice congregations and nice dignified pastors but no one preaches about soul winning.
The great last words of Jesus Christ have been set aside. Everyone is silent about the Great Commission. Everyone thinks that someone else will do it. Everyone thinks that someone else will go.
The “love yourself spirit” of the last days has grounded the church of God. There are now few real evangelists, few church planters and even fewer missionaries.
It is sad to see that the Great Commission is not regarded as a great commission any more. In spite of this, I can tell you that God’s work will flourish and souls will be saved, no matter who goes or who does not go.

  • Daily Counsel - Opposition
    Daily Counsel
    With Dag Heward-Mills :
    OPPOSITION
    READ:1 Peter 5:1-11
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
    1 Peter 5:8-9
There is no commission or calling that goes without opposition. If God calls you, you will be opposed by the devil. Satan will fight you, because that is all he is there for. Every great calling goes with great opposition.
For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
    1 Corinthians 16:9
When Moses was called to set the Israelites free, he was met with great opposition from Pharaoh. Pharaoh is a type of satan who will not let God’s people go. Pharaoh represents the devil who hates the idea of people serving God. All male Israelite children were slaughtered in an attempt to eliminate Moses from this world.
When Jesus was born into this world to save mankind he met with Herod who ordered the slaughter of all children in an attempt to eliminate the Saviour. The great call and commission of Jesus as the Saviour of this world was met with the highest kind of resistance.
Your calling will equally be met with fierce resistance. If you insist on working for God, you will be resisted, frustrated, accused, harassed and opposed by an invisible enemy all through your life and ministry. If you do not pray, and if you are not spiritual, you will not last in this fierce invisible war. Demons are real. Evil creatures are real. It is time to find out exactly what you are dealing with and crush it. The power of God is necessary to crush the adversary. The enemy understands the language of power.
According as HIS DIVINE POWER HATH GIVEN UNTO US all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
    2 Peter 1:3.

    POWER IN THE BLOOD
    .
    READ: Romans 3:19-26
    In whom we have REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
    Ephesians 1:7
Through the power of the blood of Jesus salvation has come to the world. Through the blood of Jesus you receive forgiveness. Forgiveness means that God has stopped feeling angry towards you. He has pardoned you and written off your debts.
After being forgiven you need cleansing because there is often a scent of the past evils that contaminate you – 1 John 1:7. This process takes you one-step further than forgiveness did.
Sanctification takes you even further than forgiveness and cleansing do – Hebrews 13:12. It means you have been set apart for a sacred religious purpose. It is only the sanctifying power of the blood of Jesus that can move you so far from your past evil state. This is the power that can utterly transform a criminal into a priest of God!
The next step in this process is redemption – Revelation 5:9-10. To redeem is to get, to win, or to buy someone or something back. To redeem a slave means to buy back a slave. Christ has legally bought us back from the devil’s slave camp. He paid for us with His blood. When God went shopping, He paid the bill with His blood. God wanted to have a permanent relationship with us. Your forgiveness, your cleansing and your sanctification are permanent. You belong to God. The devil has no legal access to you.
Final reconciliation with God comes because you are forgiven, cleansed, sanctified and redeemed. You can now enjoy a reconciled relationship with God. This is what propitiation is all about. Propitiation involves a regaining of the favour and the goodwill that you lost with God. Through the blood of Jesus you will appease the heavenly Father and restore a beautiful relationship with Him.

    UNDERSTAND THE WORD
    READ: Matthew 13:18-23
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which SHALL FEED YOU WITH KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.
    Jeremiah 3:15
It is important to deepen the understanding of the ordinary Christian. When people do not understand things, they are easily offended. When understanding is deep, they are rooted and grounded and not easy to uproot. Do you want your members to be easily uprooted? Do you want your members to be scattered? Certainly not! Organise classes to deepen the understanding of the people. Start a Bible school. Teach the Word at every opportunity.
Do not take it for granted that the members know anything. Many Christians do not know the basics of salvation. Many Christians do not know the basic doctrines of Christianity. You must fight for a deeper understanding otherwise your church members will be blown away with the very next wind. Jesus was very clear on this truth. When there is no root, there is no understanding! The lack of understanding causes Christians to be uprooted easily. The sheep should be prevented from being snatched away by the wicked one (Matthew 13:19). As the Christian understands the Word, he bears fruit (Matthew 13:23). As he lacks understanding, he becomes barren. More understanding, more fruits!
Shepherds should feed the sheep with the aim of deepening their knowledge and understanding. Feeding the sheep properly to deepen their knowledge and understanding will cause the flock to multiply and increase.
AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, WHEN YE BE MULTIPLIED AND INCREASED in the land, in those days, saith the Lord...
    Jeremiah 3:16
This is the amazing responsibility that God gives the shepherds to bring understanding to the sheep.

    MARITAL ISSUES
    READ: Genesis 39:20-23
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
    Proverbs 15:33
Joseph was in prison, which is a ‘type’ of bad marriage. He used this handicap to rise into prominence and leadership. Your difficult marriage is giving you certain important qualities. Every difficult marriage releases two key spiritual treasures into your life – humility and wisdom.
Everybody has a different kind of marriage. Some people have A1 (excellent, ideal) marriages. Others have P5 (prison, suffering, bondage) marriages. Perhaps you married someone who is not an ideal partner. Perhaps you have an unpleasant, quarrelling, malicious, and contentious wife. Perhaps you feel sad that you backed the wrong horse and are yoked to an unfortunate circumstance.
Those who have A1 marriages often develop a subtle pride about their ideal and harmonious lives. You will hear them saying things like, “Why don’t you pull yourself together and be a good husband so that you can have a good marriage.” P5 marriage partners are blessed with the humility and humiliation of their circumstances.
The other key quality that is released through your difficult marriage is the key of wisdom. You need superior wisdom to outmanoeuvre a cantankerous or accusative woman and continue to dwell peacefully with her. Solomon advised dwelling in the desert or finding your way to a rooftop. It takes supernatural wisdom and strategy to dwell with an unfaithful man who beats his wife and comes home with HIV viruses to download into her.
After many years of a P5 marriage, you will become a wiser and more humble spouse who appreciates and understands other people’s problems. A person with an A1 marriage will not have this advantage and can even become insensitive to people’s problems.

    FLESHLY DESIRES
    READ: Ephesians 2:1-13
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
    John 3:6
After you are born again, you become a spiritual baby who is dominated by the flesh. Spiritual babies are just like unbelievers who are religious! An unbeliever is someone who has not received Jesus as his Saviour, is not born again and does not know Christ.
However, there are religious unbelievers, who go to church. They sing hymns, and they pray before they set out on a journey. Such unbelievers, although religious, are actually not born-again Christians.
Some time ago, I was religious. I prayed every day. I went to church on Sundays, but I did not know Jesus Christ as my Saviour. I was a religious unbeliever.
An unbeliever is someone who fulfils the desires of his flesh and his mind. He does whatever comes to mind and follows every natural urge and feeling.
That is exactly how spiritual babies are. They cry and complain all the time. They do not restrain themselves when they have sexual urges and desires. They fulfil every desire they have. Spiritual babies also pray and go to church. In this regard, spiritual babies and religious unbelievers are very similar.
There are many people we encounter, and we are not sure whether they are Christians or not. They could either be religious unbelievers or tiny spiritual babies. Ask yourself today, “Am I a spiritual baby?” If you are born again and you are still fulfilling all your fleshly desires, then you are a tiny little spiritual baby. There is no difference between you and an unbeliever who is fulfilling all his fleshly desires.

    GROWING GOD’S
    READ: Isaiah 43:5-7
Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: ALL THEY GATHER THEMSELVES TOGETHER, THEY COME TO THEE: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
    Isaiah 60:4
In this amazing prophecy, there is a prediction that your spiritual sons and daughters will come from far. There will be a great gathering of the people that God is using you to minister to.
All through the book of Isaiah, you see predictions of the church being built. In this wonderful church building prophecy, your church members will come from all four corners of the world. You will be amazed by how people will come from everywhere to listen to you preaching the word of God. People are going to come from every corner to fill the seats in your church. Let us believe that these prophetic words are real. These church building prophecies are the words of famous Jewish prophets. The greatest Jewish prophet of all was Jesus Christ.
The prophet Ezekiel also prophesied that God will build His church.
Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I WILL INCREASE THEM WITH MEN LIKE A FLOCK.
    Ezekiel 36:37
In this marvellous prophecy, Ezekiel declared the church of God will be built and become like a flock. Whatever you have will be increased. It will grow. It will get bigger! You will have more! You must believe it in your heart and you must expect it! You do not have to steal somebody’s flock. You do not have to destroy somebody’s church. What you have is going to increase. Even though it is small today, it is going to get bigger.
