Over the past few weeks, we have been focusing on physical literacy, functional movement skills, sports skills, and the long term development for the young athlete. Today’s show is super exciting for me because our guest has dedicated his life’s passion and work to these topics along with exercise physiology, nutrition, and sports science information. Capturing a coveted position after graduating from the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science, he began working for the NHL’s New York Rangers ice hockey team as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. In 2015, he transitioned within the Rangers organization to become the team’s first Sports Scientist/Performance Analyst. While working for the Rangers, he also earned his Master’s degree in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan University.
Our guest is also the creator of a website dedicated to providing content in the form of infographics and research reviews to enable readers to make informed decisions about health, wellness, nutrition, exercise, and sport science.
Currently, he is the Sports Science Advisor for RockDaisy LLC and the Sports Science Coordinator at the University of Vermont. Our guest keeps busy working in the areas that he is passionate about and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Functioning and Rehabilitation Science.
