In episode 6 I interview TC Johnston – a musician and a fellow Brightonian. We talk about the pressures of growing up around a culture of uninhibited drinking and drug taking and how it affected our life choices. TC opens up about what it's like working within the music industry and how the rockstar lifestyle can often take over and lead to destructive outcomes. We also talk about his periods of sobriety and how, in the long term, a sober lifestyle can inspire positive change in mental and physical health.

TW: abusive relationships, addiction, substance use, grief, mentions of animal death

In this episode, I interviewed Holly Lang, one of my old school besties. We decided to focus on toxic relationship addiction rather than a particular substance. We talk about how our own trauma growing up has dictated our relationships as adults. We discuss what addiction means to us individually and how these toxic behavioural patterns can be difficult to break. We also focus on how vital it is to be self-aware and how learning how to self-care, is now part of our mental health routines.

In episode four, I interview the first sober guest on the podcast Jimmy Griffiths. I know Jimmy as we went to school together, we discuss what it's like growing up in a party town and using drugs at such a young age. We dive into when the drug taking started and when it got out of control. Jimmy talks about his own road of recovery which started in the UK but developed into harder drug taking when he moved to Australia and traveled through Thailand. He also shares the extreme toll this took on his mental health and how severe his lifestyle changed.
