In this episode, JD and Bryan discuss the value of seasons of weakness. God consistently uses the weak and humble to work his greatest power. Self-driven strength isn’t inherently a positive character trait; Even the familiar stories of Moses and David point us toward the perfect example of Jesus Christ’s patient trust and reliance upon God in times of distress and weakness. Let’s consider taking advantage of our weakness, to grow in faith, that God’s merciful power can be manifested.

In last week's episode, the Devotional Doctors podcast considered right movement; this week we discuss stability and steadfastness. JD puts Bryan through a Fukuda stepping test, and demonstrates how our certainty of balance can be easily shaken. From there, we look at 2 Peter 3, where Peter warns about maintaining surety in the Scriptures, and not being destabilized by misinterpretation or falsehood. We briefly consider the parable of the wise and foolish builders, and how we must hear and apply the messages of Jesus Christ in order to stand fast. We are better able to withstand misdirection of false teaching when we are prepared and solid in our Scriptural foundation. And we are further aided in our balance by keeping our eyes open and focused on the righteousness of the new creation.

We often use the language of "walking" or "journey" when talking about Christian life. Today's special guest is Dan Steuer, a PTA and host of the podcast Finish Last. As therapists, Dan and JD nerd out on walking, and look at several passages of Scripture which use that language. We consider the importance of walking and movement to physical health and spiritual health; humans are not meant to be physically or spiritually sedentary creatures.
