Devy Dojo

Episode 16 of the Devy Dojo is here, and it’s time to hand out grades to the 2025 NFL rookie class. From early-season breakouts to disappointing starts, we’re giving A–F grades to this year’s rookies and breaking down what it means for your dynasty fantasy football teams. In this episode:

If the season ended today, how would the first round of your dynasty rookie draft look? The Devy Dojo is putting it to the test. Sensei and Shifu walk pick by pick through a 12-player Superflex mock — resetting the board through the first month of the season.

From John Mateer’s meteoric rise (and sudden injury news), to Jonah Coleman powering Washington, Jordyn Tyson staking his WR1 claim, and Justice Haynes proving the rumors of his demise were overblown — this class is already shifting fast. We’re talking risers, fallers, and the value plays you need to keep an eye on if you want to stay ahead of your league.

Who’s worth the 1.01 today? Who’s sliding out of range? And what does it mean for your dynasty portfolio going forward?

Hit play, step into the Dojo, and see how the board looks through today’s lens.

This week in the Devy Dojo, we’re tackling one of the toughest questions in the game: when a star QB stumbles, do you buy the dip… or cut bait before things get worse?

From DJ Lagway’s nightmare against LSU to Arch Manning’s shaky mechanics, we’re breaking down whether these slow starts are buying opportunities or red flags. We’ll also cover Garrett Nussmeier, LaNorris Sellers, Sam Leavitt, and Drew Allar — analyzing their PFF data, tape notes, and where the market is moving.

Then we shift gears into listener-submitted trades. You sent in your best (and boldest) Devy deals, and we’ll tell you where the value lies. Who won, who lost, and what you can learn to sharpen your own trade strategy.

Welcome back to the Dojo — where scouting meets game theory. 🥋

Michael Penix Jr. was written off — three straight season-ending injuries, ignored in Devy drafts, and dismissed by the models. Here’s how he proved them all wrong.

However, what the numbers missed… was the heart. In this Session with the Sensei, I break down how Penix went from an injury-prone 3-star to a first-round NFL QB — the mechanics, the deep ball dominance, the proof-of-concept Texas tape, and why his connection with Drake London could turn him into one of the best values in dynasty right now.
