Shelby Maher is one of Western Australia's most elite Volleyball players both on court and in the sand. Maher has achieved a swag of awards and accolades for her Volleyball skills including the 2020 Volleyball WA’s  State League Indoor Player of the Year and Beach Player of the Year. 

Shelby has competed in the U/19 & U/21 World Championships, winning gold in the U19 Australian Junior Volleyball Championships and silver in the Australian Volleyball League in 2017. Recently, Shelby was also named as an Ambassador for Volleyball WA.

Off the court, Shelby is a Physiotherapist based in Cannington and her chat with Dean White talks all things athletics, career and all things in between.

 Prior to becoming and owner of Diamond Fitness, Dean signed a professional Baseball contract with the Atlanta Braves, moving to the US as an 18 year old and having to make the tough Baseball decision of going Pro or to College.

It's not often you have athletes jump sports and end up elite in both. Hugh Greenwood retired from Basketball to pursue Aussie Rules and his transition from US College Basketballer to AFL Player is a remarkable story.

Hugh played ball at the University of New Mexico and after signing a deal that didn't go to plan with the Perth Wildcats, Greenwood took a punt back to footy.  After deciding to retire from Basketball, Hugh signed a two-year category B rookie contract with the Adelaide Crows in 2015 and making his AFL debut in 2017 and playing in the Crows 2017 Grand Final loss. 

At the end of the 2019 season, Greenwood requested a trade to the Gold Coast Suns and that's where he plays today.

Hugh's mate and Diamond's own, Corban Wroe sits down and these two have a great discussion that's definitely worth a listen.
