On today's episode, we continue our look back at the 2021-2022 Preds season and evaluate two important pieces of the Predators defensive corps - Mattias Ekholm and Dante Fabbro. Nick and Ann break down this season's performance of Ekholm - usually a steady presence at the blue line. But what caused Ekky to struggle with inconsistent play at times this season? We debate how much of his "off" games were due to other players' performances and whether there is any credibility to the argument that even a veteran like Ekholm could be affected by the previous two tumultuous NHL seasons. We then take a look at Dante Fabbro whose performance has been somewhat divisive among the Smashville fan base. Did a stronger season get overshadowed by injury and unrealistic expectations for the young player? We debate whether Fabbro can live up to the expectations that come with being a first round draft pick. Finally, Nick and I share what we can expect from these two defensemen looking ahead and give our final grades for the season.
