Melissa has been involved in running for well over ten years.  We kind of knew each other from Thompson Estate Running Club, but we now really know each other as we ran together regularly on a recent cruise we happened to be on together. "It's like visiting the hairdresser when you run - you tend to share your whole life story"!

Tara is a regular at the Tooheys Trot and recently completed her first 100k ultra at Tarewarra in New Zealand. We chat about the experience just 5 days after arriving home.

Nick and his wife Nicola have both run full marathons in the last 12 months and have inspired many others to train and aim higher in their running journeys too. He's a friendly and adventurous sort of guy and it will do you good to listen to his story.

The regular BTR Wednesday Toohey Trot trail running group wanted to make sure our buddy Tara, who is running the NZ Tarawera 100 Kilometre trail run on Saturday Feb 17th, knows we love her and are with her all the way on her epic journey.  This podcast is a compilation of words of encouragement from her mates!

The Wednesday morning Toohey Trot is arguably the most well attended weekly trail run in Brisbane. It's so popular because of people like Kristen Lyons. She is warm, enthusiastic, intelligent and courageous. She is planning to run a 50k trail in her 50th year. We all need people like Kristen in our lives. 

Jayme Leonard has always been good at running, but only recently has she discovered that running Trails is "the best thing ever" and that trail runners are her "tribe". Her other classic quote is "Nobody should ever run on concrete". She is a wonderful human and is super encouraging and enthusiastic. She recently did the Tarawera 50k trail in NZ and already has two 50k trail run events in her 2024 calendar. 

Liz is 65 years young and this year despite the small hiccup of sustaining a broken shoulder managed to run 5277 kilometers. She has 14 Melbourne marathons to her name and this year is planning to do London, Sydney, Melbourne and Gold coast full 42k marathons. Cherie is one of the most joyful and enthusiastic runners I know. She has overcome massive challenges and will probably never be a podium finisher, but for courage and positivity, she is a gold medalist in my book!
