Elsa came Australia 11 years ago from rural China and started running to lose some weight, get fit and make some new friends. Through running she met her husband and is pregnant with her second child, is fitter than ever and has lots of authentic caring friends.

Wes and his wife Amy are regulars at the Thompson Estate Running Club (TEEs) and it's good for them to have this shared interest. Wes took a full 8 minutes of his previous 10k PB this year and is faster now in his 40s than he was in his 20s.

Travis and his delightful daughters, Penelope-Rose and Gabriella run regularly at TEEs on Monday and Thursday nights. They come as a family and are getting faster and faster every week. They are very stylish girls and so are not just fast runners but are cute beyond words!

John Roundhill is often the Run Director at Mansfield Parkrun. He is also the local Anglican Bishop and has a fabulous running story. I interviewed John for my other podcast show Stories of Hope and this episode is a few excerpts from that interview where he talks about his running journey.

Tara is a neurological scientist and her specialty is understanding how exercise creates new neurons in the hippocampus. She is running the 100k Tarawera ultra marathon next year and so is pretty darn amazing, but she happily plods along with me and the crew in the Tooheys Trot each Wednesday morning and is both interesting and delightful.

Julie started running late in life and the difference this has made to her health and well being is nothing short of remarkable. She has run 3 full marathons and over 100 parkruns. She is delightful person and her running story will inspire and encourage you.

Jess has always been fit as she loves gymnastics and martial arts. However running was never her thing and if she did reluctantly run to get fit, she preferred to run alone. She now loves running and thinks running people are lovely - enough to get her whole family involved.

Monica is a busy mum and a full time carer for her daughter who has disabilities. Her journey into running has helped her manage life for herself, but also inspired many others to give it a go without the fear of embarrassment or judgement. She leads a run coaching social enterprise called RUNNA UP and loves teaching people how to run with the correct technique.

Hayley Lawrence leads the Toohey Trot trail run each Wednesday morning. She sets the culture for a running group that is a growing and caring sort of community. Running has been life transforming for her and she is dedicated to helping other people find this for themselves too.
