In the distant future of 2007 two men journeyed from New Zealand to the United States and changed the comedy music genre forever.  "Flight of the Conchords" would take flight on HBO -- earning critical acclaim and vaulting Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement into immediate stardom.

They also took us on an awkward and hilarious ride through dating, struggling to find work, and poor band management like never before.

Welcome to Season 1, Episode 42 of Digital Dissection: A Nerd Podcast! Today Mark and Joe discuss some lesser known aspects of HBO's hit show "Flight of the Conchords" as well as some of their favorite moments.

  • Quarters Up! I Got Next! feat. Doug Eberle

Once upon a time we didn't need uniforms, high speed internet connections, a Twitch audience, or fancy trophies to show off our video game dominance. All we really needed was our friends, greasy pizza, a slightly musty environment, and a pocket full of quarters so we could enter our initials and claim dominance over our favorite arcade game.

Welcome to season one episode 41 of Digital Dissection: A Nerd Podcast! This week Chelsea, Joe, and Mark our joined by our good friend Doug Eberle to talk about a time when the arcade was king.  Whether it was teaming up with complete strangers to beat Turtles in Time, getting to level 110 of Space Invaders, or wiping the floor with your buds in Mortal Kombat, local arcades once provided us with everything our little gaming hearts desired.

  • THE ROOM (2003) & The Legend of Tommy Wiseau

    YOU'RE TEARING ME APART LISA!

Not all success stories are equal, the definition can be subjective and such is the case of Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece THE ROOM. Called the "Citizen Kane" of bad movies, the 2003 film would premiere to few in the Los Angeles area. With its completely unorthodox production, to its esoteric and insanely passionate creator, THE ROOM premiered to little fanfare and wouldn't break through with critics or awards due to its highly comedic (even if unintended) subject matter.

Wiseau's film would live on however, with a Worldwide tour that captivated and equally confused audiences -- creating an underground community that has kept the torch lit ever since. The film's journey would inspire one of its stars {Greg Sestero} to write about his experience on set, itself becoming a feature film.

Join Joe, Mark, and Mark's Brother (Oh Hai Nate) as the trio break down elements of the now notorious production, as well as Wiseau himself. After this episode, you might find yourself searching for the next "Love is Blind" tour visit...

  • Castlevania Crashers

Considered to be a bloodthirsty recluse for years,  Vlad Dracula Tepes has the people of Wallachia living in fear of what he might do with the horrors he keeps in his Castle.  But whether it is a whip wielding Belmont, a witty magician, or even his own son, it seems like Dracula always has someone to oppose him. Welcome to season one episode 39 of Digital Dissection: A Nerd Podcast!

Today, Joe and Mark discuss Netflix's anime adaptation of the hit video game franchise "Castlevania." This brilliant, and possibly best ever, video game adaptation has our hosts wondering if the baddest vampire of all time needs to be stopped once and for all...or is he more like Brittany in 2007 and just needs to be left alone?
