Dr. Kari Stubbs is a PhD educator and edtech executive who has spent her career at the intersection of technology, learning, and child development. A former ISTE board member, she has worked alongside school districts across the country helping them think carefully about where and how technology serves students best.

It sits at the intersection of neuroscience, intentional parenting, and the urgent question of how we raise children who are genuinely ready to learn, connect, and thrive in a world shaped by AI.

She spent fourteen years at BrainPOP, whose mission to ignite curiosity about the world within and around young learners deeply informed her thinking about how digital tools can support rather than replace the human interactions that build developing brains.

About our Guest: Antonio A. Fierro, EdD

Antonio A. Fierro, EdD, is the author of El muro de sonidos y deletreo, a Spanish sound–spelling phonetics curriculum for young children, and co-author of Kid Lips, both published by 95 Percent Group, where he currently serves as Literacy Expert in Residence. Dr. Fierro spent nearly two decades as part of the national LETRS cohort of literacy consultants led by Dr. Louisa Moats.

Dr. Fierro has spearheaded initiatives to strengthen instruction for English learners, influencing educational policy and practice at both state and national levels. Drawing on this experience, he is dedicated to partnering with institutions of higher education to strengthen educator preparation programs, emphasizing the psychology of reading and preparing future teachers to meet the needs of all learners. In support of this work, he currently serves as a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Science of Reading Center at SUNY New Paltz.

About our Guest: Adriana Massara

Adriana’s passion for education comes from a long line of teachers in her family. She joined Teach for America after graduating from college and taught elementary school. During her tenure, Adriana became a school leader and lead math curriculum planner. In those roles, she managed grade-level teams and teacher training. Adriana was also a Leadership for Educational Equity Fellow, where she worked for the Office of Equity and Access at the New York City Department of Education.

Adriana joined the Alliance for Decision Education in 2015 as the Partnership and Training Manager. In that role, she oversaw school implementation of Decision Education and supported teachers’ practices with training and in-classroom coaching. As the Director of Community and Partnerships, Adriana managed the Alliance’s network of individual and organizational partnerships, including the Advisory and Ambassador Councils. She is now the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer of the Alliance.

Adriana received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Hawaii, and graduated with a B.A. in Consumer Psychology and Communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
