Digi-Nopsis: 

Domain name is the name given for your unique identity on the World Wide Web. It is simply a representation of your IP address (Internet Protocol)

TLD (Top Level Domain) eg. COM, .ORG, .NET ...

SLD (Second Level Domain) an extention of the top level domain eg. example.com where "example" is the second level of the complete domain name.
