Direct Input Podcast

Direct from Finland, here is DEMILICH. Well, not exactly. It was a rather hectic night. Boy. Let me tell you. The first half is before the doors opened. The second half is the after show edition. I shiver when I remember

The things that I have seen

I know the light, I know the Night

I have walked with things unseen

I have been a king invincible

I've been the poorest of the poor

I've pulled the mighty from their thrones

And laughed at Death's own door

'Cause I'm alive

- Cirith Ungol

Andrew Pequita makes his return to DIP since #DIP036 debut. We pick up right where we left off. Join us as we go 1,000 miles an hour, so to say. No real direction. No clear aim. Just two dudes enjoying a high test beer and quality THC. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings rants await. Power Metal is encouraged. Further analysis of late 90's Melodic Death Metal ensues as well. Debauchery is recalled with tales of Federal Hill and Jack Koshick Metal Fests. It's just like sitting down and getting Tattooed by him for 4 hours. Only thing is you missed the Portuguese Food.

This is my first time podcasting at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival at the Worcester Palladium. It's always an interesting event. There were many younger fans going nuts. This entire episode is tracked with 1 microphone as I walk/stand around the front of the Worcester Palladium. You'll hear from a variety of concert goers, street folk and bands. You'll even get to hear me talk in French. I merged 2 different tracks. The first one ends with Jason Netherton and classified trip to the van. The second begins immediately at the box office window. I got to talk several people and now you get to meet them too.

Thanks you to the guests (appearing in order)

It's been a weak winter for new releases and snow. Hear me recant the last string of episodes that were tracked from January to the end of March. I talk about the Judas Priest - Firepower tour (setlist spoils happen) and you know I'm runnin' wild. Plus I hit on the outstanding Malokarpatan/Negative Plane tour. Of yeah, and Inquisition. Frequent guest, Chris MT is responsible for the meme that is featured for this episodes picture.

Here we are on site of Metal Thursday 368 at Ralph's Rock Diner in Worcester, MA. The Summoned is the first band I approach that night. Steve and Shaun are the dudes that do the talking. Next up is The Beast of Nod who is on stage warming up, after just finishing a sound check. Each member gets a spot since I'm holding them hostage on stage. Enjoy!

This closes out the 3rd of 3 podcasts cut during the 3rd week of February 2018. This is my first time podcasting at Great Scotts and it came out pretty damn sweet. I didn't have a chance to sit down with either Morbosidad or Blaspherian. Sucks but oh well. I waited 10 years to see Blaspherian and they blew me away! Anyways, for now, you get to hear me meander around the bar and yuck it up with members of the two opening acts, Malleus and Peucharist. Necrochrist from Martyrvore is at the bar with me to start. Charlie and Mike from Psycho are at the other end of the bar when the episode comes to an end.

Apollyon is a 4 piece band from Portland, Maine. They play in the style of early 1st Wave Black Metal. We sat down together at Metal Thursday #366 which was in the middle their short jaunt through New England. I'm fresh off a double espresso and here to punish you all. We discuss the current state of Maine Metal as well as the band in general. Revered Bizarre - The Harbinger of Metal is playing in the background.

Occltva is a Black Metal band from Berlin, Germany. I've played a few of their tracks on DIPMIX-Summer2017 and DIPMIX-Favorite2017. I think these guys are a brillant band, so I was thrilled to see them play at O'Brien's Pub in Allston, MA. This is the first time I've ever podcasted at this location. It's a wicked small club and this episode is tracked a mere 15 feet from the amps on stage. It's a rather short episode. I hate to be a name dropping ninny but that's how common ground is established sometimes. Regardless, this is short but sweet. I lost my mind to their set that night. I awoke the next morning buzzing from an extended cut of 'Above Pale Fields of Fevers'.
