Matt Coe has been possessed by Heavy Metal since the 80s.  His obsession drove him to tape trading and eventually led into writing for various fanzines and Metal magazines.  Its in this episode that we hear the former co-editor of Snakepit Magazine (issues 5-12) talking about Heavy Metal thriving in the 80s and surviving in the 90s.  Today he's a senior writer for DeadRhetoric.com and continues to work tirelessly, still pushing new reviews and interviews every week. The man has a mind full of Metal that only an elite few can compete against.  Not everyone will live to experience the sound of 20,000 Heavy Metal albums, yet writers like Mr. Coe are simply "too weird to live and too rare to die" - Hunter S. This episode features the first time I've ever used a LR microphone which ends up being a little over powered by myself. Although, considering I was standing under a PA that was pushing 85 decibels of Fates Warning – The Spectre Within, it doesn't sound that horrible in most spots. I definitely got a little caught off guard at one point, totally botching a spot on the patriarchy and I regret I didn't lash back properly. Then again, I don't edit stuff to make everything and everyone appear all perfect, so it's on me to fall on that sword.

This episode is years in the making. Back in 2005, Evan and I started Sexcrement, a Death Metal band based out of Framingham, MA. We had a reputation as the murphy's law of Death Metal .We were well known for having wild parties at our studio space and violent live shows. This is one of the first times in years we've actually sat down together and just shot the shit. Despite me leaving the band and how eventually the band came to a halt, we're both incredibly fond our time spent being in a band together. Josh makes a triumphant return to DIP after going viral for heckling Gene Simmons in Providence, Rhode Island - I've included links to the account referenced below.
