Daft Punk Forever in Dirty Disco.

Last week we received the news that the legendary and iconic french house music duo Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter & Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo), decided to stop with Daft Punk. The duo have been making music for 28 years and from the very beginning they have been making a huge impact in the electronic music scene and later even in the pop music scene. Without going into deep on the story, Daft Punk was a big part of my childhood and growing up as an adult in electronic music. They may have stopped producing music as a duo, but their music will always be played and therefore Daft Punk Forever in our hearts and locked into the history of electronic music.

To stand still with the news and what the duo meant for the music scene I’m playing you two Daft Punk tracks. One iconic track that we all know and still raises that energy level to the max. And one from their latest album which also was used in their goodbye epilogue video clip.

Crypto, Elon & P*rn Jazz?

After last week’s episode with DJ Lahar’s guest-mix session, the title of this week’s music show episode might raise some questions. Therefore I suggest you simply tune in and become a witness of what’s going on. Next to the music in Dirty Disco 396, I will also talk a bit about Crypto as we all know that BTC and the whole crypto space is currently very bullish. Right after we all enjoyed and spoiled our loved ones with extra love on Valentines day, I’m back at you with a brand new Dirty Disco music session. In the last weeks we had a few DJ friends over for our exclusive guest-mixes. You may remember the awesome DJ set by Just Martina in episode 391 and Dragan Kucirov in Dirty Disco 392. For this music show episode I invited another DJ friend and long-time listener Rowan Leahy a.k.a. DJ Lahar for a beautiful dance floor type DJ set.

My 10 new electronica tracks for this week.

Before I proudly present you DJ Lahar and his guest-mix, I’m hoping to inspire you with 10 new music releases that I curated this week. To give you a little idea of what to expect, I curated the new direction Let’s Play House Records took with the latin funk infused EP by the Saidêra trio and their Deiza Tudo Fluir EP. Which is a real summer vibe treat. Real deep house goodness awaits you from San Diego based producer Processing Vessel who released his new EP ‘Harmony Of The Spheres” on the Dutch label: Batavia Records.

Ben Westbeech a.k.a. Breach dropped a new hot EP called Sun Salutations on These Eyes. The talented Dave Machine reached out with a new track “Blue Moon” that I featured in this episode. And last but not least I will play you new remixes on two of my favorite St Germain tracks: Rose Rouge and Sure Thing that recently came out on the highly anticipated new album: Tourist 20th Anniversary Travel Versions.

DJ Lahar.

After my 10 tracks it’s time for our guest DJ Lahar to drop some dance floor bombs for you in an exclusive mix session he did for Dirty Disco. Lahar will take you on a little trip back to that real “dance floor” feeling we all are missing so badly. A fine curated selection of dope floor fillers and tight mixing skills by DJ Lahar brings in exactly the right amount of positivity you need in these strange times.

Who is DJ Lahar?

His real name is Rowan Leahy from France but originally from New Zealand where also the roots for his DJ alias are found. “Lahar” is actually a Hawaiian Maori term for volcanic mudflow, which described his deep, dark and dangerous music style at that time of his DJ career.

After DJ Lahar started DJing in the late 90’s / early 2000’s when he lived in the UK he got introduced in the London clubbing scene and played at established venues like” Ministry Of Sound, Turnmills and London Astoria, to just name a few of the places he played at. Fast forward into time his career spend over more places across the globe. Growing older and having other priorities his DJ business became less of a priority but he never lost the love for music and occasionally drops a hot DJ set somewhere like this one ex...

Where I through curation and a 2 hour mix-session show you what’s good to listen to and or play in your own DJ sets, whether they are in the charts or not.

After two weeks in a row of having awesome guest DJ’s with our beloved friend from North Macedonia “Dragan Kucirov” who was here for the 3th time doing an exclusive deep house live-mix. And here the lovely “Just Martina” for a very dope disco infused house music session.

Introduction to Dirty Disco 392 & Dragan Kucirov’s guest-mix.

Just like last week I’m once again treating you with an exclusive Dirty Disco guest-mix. If you missed last week, make sure to check out my selection including a very dope disco influenced guest-mix by the lovely Just Martina here.

This time it’s my pleasure to present to you a common face here in the Dirty Disco music shows, our beloved musical friend and DJ from North Macedonia “Dragan Kucirov” who is with us for his 3th exclusive guest-session.

This week’s electronic music podcast episode “Dirty Disco” numero 391 (the 3th of 2021) is a packed one. Mostly filled with quality music, but also a high level of positive feel good vibes. And I’m not bringing it alone! This time I invited the beautiful and very skilled Just Martina to release her soul and lift up yours with an exclusive guest-mix session full of positive flavors.

Next to the selection Just Martina curated for her guest session, there are some new tracks in play from a few big names in the electronic house music scene. Expect new music from A-Trak who collaborated with Ferreck Dawn on a very dope solid house banger released on Fool’s Gold Records.

Another high profile name from the scene is Kerri Chandler who remixed a track by another established name “Bonobo” together with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and their “Heartbreak” release.

It’s a real big pleasure to present to you this week’s guest DJ. Not only does she and I share the passion in music as DJ’s and selectors, we both also have Croatian roots that connect us back to the beautiful country it is. Therefore I’m proud to present to you the in Norway (Oslo) living Just Martina who likes to be defined by ‘just music’.

Martina is no stranger to the electronic music scene as she has been a big part of the Norway house music scene for a while, and played with some of the most well known names in the scene like: Honey Dijon, Free Masons, Sandy Rivera, Nicky Romero, Tom Novy and the Shapeshifters to just name a few.

Recently she took a little break from being a DJ to re-evaluate her work and life, and now she’s back as Just Martina to share her passion in music with the world.

Introduction to a positive strong year ahead with good music in Dirty Disco.

After closing and escaping 2020 with the last episode here. We are welcoming 2021 as a positive strong year to come. Full of good music, health, happiness and motivation to get the best out of you.

However, a positive strong year doesn’t come on it’s own. For positivity to work it needs to be spreaded and shared by you and the people around you. Even though you might love them, you’ll need to ditch all negative things around you or at least start to see some positivity in it.

To help you make this a positive strong year ahead, I will try to inspire you every week in my podcasts with firstly good music and secondly with that motivation to inspire you to live a healthy, happy and positive 2021. The big escape from 2020.

That’s right! Welcome to our big escape from 2020. This is the very last Dirty Disco episode in 2020. And what a strange year has it been, the first real worldwide pandemic for all current living generations. Even though we do escape from 2020 into 2021 the pandemic isn’t over yet. But it does give us a moment to see things through where we can create awareness to live a better 2021 with our without the Coronavirus among us.

Without it being an emotional melancholy end pledge, let’s escape into 2021 where we start with vaccines, whether you like it or not. It’s a good starting point for us to create positivity from. Whatever happens let’s set our target for a positive, strong and healthy year full of laughter, happiness and great music to listen to.

For Dirty Disco things will be the same, i will be here every week. Bringing you a new music commentary show with DJ mix session and new selections.
