While not exactly exposing the "crime of the century" that Trump promised *eyeroll- the Durham report, not unlike it's cousin Mueller does play a role in our favorite pastime, saving democracy, but the execution doesn't look to be a shining moment for  the FBI as it’s trying to persuade Congress that it is a responsible steward of intelligence.

While the 2024 presidential election is more than 18 months away, primaries begin in less than a year and let's face it, we who are plugged in know it's already begun. Trump's campaign is already smearing DeSantis's yet to be declared candidacy and Biden declared with the plea to let him finish the job. 

Public approval of Biden’s job as president has been pretty lackluster for much of his time in the Oval Office, despite the nation’s improved economy and the COVID pandemic entering a new phase under his administration. The general intense vibe in Washington has created a plethora of interesting challenges and Joe has navigated most with his signature behind the wheel of his vintage hunter green corvette in aviators panache for the most part. But does any of that argue for us letting  him finish the job? Did we mention he is 80?

Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and the rest of the Fox Network lied to your fucking faces.

Instead of being responsible humans and calling for calm (the calm they were certainly texting each other about OFF camera we later learned) they lied to your fucking faces. They perpetuated a mob. They endangered lives. They spun a tale of lies and nonsense. FOR RATINGS! They didn’t even believe their own bullshit! They didn’t care about anything but the success of their pathetic No News Network. Rupert Murdoch wrote a $787 BILLION check to make it go away, and it is up to US to make sure he wrote that check in vain. Never forget the unethical, traitorous, string of pathetic, dangerous, self-serving fucking LIES they told you. It matters. They are garbage. The 2024 election cycle is already in full swing if you are paying attention, and it is up to you to do what you can as an American and as a member of the Dirty Moderate Nation to make sure all of the lies they told and will continue to tell don’t gain and traction. Vote. Volunteer. Educate your cranky old Uncle. Discuss things with your Karen of a neighbor. Donate to reputable org’s that fight like hell alongside us to save democracy. Let’s make their awful, autocratic loving bullshit agenda disappear faster than a McDonald’s filet-o-fish on Trump’s desk.

He faces two criminal counts: unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information and the unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material for publishing top-secret Pentagon documents on Discord.

Professor, political theorist, and author, Aurelian Craiutu, who has been researching the elusive virtue of moderation for over a decade sits down with Adam to discuss the complexities, richness, and virtue of our very favorite approach to politics.

Despite being a complex virtue with a rich tradition and unexplored radical sides, Moderation is often presented as a simple virtue for lukewarm and indecisive minds searching for a fuzzy center between the extremes. Not surprisingly, politicians generally haven't been willing to be labelled 'moderates'. But if we making our way through much of the group think and kool-aid drenched messaging coming from each of the parties will reveal more moderates in this country than we may think.

Moderation is a form of courage that requires swimming against the current and assuming important risks.  *We see you Ms. Cheney and Mr Kinzinger #fella

Moderates do not have a fixed political truth; they prefer the risk of appearing politically schizoid to becoming fanatic believers in a single dogma. They understand that aligning themselves with the Left or with the Right is often, in the words of Spanish philosopher Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955),  “only one of the numberless ways open to man of being an imbecile: both are forms of moral hemiplegia.”

Aurelian Craiutu (Ph.D. Princeton, 1999) is Professor in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University, Bloomington, and Adjunct Professor in the American Studies Program and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropic Studies at IUPUI, Indianapolis. Craiutu’s research interests include French political and social thought (Montesquieu, Tocqueville, Constant, Madame de Staël, Guizot, Aron), political ideologies (liberalism, conservatism), comparative political theory and democratic consolidation (mostly Central and Eastern Europe). He is the author and editor of several books on modern political thought including the marvelous and thought provoking title coming out this August Why Not Moderation? Letters to Young Radicals which you can pre order now, and while you wait, you can peruse his previous books here.  We are making our way through them ourselves! Ben Brantley was the chief theater critic of The New York Times for more than 20 years. He wrote more than 2,500 reviews over 27 years beginning in 1993.

During Adam’s first act as a Broadway Producer, Ben and Adam “passed each other in the theater aisle” so to speak. Ben reviewed some of Adam’s biggest hits and being consummate professionals, they would not engage while reviews were underway. But in between shows, and now that Ben has taken his last bow as a theater critic having retired to the bucolic Hudson River Valley, Adam and Ben have a proper sit down to discuss all things Broadway and beyond. One you cannot miss! 

Before joining The Times, Ben was a staff writer for the New Yorker and Vanity Fair. He reviewed fashion for Women’s Wear Daily, where he was the Paris bureau chief and European editor; and reviewed movies for Elle magazine. He grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C., and graduated from Swarthmore College. He is the editor of two books of New York Times theater reviews and a recipient of the George Jean Nathan Award for theater criticism.

News media outlets in America have their own self-serving agendas. It's no secret MSNBC leans left and yes; surprise, surprise, FOX leans right and so on. When it comes to delivering the news to the citizens of this fine nation, the current day media are most certainly spinning it through their own lens which is irresponsible, and in some instances; dangerous. For example, Ivermectin anyone?

That is not an agenda. That is SCIENCE. If you'd like to take the advice of some random guy on the street who hates Fauci's face over teams of brilliant scientists coming to conclusions after extensive laboratory research, bro-do you.
