We are joined this week by guest Dumisani Washington to discuss his book Zionism & the Black Church: Why Standing with Israel will be a Defining Issue for Christians of Color in the 21st Century. The book is a discussion of Africa’s ancient connection to Israel and the Jewish people, and the historic Black-Jewish synergy in America.
We look this week at the fact that there is a blessing for reading, hearing, and keeping the things that are written in the book of Revelation.
A lot of things are happening in the world. We take this week to look at current events (Olympics opening ceremony, Israel, and identity politics) from a Biblical worldview.
The word “Revelation” is a translation of the Greek word apokalypsis, which means “an unveiling”. The word “revelation” is found eighteen times in the New Testament. The word means “to show or expose to view”, as the unveiling of a sculpture is a “revelation”. This book is the unveiling of Jesus Christ.
Was the assassination attempt of Donald Trump fulfillment of Revelation 13:3 (And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.)? We will listen to a sermon by Pastor Logan Fowler of Truth Baptist Church that addresses this question and more. We also discuss whether Revelation 13:3 is a reference to a human, a government, or both.

“Don’t read that book – it will drive you crazy – it will make you lose your mind!” That was the all-too-often response that I would hear as a child when the topic of the book of Revelation was mentioned. But I want to demonstrate that you can understand the book of Revelation in this introduction as we kick off a verse-by-verse study through God's conclusion of His plan of redemption.
We will listen to part 3 of a sermon given by Dr. Cedric Oliver, former pastor of Embassies of Christ in Gary, Indiana. Pastor Oliver teaches that we are to not conform to the world but be transformed when we go to the ballot box to vote.
