Which is not a good sign, in the least

I kept getting distracted when listening to this audiobook. Which is not a good sign, in the least. So distracted, in fact, that I had to go to Wikipedia to remind myself of everything about this story but the end!

I've read plenty of Lovecraft, but this one just can not keep me focused. Normally, Lovecraft sort of straddles old Victorian-era horror and modern horror, but this felt all Victorian. As in, perhaps the idea was original once, but it's been done so many times since, and pretty much always better.

Go for other Lovecraft, if you're looking for an intro to the man.
