These books are excellent! They break down these documents into layman's terms. I have used these books to teach a political science class for elementary ages at our home school co op. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is a good book to use to create a lesson plan on the Gettysburg Address. I broke the students up in group and gave each a paragraph. They wrote what their interpretation and then I used the book to read the actual interpretation.

Awesome for transition readers.

Absolutely precious stories. This book is a good book for children that are just in between the reading of juvenile fiction and the harder adult time novels. The chapters are self contained, meaning that each new chapter is a different topic than the one before, however it is all about the same family and the characters stick with the reader in a delightful playful manner.

I grew up on some of these stories, and my kids did too -- as soon as I realized that there were many of these stories (written for a Boston newspaper in the 19th century) and they had been collected into a book. Take these stories in small doses. The silly pickles that the Perterkins get themselves into can seem repetitious after a while.

The Peterkin Papers

This is one of my favorite books from my childhood years. Now I read about this silly Peterkin Family to my granddaughter and she loves them, too.

That is a shame because the "The Peterkin Papers" are wonderful little stories that small children can really engage ...

This Kindle edition is faulty. There are missing sections and sometimes the first words of a story are not there. This needs to be digitized. The first part of the first story is not even there. That is a shame because the "The Peterkin Papers" are wonderful little stories that small children can really engage in.

Great Book

I have read the A-List also by Zoey Dean. I didn't thoroughly enjoy the whole entire series

Good

This book was strictly checked out for my to read with my cousin's step daughter, in the past I have spent time over at her house reading her some of Harry Potter and many of other kids books. We even found my cousin's and mine collection of old The Boxcar Children books that we had read growing up. But I gave her a list of books that would be good and that I knew we would have a chance to finish this week long holiday and was able to find this book. It was not really short, but it was also not as long as the first Harry Potter so I knew I would not have to find time once the vacation was over for me go out to her house and continue reading with her.

If you have younger girls this is a great book about Junior High girls and life lessons on friendship, self discovery, and lying. It was not something that as a twenty-five year old I would have chosen to read for myself but to read with a young girl I would. Sophie's favorite part of the book was reading the itinerary for each character from the iPhone to the notepad.

Now that you have an idea of who this book was meant for, here is some of my thoughts. Personally I did enjoy reading this book, I did read ahead each day to make sure that we would not be reading anything that needed to stay out of a young girls head. The story line for Mac was my favorite, her not believing that she fit in with her family of famous or over achievers. No, she was just the daughter who was fixing to start the eighth grade. I mean who has not felt that way at some point in their life? They do not belong since they are not as smart as their younger sibling or not as famous as either of their parents.

This story also has some of my favorite parts of any book the love story on the side. I just seem to be a romantic at heart so reading a good book that has that happy love story is exactly what I needed and this, though not completely revolved around the love story does show some great promise with two of the girls having a future with love in one of the other two books in the series. Will I ever find out what happens in later books? I have no idea. As of right now that are on my TBR list but they are no where near the top and I am in no hurry to try to read them.

I read this book in the early 70s after the author spoke at my elementary school in Washington, D.C.. The story always resonated with me. I sought out the book last year and was surprised to find a copy after all of these years. I still am j lasted by the story.

This book is a part of who i am

I see the first publication of this book was in 1972. I read it in 1979 and I had put this story in my mental rolodex. Until 2004 something happened and I realized the situation I was experiencing was like something I had heard or seen in . Immediatley I thought of this book. I don't know why this book has stayed with me. It is a great book and should be in your personal library.

I liked reading this novel. The beginning was boring and hard to understand. As I kept on reading, the book became clearer and interesting. The main character was Joseph. He was a young poor, black man always in the streets. He hasn't done much with his life, but he's looking to do better. He dropped out of school at a young age. He went back to school attending during the night, and still working a day job. During the story, Joe [short for Joseph]doesn't focus on anyone as much as his younger brother David. David was very smart and very athletic, but his mother didn't notice. She was always focusing on her eldest, useless, drug addicted son Paul and he brought nothing but trouble. Joe would do anything to help David. He was on his way to the navy to set an example for David, and there was nothing good for him at home. When he left he gave all his money he saved to David because he knew that he would do something good with the money.

I would recommend this book to everyone. The lesson to be learned is don't mess around in school or in the streets. Make life a good one because it can be gone with a quickness.

Bejewelled with great characters and twisting plots

Crop spraying with bullets? - Organic farming. Another brilliant story by Horowitz superbly narrated by Nick grace. Very amusing.

Really good entertainment.

Would recommend. Narrator good. Story good. Easy to listen to. We are enjoying the series.

My daughters loved it.

My daughters (aged 7,9,11) loves the Diamond brother adventures. We travel a lot in the car everyday. I found its the best way to stop the sibling bickering at the back seat. We all listen and laugh at the puns and the silliness of Tim.

a sleeper for colfer

This book sort of crept into being, we found it while Airman seemed to get more promo, ( also great)Colfer doesn't dissapoint, nor does the narrator. Wonderfully fast paced well told, quippy and witty. Benny is at that tender turning point in development, toys, sports, girls, and all the angst that comes from the above. My 11 year old has listened to it repeatedly, and its got to be good for him to do that.

love it, the stories were fun and entertaining, and the performance of each one was on point.i don't know if this was suppose to be a kids book but I'm long past that and I enjoyed it from beginning to end

Teachers, when you are teaching the students about slicksters and tricksters, this is the book. The characters are larger than life and like family. Great stories!
