Not a bad start to the series

I, like a lot of people love the idea of Atlantis, so any SciFi references are must reads(listens) for me.

The overall story was good. Theres quite a bit of adventure and romance, but I felt like there was a bit too much filler that didnt need to be there and made the storyline drag, and like a lot of new series the end comes fast and theres a lot of unexplained things that hopefully will get lined out in the next addition. I thought the ending couldve have been better and still left room for future volumes.

The narrator was fantastic. Very well spoken and well prepared. She seemed like she had read the book and knew exactly where the nuances should be.

Cozy?

James Reynolds has a wonderful voice for these Christmas tales!

I think there were 3 shorts I didnt particularly care for. Just because it didnt feel Christmas-y.

Two were really non heart warming. Too sad ... so these truly arent cozy.

Most had the theme of home, hope, family, love.

Its a holiday book, but not a totally feel good. I wouldnt recommend to sit and listen to all of the stories at once. Perhaps over the course of a few weeks.

A Wonderful Read

There are those books that just draw you into the characters and leave you wanting more. This is one of those books. There is so much raw emotion and family drama and I found myself unable to put the book down. I am so glad there is a sequel waiting for me rather than me waiting for the sequel. I want to know what happens to Jess as she makes the choice to leave her family and continue her run from God and those who love her. A wonderful read.

Winter's Prey was a great read, and I can't wait for the sequel to come out, so I can continue the story of this dear family. Some of the situations are near to ones in my own family, and I was glad to see someone write a story of a family dealing with those situations with grace, yet recognizing the struggle and strain those problems caused for the family. The author did a good job of portraying a Godly family, struggling through hard times, yet recognizing their blessings and how great God is through it all. Much more than a romance novel or a pioneer western, this book blessed and encouraged me.

God's Will

We all have to claim God's will and choices in our daily lives. This story show how our reactions to His plan can either send us forward or keep us apart from Him. It challenges us to look at our own lives to see how we are reacting day by day. While all the problems brought up in the story are not reconciled at the end of this book, it makes you desire soon to get notice of the next book.

AMISH WIDOW's ESCAPE by Samantha Price. Book 11 in "Expectant Amish Widows" series

Bridget losing her husband after 10 years, and taking 6 months off from her job as a graphic designer. Trying to make decisions, which didn't seem to be the right ones. Needing peace and new surrounding she finds a cabin that will offer her that. The motherly landlord, giving her the love and concern she needs. Once again her life has drastically changed, but she would accept it with time. It was all the other things, a house that hasn't sold. Then having dinner with Dan, and helping him, brings another concern. Her landlord, Ruth points out he is Amish, and they marry for life.

Thinking of her short marriage, which was based on friendship. Her parents just living in same house, that was not what she would want.

Samantha's story deals with an issue that has no easy answers. It will take a lot of soul's searching and time for Bridget. Time for old patterns and hurts to heal. Readers will enjoy this moving story, and ponder what she will decide. Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Don't know when I have laughed so much. a group of octigenarian ladies and their baking skills. A clean fun audiobook. Highly recommend this book!!
