Love hearing the story from the Angels point of view. the back and forth between the Angels and the principal people in the story was very interesting. I read all the books but to be able to just sit back relax and close my eyes as I listened put me right in the middle of the story. I was able to hear see and feel each character.

    Publisher's Summary:
A mystical adventure tale on the Sufi path of love.
Here is a tale set on the path of the heart, a mystical adventure wherein a modern-day Sufi master sends seven companions on a quest for the original ring of power and the greatest treasure of the ancient world - King Solomon's ring. It is the very same seal ring of a hundred legends, given to King Solomon by God to command the Jinn, those terrifying demons of living fire.
By sea and across deserts, they are led by a strange faqir guide of many names. Through the mightiest of storms and into a lost city, the travelers come at last to the gateway of the Subtle Realm, the land of the Jinn.
But the quest has a strange effect on everyone chosen to go: visions enter their dreams, remembrances and tears fill their hearts, and mysteries abound; unearthly storms and unending night, the Gates of Heaven open at last, and invincible demons of smokeless fire. It is a tale woven of ancient legends found in the Old Testament, the Talmud, and the Koran, and although it is set in the present, the search for the truth of the ring leads them into a circle of ageless destiny, where the companions discover not only the fate of the Jinn, but also the path of love and the infinite mercy of God.

A beautiful tale of mercy and love
Would you consider the audio edition of Master of the Jinn to be better than the print version?
In some ways, yes. First, it is narrated by Irving Karchmar himself and his mersmerising voice keeps one deeply engaged with the story. Second, it gives one the flexibility to listen to it while working or driving so while one may miss holding an actual book (or reading device!), the audio edition has its uses
What other book might you compare Master of the Jinn to and why?
I don't usually read supernatural fiction so cannot compare it with any other book.
    Which scene was your favorite?
"The Masters eyes caught mine as if he read my thought. Write this also, young scholar, he said. Man and Jinn have no part in repentance, because repentance is from God to His creatures, not from them to God. It is a Divine gift, and may all here be worthy of it, for it is given when He wills, and to whom He wills, as the two thieves in our company will bear witness."
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Master of the Jinn is not a story that you can listen to only once and since it is a very long narration, one cannot listen to it in one sitting. It has to be listened to many times before one can begin to understand the deep layers of meanings. Each time you listen to the novel, I assure you, you will find something new to wonder.
    Any additional comments?
Irving Karchmar spent twelve years writing his masterpiece which interweaves theological references from two beautiful religions Judaism and Islam.

    Outstanding!
Again, Davis Nunn has captured history and faith in a vivid story. The characters and plot interact and flow in rhythm that is enjoyable and interestingly surprising. This is my second time reading this book. I shall read it again, I am sure!

    Delivers!
I dont usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will be watching for this author in the future.
    * I was provided a free copy of this book from AudioBookBlast for an honest review.
    Loved this inspirational book!
I loved everything about this book! First of all, I loved it because of it's genre - inspirational fiction. I love clean, inspiring books about people who know and love God. But knowing and loving God do not prevent people from having problems. Sharon Srock does a beautiful job creating characters that are believable and torn in their walks of life. Diane Marty did a wonderful job narrating this book, giving voices to the characters. I can't wait to read and listen to more from both the author and narrator.
I was given a copy of this audio book by the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
    Beautiful Story
I really enjoyed listening to this story. the plot was well weaved throughout. Godly insight and real storyline that was resolved over time. looking forward to more by this author.
    A compelling heartwarming listen
    Any additional comments?
This started off a little slow for me but it didnt take me long to get into this story of broken hearts, sorrow, healing, forgiveness and the faith one women has in God as he leads her to find the answers for a small family who has lost everything in return finding forgiveness for herself. It is really hard to put yourself out there helping others and making the correct decisions never knowing if it will come back to haunt you. So many times we maybe should have stepped in but turn away not because we do not care but because of what the fall out might be. In this story one woman didnt turn away but stepped up to the plate helping a young mother keep her child. The fall out was of the little boy losing his life and leaving Callie devastated knowing in some way she took part in killing an innocent child. It doesnt matter that others step forward and help the family keep the child it is that she did. She cant see beyond her own guilt. When another family comes along that needs her help she wants to step back but her belief in God and what he wants her to do will not let her. This is what the story is based aroundthe trial of pain, sorrow of two families finding their way and leading one to the word of God as he changes their life.

    Publisher's Summary:
Isaac Markowitz, an eczema-riddled Lower East Side haberdasher, moves to Israel to repair his broken heart and becomes, much to his own surprise, the assistant to a famous old rabbi who dispenses wisdom (and soup) to the troubled souls who wash up in his courtyard. It is there that he meets the flame-haired Tamar, a newly religious young American hipster on a mission to live a spiritual life with a spiritual man. Into both of their lives comes Mustafa, a devout Muslim who, deformed at birth, makes his living as a janitor on the Temple Mount, holy to both Muslims and Jews.
When Mustafa finds an ancient shard of pottery that may date back to the first temple, he brings it to Isaac as a token of friendship. That gesture sets in motion a series of events that lands Isaac in the company of Israel's worst criminal riffraff, puts Mustafa in mortal danger, and leaves Tamar struggling to save them both.
As these characters - immigrants and natives, Muslim and Jewish, prophets and lost souls - move through their world, they are never sure if they will fall prey to the cruel tricks of luck or be sheltered by a higher power.

    Language: English
    Release date: 11-10-15
    Publisher: Hachette Audio

    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
From the acclaimed Rick Moody, a darkly comic portrait of a man who comes to life in the most unexpected of ways: through his online reviews.
Reginald Edward Morse is one of the top reviewers on RateYourLodging.com, where his many reviews reveal more than just details of hotels around the globe - they tell his life story.
The puzzle of Reginald's life comes together through reviews that comment upon his motivational speaking career, the dissolution of his marriage, the separation from his beloved daughter, and his devotion to an amour known only as "K". But when Reginald disappears, we are left with the fragments of a life - or at least the life he has carefully constructed - which writer Rick Moody must make sense of.
An inventive blurring of the lines between the real and the fabricated, Hotels of North America demonstrates Moody's masterly ability to push the bounds of the novel.
    Critic Reviews:
"Moody's powers of invention, his ease in his own prose, his ability to develop interesting characters - in short, his enormous gifts as a writer - are on full display here. And when he wants to write a gorgeous paragraph, he delivers as you know he can, even when he's still spoofing." (The New York Times Book Review)
"His subtlest and most darkly comical performance yet." (Chicago Tribune)

    Absorbing read
I listened to an interview with Rick Moody on CBC's Writers and Company and bought the book on audible right after the episode. What a delightful read on a grey November day. A book about hotels with some references to beds and I only slept 4 hours in mine because I didn't want to stop listening.
One of those rare books when I was sad that it would end when i was only halfway through the book. I enjoyed the tone and pace of the narrator but would have enjoyed hearing the author narrate the last chapter. For reasons you may appreciate once you read the book. I will check out other writings by Rick Moody.
    Definitely NOT for everyone!
Overall, the book worked for me, but I'd be very hesitant in recommending it to my friends. Starts out in the vein of a cranky hotel reviewer, but that aspect fades until the latter part of the book is pretty much all about his personal life, which is basically a dysfunctional mess (by implication). I suppose that if I had to describe the story in a single word that'd be "quirky"; however, there's also an aspect of Murakami-like surrealism at times - a collection of dark vignettes, if you will.
I uprated my stars slightly as the narration really helped carry the story. Not sure what I thought of the final chapter, where the author comments on the protagonist, but I suppose it does succeed in providing a sort of closure.
Definitely interested in more from the author, and even more so from the narrator!
A Clever Idea but ultimately a bit of a bore
What disappointed you about Hotels of North America?
The idea of telling the life of the hotel reviewer through his reviews was an intriguing idea but, for me, many of the 'reviews' were dreary and pretentious. Not a very interesting character to build a novel around it seemed.

What happens when the race to stop a lethal bacteria becomes a race to stop a killer? Dr. Sara Miles' teenage patient is on the brink of death from an overwhelming, highly resistant infection with Staph luciferus, known to doctors as "the killer". Only an experimental antibiotic, developed and administered by Sara's ex-husband, can save the girl's life. But potentially lethal effects from the drug send Sara and her colleague, Dr. Rip Pearson, on a hunt for hidden critical data that will let them reverse the effects before it's too late. What is the missing puzzle piece? And who is hiding it?
    Critic Reviews:
"Lethal Remedy boasts a gripping medical plot that only an insider could write so believably.... Dr. Mabry takes his knowledge of the medical profession, combines it with a ticking clock, and gives the reader a problem we'd all be terrified to face. What more could the reader of a good medical suspense ask for?" (Susan Sleeman, author of Behind the Badge and The Justice Agency series)
"Lethal Remedy is the perfect cure for boredom: a first-rate medical thriller with humor, engaging characters, and realism that only a seasoned doctor could bring to the story." (Rick Acker, author of When the Devil Whistles and Blood Brothers)
    Members Reviews:
    Great book!
Lethal Remedy is my first read by Richard Mabry, but not my last. I'm glad to see he's got more out there for me to get started right away. Lethal Remedy held my interest from start to finish, mainly because I saw it as realistic. Surely this type of thing happens more frequently than we care to admit. Greed makes humans do despicable things!
    Drugs Do Work.
I gave this book a five star rating because it was well written. It is a teaching aid in medical terms. I also like how well the author kept the suspense building and making a mystery of giant proportions by the end of the book. I liked the relationships among the characters, and of course the medical and clinical settings. It was great to see the characters were believers who turned to The Lord when they couldn't handle their problems.
This would be appropriate for young adults on up to read.
A Very Well Done Medical Thriller.
Dr. Mabry writes detailed, intriguing medical thrillers with the authority of someone who has been in the trenches of medicine. They are fun to read, and not too convoluted or bloody.
This story about a corrupt pharma company, trying to fast track a new and effective but dangerous drug, is not too far from the truth, in some cases. So many new drugs today have a list of side effects several pages long, and often include: "may cause death in rare cases."
So read this fiction, and remember to check those side effects before you take a brand new drug!
Medical Suspense written by a medical doctor
My favorite suspense books are often related to hospitals and the practice of medicine. This book is about greed cancelling the promise made when doctors pledge the Hippocratic Oath, and other doctors seeking the truth.
    Good book
Good book, being in the medical field my entire working life, now I'm retired, made the book more interesting but I didn't think it was quite as good as the book I read before this one by the same author it may have been "Code Blue".

    Delightful!
I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed listening to each story in this book. I am an avid reader, but never really considered the Amish community to be of interest to me, till I read and listened to the "Plan Fame" series by Sarah Price. Truthfully, I am enthralled by their simplicity, local customs and belief system. Thank you Audible for providing this type of material for your customers.

    Another Year In Green, Louisiana
This second book in the Gone To Green series picks up exactly where book one ended without missing a beat or changing the tone of the storytelling. Often, the first book in a series will be good but then the follow-up books lose steam. Thankfully that isn't the case here. Further, I think Ochs continues to do a good job with the narration, always a plus.
In this book the author expands on the concepts of local corruption and trouble in the community, but at the same time maintains a positive message. There is a strong sense that anything is possible. I might like a little more detail and occasionally a bit more character development, but overall I like this series so far. For me this is a low stress, upbeat and comfortable entry in the Religious/Inspirational genre.
