    Publisher's Summary:
Best-selling author of The Reason for God Timothy Keller returns with a book that focuses on the very heart of faith - a meditation on the life of Jesus. Unpredictable yet reliable, gentle yet powerful, authoritative yet humble, human yet divine.
Respected pastor and best-selling author Tim Keller takes a deep and thought-provoking look at the life of Christ. Drawing from Mark's Gospel, he explains how Jesus' identity as king and his purpose in dying on the cross have meaning and significance on a cosmic scale as well as for the individual.
The Reason for God gave a passionate and intellectually compelling case for God while The Prodigal God explored the Gospel's central message of grace. Now King's Cross gives a captivating account of the person at the heart of it all: Jesus.
This audiobook will unlock new insights for believers and unbelievers alike.

A new look at an old story - unwrapping the gospel of Mark
Tim Keller is a New York Times best selling author, speaker, and the founding pastor of the 5,000 person Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. "King's Cross" is a look at the life of Jesus Christ as told from the gospel of Mark. The book is essentially a biography of Jesus and explores His identity and purpose.
In "King's Cross" Keller helps the reader see that the nucleus of other religions is advice, but the focus of Christianity is news. Other religions say, "This is what you have to do in order to connect to God", but the gospel says, "This is how Jesus lived and died to earn the way to God for you." The gospel is that God connects to you. It is not centered on what you've done but what Jesus has done for you. That makes the gospel fundamentally different from every other religion or philosophy. Keller does a splendid job of using historical, anthropological and sociological information to add greater depth to an already well-known story.
The author asks, "Why would God make us?" There's only one response. He created us not to get happiness but to give it. The Bible says that our real trouble is that we as Christians are creating our identity in something besides Jesus. We treat our Savior as the filler and not the substance.
Most readers of "King's Cross" will already be intimately familiar with the gospel of Mark. What is so attractive about Keller's book is the depth it adds to our understanding and analysis of this familiar gospel story. He provides additional layers of substance and clarity that may cause many Bible readers to find new comprehension and depth. This book should appeal to the challenging secular intellectual and the committed follower of Christ.
    A Drink of Cool Water
Such a refreshing read, a needed change from Christianity how-to books or books about how to use Christianity to make your life better. Keller's focus on the "great dance" of love between the three persons of the Trinity, and what happens when we humans regain our place in that dance brought me to tears of mingled joy and sorrow more than once. The gospel, as he says, is not about what we need to do in order to achieve heaven; it is about what has already been done for us.

Title: The Gospel & Same-Sex Marriage

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 2 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-01-16
    Publisher: christianaudio.com
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 3 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Christian's should be known by what they are for, not simply what they are against.
The Bible is unambiguously clear about marriage's definition and purpose. So, Christians are for marriage. The Bible's witness on marriage doesn't allow for same-sex marriage, not because the Bible gives attention to same-sex marriage, but because the biblical narrative on marriage doesn't conceive of same-sex marriage as within the realm of possibility. Yet, many Christians live among neighbors and under law-makers who disagree. So, what now?
Editors Russell Moore and Andrew T. Walker of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) assemble leading voices to frame the issues with a gospel-centered perspective. The Gospel for Life series gives every believer a biblically-saturated understanding of the most urgent issues facing our culture today, because the gospel is for all of life.
    Members Reviews:
    Fantastic
This a great book on a very tough topic. The authors did a phenomenal job of treating it with grace without compromising the truth.
Great Gospel Discussion on Same-Sex Marriage
In June B&H began The Gospel for Life Series, edited by Russell Moore and Andrew Walker, which connects the gospel message with everyday life issues. Both Moore and Walker serve at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention and, Moore especially, have written and spoken extensively on gospel responses to the ethical issues Christianâs face.
The books are structured around answering five questions: What are we for?, What does the gospel say?, How should the Christian live?, How should the church engage?, What does the culture say? For example, in answering What are we for?, the authors all begin in Genesis with creation. This starting point intentionally grounds all discussion within the framework of creation which is the beginning of the biblical story line of creation, fall, redemption, and re-creation/consummation. This creation starting point helps us to see Godâs intention within these various issues and in turn helps us to see what has gone wrong with them as a result of the fall. Some readers will be challenged by the creational foundations of religious liberty presented by Andrew Walker in the book on The Gospel & Religious Liberty. This was a new concept for me and something I will continue to think about.
Another helpful aspect of this series is how it frames the Christians response within the community of the Church. So, it is not enough for the individual Christian to be equipped to respond to the culture but it is the collective witness of the whole Church, the bride of Christ, that should speak loudly to these issues with the truth of the gospel. For example, when it comes to racial reconciliation, the Church needs to have the conversation about it, yes, even all white churches, because, as Trillia Newbell writes in The Gospel & Racial Reconciliation, âThe problem is, race continues to be talked about because there continue to be problems. And there continue to be problems because often conversations about race revolve around racism. And these conversations centered on racism happen because people are racist.

    Publisher's Summary:
What is there about a dying church that brings glory to God? Mark Clifton's convicting answer is "nothing". Because a local church is intended to represent the work of God in a community, when that church "loses it saltiness", not only is God's work pictured as irrelevant in that community, but also dishonor and disrepute may well become associated with God's name as a result.
In Reclaiming Glory, Clifton draws not only upon his own burden for revitalizing dying churches but also upon years of church replanting experience to offer passionate counsel for how to breathe new life into a dying church...all for the glory of the God who is building his church upon the immovable rock of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

An Important Resource To Bring Hope To Dying Churches
Excellent!!! Very important resource to help bring hope and encouragement to churches in decline. Clifton writes from experience, as one who has led effective biblical revitalization through humble, godly, biblical leadership. This book not only helps us to think through church revitalization both biblically and theologically, but it gives us practical tools on how to carry out this vital ministry. I highly recommend this book! I know I will be using it to help equip men in our church who are being trained to shepherd and revitalize dying congregations.

Reclaiming Glory it's an excellent and encouraging book for the pastor who seeks to bring a dying church back to life or for a member of a dying church who longs to see God glorified by the church being revived. The principles that Mark explains make sense and they are not too complicated. By keeping strategies simple they can be easier to reproduce in any context. My hope is that many pastors who seek to lead their churches in revitalization or replanting will read this book.
    A blessing to any ministry!
I work in rural ministry, in the panhandle of Nebraska, in the eastern plains of Colorado. This book is very much this book is very much a wonderful tool for congregations that are struggling to keep their doors open, and that may be headed for closure, this helps to understand The importance of leaving a legacy. It was definitely a blessing in our ministry!
    Five Stars
A must read for any serious church member....
This book is designed to scare you away!!!
If you think God might be steering your heart towards church replanting or anything close to it then this book should so frighten you that you abandon any notion you might be a church replanter. If it frightens you more, however, to miss out on what God might be willing to do through you as a church replanter, then by all means get it, read it, and prayerfully consider your future.

    Short but remarkable prayers.
How sincere! 80+ prayers that we can utter and make our moment with HIM worth spending. These includes prayers to show gratitude, daily devotion to the Lord, prayers of praises and worship, and prayers in times of trials. Theyre short so theyre easy to remember and very specific.
    Love it
Powerful prayers for everyday circumstances and difficulties.Love these daily prayers. They are simple to understand and meaningful.
    Good variety of prayers
This was a great review of wonderful everyday prayers that we all should understand or at least know about and have on hand.Good variety of prayers.Thank you for sharing these book of amazing prayers to our Lord Christ, blessed.
    Pretty comprehensive collection of prayers
What I found was a lot of prayers on diverse topics, many of which look to be worded before the arrival of the "conversational," simple prayer that modern churches are now repeating. The idea following this was to gain prayer deeper and less mechanical.
As well, this is a pretty comprehensive collection of prayers and I think that many followers will find inspiration here in the time of need.
    Awesome
This is an outstanding source to have. It supports you to see the value of a prayer life. It has to suit a lifestyle, building a connection with our Father, the God of everything is supreme! This book does this and more...I would suggest it to everyone!

A must read handbook for any Christian
This book is one of the most encouraging and insightful treatments of the Christian life available. It will encourage you, teach you, convict you and lead you to a much more sanctified life when accompanied with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pastors must read it, unbelievers may be saved by it and it is an excellent tool for training your family at home.
You will not be disappointed if you take this book in piece by piece even over a long period of time. Each section is divided into its own book so don't be concerned about its length.
As I look over the other books I have downloaded I am disappointed knowing they are unlikely to be as helpful as this one.
    Outstanding
excellent book with deep insights from a true man of God nearly a hundred and fifty years ago.
    Needs a different voice
I think the voice makes the material boring. Would like to hear the book with a different voice
    Serious, Sombre and Soul Searching
This book needs to be listened to many times. It cannot be taken lightly. It covers many aspects of Christianity that you may not have thought about and therefore need to seriously consider.
You may or may not agree with everything discussed here, but you cannot dismiss it all either. If you are serious about the practical practice of religion (Christianity), then you need to study this carefully. Possibly in a group or with at least one theologically minded person. (Pastor, Minister, Lay-preacher, Priest)!
If you are struggling with your Christianity, you may definitely need to have someone listen to this with you, so take advantage of the 'share' option.
Either way, you will learn a great deal. This is money well spent. Commit to it - it's lengthy but worth it - and on your second pass, I'm certain that you will have made lifelong, hopefully eternal, decisions.
    Enjoy.
    Sound Advice
What did you like most about Practical Religion?
    Straightforward call to self examination.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Practical Religion?
Discovering that the narrator wasn't following the text but modernizing it, no doubt for reasons of relevance.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
Well, it's not a novel so it's not about individual scenes but clarity of delivery, and for this top marks, it's good enough to make me overlook the textual departures. Although substituting some other version for the KJV is distinctly annoying. However, along with Ryle's Holiness this is just excellent for exposing the deceit of the heart.

Better than expected after the first chapter...
If you could sum up The Good Heart in three words, what would they be?
    Over-analyzed, Interesting, Meaningful
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Dalai Lama's interpreter, I Just felt like he was listening to the Dalai Lama with the same contemplative anticipation that I was and I felt a sort of kinship with him from the start.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When The Dalai Lama Told the joke that caused his interpreter uncontrollable giggles.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Anytime the Dalai Lama expressed his gratitude or sense of closeness to his fellow man is moving.
    Any additional comments?
I almost gave this book up because I feel like the writer was interjecting too much of his own interpretation of what the Dalai Lama meant into it and I can not stand to be told what I'm supposed to take away from an abstract concept! So I almost swapped this book out for another one but I managed to stick it out by simply ignoring those parts but there were a lot of them so it was a pain, but the overall book is worth the listen, and hey if you are the type of person who enjoys other people telling you what you're supposed to glean from someone else's wisdom then this intrusive habit of the writer's shouldn't bother you!
    A faith renewed through compassion
'The Good Heart' is the most inspirational and heartfelt interpretation of the altruistic nature of Jesus Christ I have ever encountered.

    Publisher's Summary:
Ten Who Changed the World is seminary president Daniel Akin's powerful tribute to the transformational work done by some truly inspiring Christian missionaries. With each profile he journeys into the heart of that gospel servant's mission-minded story and makes a compelling connection to a similar account from the Bible.
David Brainerd (1718-1747; missionary to Native Americans) reminds Akin of Paul's missionary life in 2 Timothy. The faithful ministry of George Leile (1750-1820; missionary to Jamaica) is aligned with Galatians 6. William Carey (1761-1834; missionary to India) lives out the Great Commission of Matthew 28. There are parallels between Adoniram Judson (1788-1850; missionary to Burma) and Romans 8. Lottie Moon (1840-1912; missionary to China) displays the power of a consecrated life described in Romans 12. The work of James Fraser (1886-1938; missionary to China) illustrates Revelation 5. Eric Liddell (1902-1945; missionary to China), his life documented in the film Chariots of Fire, illuminates Hebrews 12. Together, John (1907-1934) and Betty Stam (1906-1934; missionaries to China) embodied Psalm 67. William Wallace (1908-1951; missionary to China) was a shining example of Philippians 1. Jim Elliot (1927-1956; missionary to Ecuador) is a bold reminder of Psalm 96.
