Guilty as charmed

First the negatives. There was no reason to bring in the story of a slutty "friend" that tries her moves on the main man. It's also hard to believe that so many people would recognize a random Chicago Cubs pitcher (sorry Cub/baseball fans). Finally the one foreboding plot twist is flat and unnecessary.

The positives include Sebastian York's performance (a grand slam, pun intended), a child character that isn't annoying, a cute romance, and Sebastian York. Enjoy!

Love this series!

There was nothing I didn't like about this book! The narrators are great! I absolutely adore Rhys & his character & all the boys & how much they love their sisters & how the girls quickly put them in their places.

Predictable and boring

There wasn't much substance of this novel at all.The climax was weak and I was expecting more to actually happen.

Fun.

Perfect summer read. Light and fluffy. Zero angst. I'm enjoying this family and the accent.

Really like but.......

I love Sebastian York's voice but he doesn't even attempt the New Orleans accent. Just a little disappointing.

Ms WARD I WAS EXPECTING GOOD & YOU GAVE ME GREAT

What a peach, what a find and what an addictive storyline between the deep, complex, moody, tattooed and pierced badboy Elec and his virginal caring step-sister Greta. He was a troubled boy coming to stay with his estranged father and his new ready-made family so the animosity and resentment between father and son was high.. but there were secrets too. And, from the moment Greta and Elec meet at age 17 sparks flew - and not always in a good way but, after many months of understanding, compassion and acceptance from Greta, some of Elec's walls had been scaled and a bond was formed. He was meant to stay for a year but circumstances suddenly change which made them confront their hidden desires and a forbidden night of passion and unspoken feelings followed.. but in the morning he'd still be leaving.

Fast forward seven years Greta's living in NYC with a failed engagement under her belt and she and Elec have to return home for his father's funeral.. and Elec's not alone - so Greta has to try and hide her jealousy, her true feelings and the strong sexual pull Elec has on her.. but it's difficult because she can see he's struggling too. When you finally hear from Elec's POV (from the pages of his book) you see how much he cared, how sweet and tender his feelings were and that there were many layers to his character. Greta had always deep down loved Elec but the timing was never right for them until it was.. and it was everything I'd hoped for when they eventually got their HEA ending. Strong chemistry, a couple of sex scenes, humor, passion, heartache, butterflies, gut churning and toe curlingly awkward scenes, a mega twist and sighworthy romantic chapters made up this very enjoyable listen that was told from Greta's POV.

Loved it!

I'm a real sucker for the sappy ones and even more so for Christmas stories. Life has enough stress and tragedy and reading is an escape from that. it may be old fashioned but I want my "entertainment" to be happy ever after and this story fits the bill!

Quick and fun listen. It was a bit predictable, but that didn't stop it from being a cute story.

Very Good Story Set During the Holidays

Not a bad story. I really did enjoy listening to it. I can't say I really could relate to the characters because there were no similiarities between their lives and mine, but it was still a very enjoyable listen. It doesn't hurt that there is a HEA ending to the story, although you would not have guessed it until the final chapter.

Will Damron does a fine job of narrating this holiday themed book. His pacing was just right and all of his voices were distinct and believable. I just might have to listen to more Nora Roberts stories, especially if Will Damron is the narrator.

Loved it. Love to read a book that turns out good for all concerned at Christmas time. It wad narrated beautifully.

Just okay

I really wanted to like this story bit I found of lacking. I loved the setting and the characters but Kate's role to find the thief kind of got lost.

As far as narration goes, Rachel did a fantastic job, even putting on an accent for Eli's character. Sebastian is a great narrator but I think someone with a true Cajun accent would have been better. It made the story inconsistent and took away from the fantasy.

It's all about "Him".....Sebastian York!!!

I will have to say that I listened to this book due to the Narrator Sebastian York and as usual, he did not disappoint. I truly feel that he could read the medical dictionary and I would be riveted!!

HOWEVER.....the book was very good and I truly enjoyed the performance of Rachel Fulginiti....well done! Looking forward to the next installment.

I really wanted to love this...but,

I am a die hard Sebastian York fan. I will listen to books just because he is the narrator. When I saw him and New Orleans (my favorite place) together I was thrilled!! And while his voice is still perfect, I hope he never utters the words Chere or Bebe again! You can not play a southern Louisiana man without a drawl! I still love him, but that was like nails on a chalk board horrible. To make it worse the female narrator tried (and failed) at the accent.

alright book

Definitely something to read or listen to when you're bored, but other than that, it doesn't have that thing that keeps you going. I think it's too much of a cliche. A good girl getting out in the world experiencing young love. There's nothing special about it that makes you contemplate on it and all that.

The performance was fantastic. She managed to create a whole cast of characters with different voices. The story was great as well, easy, light read.

I liked it a lot I like how Lara Jane was so set on Peter I like how the second book just picked up where we left off so I wasn't confused when I get back into the second book I also liked it when Lara Jane was in the tree house with Peter at the end and how they kind of confused their love for each other I thought that was really cute I also really liked John I thought he was sweet and cute I kinda wanted them to work but I was happy when her and Peter got back together I think my favorite part of the book would have to be when Lara Jane and John were leaving the party for the retirement home and Lara Jane and John kissed would have to be one of my favorite part of the book

Sigh! This series keeps getting better.

The second book in this 3 part story is even better than the first. A sweet nice girl who deals with real high school problems, Boys and jealousy. I have really enjoyed listening to these and can't wait for the third and last book. I really love this narrator and she makes the book come alive. I've enjoyed listening. Now back to reality, sigh!

Not Bad....Not Bad At All! :-)

After listening to the first book in this series I was skeptical about moving on to the second book, but this story did not disappointment. (It was much better than book one :-)!

The world Evangeline has created is unique with interesting concepts and the character development was great. There are several different POVs and I really enjoyed learning about the different characters; even the bad ones. The plot is well written and will transition smoothly into the next book where we will learn more about the existing characters as well as new ones.

Overall, I was very pleased with the story and have actually recommended this series to several of my friends. So far, theyve all said positive things about this series.

**Recommended for those who like Sci-fi Romances with a little erotica thrown in to spice it up!

SADLY, I'VE GOT MIXED FEELINGS ON THIS

There were a few times during the first half of this listen when I thought I couldn't continue any longer and my finger was hovering over 'stop' more than once as Sophia was so annoying, naive, whimpy and child-like there was also far too much not-quite-sex sex just lots of talk and action around the lapping of her 'juices'..... enough already t.m.i.!!

However, the storyline grew into a much more enjoyable listen when Sophia and Sylvan were made to leave the ship and there were interesting and humorous times as well as an exciting rescue.

Nora Roberts Land Is an Homage of the Best Kind!

Where does Nora Roberts Land rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Top Ten!

I am an avid romance novel reader and a huge Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb fan. I'm talking I may have recorded all of the movies that come on Lifetime just so I can watch them repeatedly. I've also listened to favorites such as Blue Smoke and Northern Lights on long car rides and vacations. In addition to that, she's actually one of the few writers whose paperbacks I buy and keep. If you drop one of her books in my house, chances are you'll land on a favorite *sigh* scene. Girl loves some Nora. So you can imagine my excitement and hesitation when a new author actually used her named in the title and got approval to do so. Two things: either she knew some people or she had gotten the Nora stamp of approval.

I had previously read the novel, so I was apprehensive. I mean a narrator can MAKE or BREAK a novel on Audible, but Em Eldridge did NOT disappoint. The story was also just as delectable as the first two times I read it.

Where to start? Ok, we'll start with the Nora references which are many but well played (to the true Roberts fan) enough not to overshadow the actual story being told. Miles did a good job of paying homage without BECOMING Nora Roberts which is difficult to do when you've put her name in the title.

Meredith was completely down on her luck after a failed marriage to the sleaziest man child ever, Richard Sommerville. She decides to go back home to Dare Valley to help out the family newspaper and to find her very own hero (THE ONE), straight out of a Nora book. Sommerville, who in addition to increasing my hate for him, decides to blackmail the delicious Tanner McBride to entice Meredith to give up on her article about true love that could shed some negative light on him. Tanner agrees and before you know it, you are IN IT. I'm talking swiping (flipping) from page to page to see what will happen next.

I returned this book

I listened to the first two books in this series and then bought this one. I got about an hour in and then got bored and stopped listening. Over the last couple of weeks, I've tried to go back to it a couple of times and just get bored again quickly. Thus, I returned the book because I can't get through this one much less the two more after it. It such a shame because I really dislike not finishing a series.

Great Book

This book was great... I definitely sense trouble coming the couples way. Richard is going to be a nasty piece of work.

This is the best audio book that I have listened to. It is much more realistic than others and made me want to keep listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Erica was the best. She is honest and upfront. She keeps everything real and can always come up with something witty to say. She was innocent but still went for what she really wanted in life. And she really wanted Blake and wanted to make him happy.

What about Jennifer Starks performance did you like?

I enjoyed that Jennifer could bring each character to life and was able to use a different tone for the different characters. She brought out all qualities in the different characters. She could make it seem like you were sharing the same space with them watching the story unfold right in front of you.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I forgot how emotional this book was. Hearing the story out loud made the story come to life. I found myself gasping at certain parts or feeling the pain that Erica could have been going through.

This is a fantastic book, well written and being able to hear it in audio form makes it even better. Great job to the Meredith and Jennifer!!

This book was just filler. This really gets on my nerves when authors do this. I'll be so glad when this stores is finished.

Enjoyable audiobooks

I really liked this audiobook, it was well narrated and full of angst with a HEA. I sometimes wished the heroine would 'grow a backbone' and quit being so timid about what she really wants. But in the end she does exactly that, so all is resolved.

Absolutely. First of all the story is AMAZING. Secondly, the narrators were very good.

Mitch - He didn't seem to be able to catch a break. He ended up taking blame for things that weren't entirely his fault. All he wanted was the girl he had loved since he was 11 years old.

I loved the scene at the beach house when Skylar finally makes her decision.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did find myself teary at some points in this story. I was also frustrated at the obstacles that this poor couple continued to have to face. But overall, it just put me in my happy place.

Love Penelope Ward's stories. This series has been so good.

I got online and bought this audiobook immediately after finishing Jake Undone. I was so excited that Mitch and Skylar were going to get their own story, but wow...I did not expect their road to be quite so rocky.

These two characters will break your heart. Mitch has abandonment issues that Skylar keys into when they are just children. She accepts him and comforts him from the very start. This story travels from when they are around age 8 until they are getting close to thirty (guessing here...it's somewhere between 25 and 30.)

As you would expect when the story covers that many years, there are a lot of highs and heartbreaking lows for these two characters. Seriously, this book broke my heart. I loved them both so much and to see them constantly going through such hardship and kept apart by circumstances KILLED me.

And ack...now I'm at a loss as to what else to say without giving spoilers.

You need to read this book.

Is that enough? Seriously, it's an emotional read and I loved both the characters. It's a tough road for them, but that makes the end just that much sweeter. I was so happy by the time the book ended.
