    Title: The Promise
    Subtitle: Thunder Point, Book 5
    Author: Robyn Carr
    Narrator: Therese Plummer
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 10 hrs and 6 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-24-14
    Publisher: Recorded Books

    Publisher's Summary:
Scott Grant has a bustling family practice in the small Oregon community of Thunder Point. The town and its people have embraced the widowed doctor and father of two, his children are thriving, and Scott knows it's time to move on from his loss. But as the town's only doctor, the dating pool is limited. That is, until a stunning physician's assistant applies for a job at his clinic.
Peyton Lacoumette considers herself entirely out of the dating scene. She's already been burned by a man with kids, and she's come to Thunder Point determined not to repeat past mistakes. When Scott offers her a job, at a much lower salary than she's used to, Peyton is surprisingly eager to accept at least for now. She's willing to stay for a three-month trial period while she explores other options. Scott and Peyton know the arrangement is temporary - it isn't enough time to build a real relationship, never mind anything with lasting commitment. But love can blossom faster than you think when the timing is right, and this short visit just might hold the promise of forever.

First of Robyn Carr's books that I couldn't finish
The other Thunder Point books were delightful but this one felt like the author was working against a deadline. She made the lead character seem self-centered and unlikable. As I listened to the first hour of the book, I kept wondering if Robyn was depressed or angry at the world as she wrote this. She had all of the typical Thunder Point material at her disposal and could have made this one as delightfully light and easy listening as the others in the series. I stopped listening about half-way through--felt like a waste of time.
I am not giving up on Robyn Carr. I will wait for the next one and buy it.
    4 The Promise Stars
Ok this might be a by-product of beige reading a seriesI thought our Heroine was protesting toooooooooo much.
I liked the storyline just fine dont get me wrong, I am a fan of Doc Scott. And I enjoyed getting to know his story.
But I think Peyton just keep protesting to much you know that famous saying. methinks the lady doth protest too much Well this is what I was thinking the whole time with her.
I did like that Peyton stepped up when she was asked.
I lovvvvvvvved the narration! As you can probably guess from all my gushing about Therese Plummer she is just fantastic, what can I say I know what I like.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
    GREAT STORY!! I LOVED IT!!!
Ohhh Scott!! He certainly was more jealous than I thought he would be!! lol And Miss Peyton...such a good heart..but hurt so badly, she didnt want to trust again....I loved how Peyton took care of her friends and family...and did it on her own terms...she is a good woman...and I am so glad these 2 found their way back to each other, even with a few bumps in the road!!! Good addition to this wonderful series!!!!
    Disappointed
Would you try another book from Robyn Carr and/or Therese Plummer?
I will try one more but I do wish there was a different narrator. Her male voices are horrible and sound so much alike.
Would you be willing to try another book from Robyn Carr? Why or why not?
I'll try one more from this series, but it will have to be much better.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voices were awful and she had a drawn out lilt like she was reading bad poetry.

    Author: Jojo Moyes

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 13 hrs and 35 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-29-14
    Publisher: Penguin Audio
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 569 votes
    Genres: Romance, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
From the New York Times best-selling author of Me Before You and One Plus One, a surprising and moving romance set in an old-fashioned seaside town on the verge of unwelcome change.
Liza McCullen will never fully escape her past. But the unspoiled beaches and tight-knit community of Silver Bay offer the freedom and safety she craves - if not for herself, then for her young daughter, Hannah. That is, until Mike Dormer arrives as a guest in her aunt's hotel.
The mild-mannered Englishman with his too-smart clothes and distracting eyes could destroy everything Liza has worked so hard to protect: Not only the family business and the bay that harbors her beloved whales, but also her conviction that she will never love - never deserve to love - again.
For his part, Mike Dormer is expecting just another business deal - an easy job kick-starting a resort in a small seaside town ripe for development. But he finds that he doesn't quite know what to make of the eccentric inhabitants of the ramshackle Silver Bay Hotel, especially not enigmatic Liza McCullen, and their claim to the surrounding waters.
As the development begins to take on a momentum of its own, Mike's and Liza's worlds collide in this hugely affecting and irresistible tale full of Jojo Moyes' signature humor and generosity.

    Not up to Moyes' standards
    Any additional comments?
Let me start off by saying that I like Nicolette McKenzie as a narrator, and have read Jojo Moyes' other books (I immensely enjoyed "me before You" and "The Ship of Brides"). Moyes either writes really well - even for beach reads - or her books are just predictable and a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, Silver Bay is not up to Moyes' talents, and having two narrators voice 5 or 6 characters was just a bit too much.
Great Story, I had to listen twice!
This is a story full of love and life and the trials and tribulations gone through before happiness can find a way in! Encompassing wildlife and mankind and righting wrongs. The narration is fantastic from female old and child to men, really had a comforting flow! Great read, I will certainly listen again and again!
Disappointed .. just could get into it
I didnt get too far into this book so i shouldnt judge .. maybe 4 chapters ... but i just couldnt get into it. I wasnt use to the Aussie accented narration (even though i am one!) and i found the story boring.
Disappointed as i have loved all of Jojo's. Other books
    Another Awesome JoJo Moyes Novel!
I continue to be sucked into the worlds that JoJo Motes creates - rich with the best characters. And when read with Audible - the world truly is full!
    Always great
Jojo Moyers always writes a great book. Amazing characters, great story line, and intriguing until the end. It was hard to stop listening and I was sad when it was over. The narrators were also really good and brought the story to life.

    Unhappy with the reader.
What did you like best about Sweet Revenge? What did you like least?
I love Nora Roberts. Her stories are Romantic and interesting. Her women are strong and intelligent. But with sweet Revenge the reader made all the women either lisp or sound like a whiny drag queen. And the usually rugged men sound as if they are all trying to be Errol Flinn.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Revenge?
I have a hard time picking just one. But the last confrontation with the King is my favorite.
How could the performance have been better?
Having a reader with a better understanding of the Author.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
    A better reader
    Any additional comments?
I hope that Sweet Revenge is not a " first book" for someone trying out a new author. It would seriously hurt the reputation of Nora Roberts if it is.
    Disappointed
What disappointed you about Sweet Revenge?
I could not make it past the 3rd chapter due to the narrator.
What could Nora Roberts have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Found someone else to narrate the books.
    The narrator was perfect
Would you listen to Sweet Revenge: A Novel again? Why?
Yes. It is a story so rich, that a second reading would allow me to absorb more detail.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Revenge: A Novel?
When Phillip caught her stealing back her necklace. Her emotions were caused her to be careless, showing a great new side of her.
Have you listened to any of Napoleon Ryans other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I enjoyed he narrator and his great gift with accents.
    Any additional comments?
It is one of the best Nora Roberts novels I have read in years.

Romantic Royalty makes for sweet story
What did you love best about Recklessly Royal?
There was one specific scene that really made me fall for Cathy and David, this being near the end when they spend some time in a limo and eventually deal with a rather stressful situation. There was something so real to me about how Cathy deals with this siutation and how sweetly David takes care of her. That scene and the general falling in love the two went through was just lovely and made for a very enjoyable listen.
Have you listened to any of Caitlin Daviess other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've listened to the first book in the series and for sure I felt Caitlin had out done herself with this one. Recklessly Royal outshone Suddenly Royal in many ways for me. I loved learning more about the characters with Caitlins story telling.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Indeed it was. I got a good way through it while driving and listening to it at work. Overall it only took me two days to complete this novel. I'm fairly certain I might listen to it again soon :)
    Easy Read
Both of these royal book's were a kickback easy read. I am in hopes there will be a third book on the other brother Max. Caitlin Davies southern accent was a little off. But certainly did not take away from the story line. I'm really glad that I read Suddenly Royal first, as Recklessly Royal picked up and continued the story.
    Adorable.
Very cute and quite adorable. David couldn't have been more of a gentleman. Better with each reread.
    Very sweet
Once again very sweet and enjoyable love story. Wish there was a little more depth(spoiler). Wanted to hear more about how Tabitha got in trouble and a little more drama or something.

    GOOD ENOUGH..
I have mixed feelings about this one. In comparison to the other stories, TIED was mediocre. I think I just wasn't as into Matt as I was the other brothers, and the subtle DOM/SUB theme didn't add or take away from the storyline, it just--WAS. I don't want to feel mediocre about the stories I listen to--but I suppose when it's all make believe anyway, it's fine! :-)
I'm looking forward to the next two because I'm intrigued by the characters, and really have enjoyed Kristen Proby's writing. Overall, the story was good enough, just not awesome.
Another Hot and Sexy 5 Star Listen for Kristen :)
    Any additional comments?
I have just loved every book in the With Me series by Kristen, so of course I was dying to get my hands on Tied with Me, the latest book in the series. Within this series, Kristen has written about every type of Hottie imaginable so far, a rock star, a sexy man with tattoos and a motorcycle, a movie star, a professional football player, and an ex-Navy SEAL. So, it was fitting for the next leading man to be a sexy police detective that dabbles in BDSM...
Matt Montgomery is a natural protector and the one that his siblings lean on for support and strength. He has a great job as a Seattle police detective, but with his dominant tendencies and his secret fetish for BDSM, he hasn't been able to find the one person he can share his life with. That is until Nic walks into his life. He realizes that she isn't the typical submissive, but something about her draws him in...
Shy and insecure Nic Dalton is the owner of a successful cupcake bakery. She loves her business and her close friends, but due to life-long medical conditions she finds it easier to push people away then be hurt when she cant live the life that most take for granted.

    What a Surprise!!!
Where does Beautifully Damaged rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
It is one of the most exciting and interesting books I've listened. Surprising, romantic, emotional. Exquisite!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautifully Damaged?
The plot was so complex. Many side plots and characters making the story so interesting and addictive.
    Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was the one when Amber proposed :-)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!!! And I almost did ;-)
    Any additional comments?
I have bought this book as a romance. I was seeking a nice story with a hot hero and some bad boy actions. What I got was soooo much more. It is truly one of the best books I've listened because of all the extraordinarily balanced drama, crime, romance and action. I'm waiting for the next book from this series.
    Love and Intrigue
If you could sum up Beautifully Damaged in three words, what would they be?
A great listen. enough to make you want to keep listening
What did you like best about this story?
    There was a story
    Great Story
Thought I had it figured out and then it changed--great book. Amy Rubinate does another great job as narrator.
    Not for me
I like strong funny women, she is not that. Found so much of the story not believable. I returned this book half way through.
Such potential for a great story and such a shame
What would have made Beautifully Damaged better?
The author should have spent more time building their relationship up. The story didn't have a good indication as to why the girl would fall so hard for this guy in a matter of brief meetings, to the point of almost worship. There wasn't enough depth in the story. Also, the girl in the story was sooooo annoying! Get a backbone! Have some self respect!
What was most disappointing about L. A.

    Hilarious!
What made the experience of listening to Shame on You the most enjoyable?
The narrator was animated and the book was absolutely hilarious!
What other book might you compare Shame on You to and why?
I can't think of another romantic comedy that had me laughing so much. I guess Wallbanger was probably the book that came the closest.
What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She added a lot of personality and spunk.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    GD Funny!
    Any additional comments?
Quick and highly entertaining story! At first, I thought that Kennedy was too crass and I didn't think I'd like her as the heroine. However, I got over that quickly. She was hilarious!
Griffin is a great guy and a total hottie also. The rivalry between the two led to some very funny situations and great banter. They had great chemistry together and it was clear that Kennedy needed a guy that wasn't a total pushover. She'd met her match in Griffin.
The ending was great and I can't wait to see where book 2 takes these characters. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was wonderful as well! She really added a lot of energy to the story and was very animated. No monotone voice for this audiobook!
What a book!!! Tara has some great humor....
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The narrator makes this book come to life. I caught myself laughing out loud. She nailed it...each character took on its own life....great story line. Tara has some serious writing talent. The comedy wasnt over done and the story line just flowed. Im hooked on her work...can't wait to read more of her stuff!
Which character as performed by Amy McFadden was your favorite?
Kennedy of course was my favorite. She is a kick ass, no nonsense girl. Her dreams of Griffin and her desires are so funny. And the mouth on her...love her! And her descriptions are so funny...RAT BASTARD is my new word!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
OMG! It made me laugh out loud....too funny!
    Any additional comments?
I can't wait to listen to the other two in the series. I really loved this book!!!
    Funniest book ever..
    Any additional comments?
For anyone who called this book stupid or silly or whatever, they have no sense of humor whatsoever.
I have 800+ reviews and I've been reading for over 30 years and I can tell you this is the funniest book I've ever read. I have never laughed so much from the beginning to the end of a book.
I loved Kennedy and her army attitude and I loved Griffen for waiting all those years for Kennedy.

    Members Reviews:
    interesting
These are a few things I like about the story:
    1) Great sex
    2) Interesting storyline
    3) GREAT one liners
Cons you ask? Well lets see.
    1) KB repeats thoughts over and over throughout all three books
    2) You can't just buy one book bcs all three are one story
    3) STRESSFULL storyline for books 2 and 3. So much so that it overshadows the love story. Instead of enjoying it, I found myself uptight and stressed. Although not book one
    4) heroine is very weak in that in book one she keeps trying to make excuses to see him when it's all weak ones and all it boils down to is that she wants him and will do anything to crawl back into his life. But again, don't worry my friends, this IS a romance and at the end all will workout.
Book 2 was all about her being mad at him and him trying to get her back and terrible interactions.
Book 3... He finally starts to workout through his messed up head and things finally start to workout but then we have a couple of accidents and healing to go through before the happily ever after. Still very stressful.
So overall if I had the choice between 50 shades and this I'll go with 50 even though it was poorly written at least the story kept me interested and excited and full of love.
I also did not like the narrator changes in books 2 and 3. It throws off the reader in the sense that you have to readjust over and over when voices are not what you are used to so it makes it hard to really get into the book. This is not to say I did not like the male narrator, just that I prefer either all male or all female to allow for emersion into the story.
So make up your own mind but this is not the kind of book I would ever want to re-read.
    A steamy fast-paced whirlwind romance!!
I've actually read book #1 Driven & book #2 Fueled but still decided to try it in audio. I can say that each book gets better and better. I'm still waiting on the last book Crashed to be released in March. Can't wait!! Driven is told from the perspective of Rylee Thomas. She's a 26yrs old working for Corporate Cares, a company that houses orphans. The state turns over their guardianship to her company. Corporate Care, houses kids who are at an age that the chance of adoptions are pretty low.

    ~USA TODAY BESTSELLER~
Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.
I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my life so completely.
Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who is as ruthless as he is beautifula man whose touch makes me burn. A man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.
My captor is an enigma. I dont know who he is or why he took me. There is a darkness inside him-a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.
My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.

I think this actually lives up to the dark part...
Most "DARK' romances, are not usually all that dark... Well not my kinda of dark. There needs to be a level of violence with a dark romance... If you fall in-love with the H/h who is supposed to be the bad guy, in like chapter 2, well that just defeats the purpose of having a villain right..
Anyway, THIS WAS AWESOMENESS!!! A great DARK romance!!!
Our H is a totally mysterious but likeable A-hole for the things he do to the h... I was totally wrapped in the story the entire book.
It got a bit boring during the middle, but actually now that the book is over... the middle really makes sense...because where the h was being held... there was really nothing to do, but what she was doing...sooooooo...Yeah, no action required... (by golly! I think I just figured that out!)
So after the hospital, the book goes from 0.... nah, more like 35mph to 60 in the blink of an eye. I was literally pressing my ear bobs into my eardrums to make sure I heard this and that... I didn't want to miss anything! The action toward the end was that good...but then... right before the ending, the h... OMG! I just wanted to b*slap her....
Yes, by now you will totally love the H, even though you only know a pinky nail much about him,but STILL.... I felt like the h didn't deserve my perfectly badass villain... She totally broke the ultimate rule!!!
Anyway... I loved the ending, serious little girl butterflies.... Awesome job Anna Zaires... Awesome job...
The smex was just so smexy too... Love me some Alpha Man punishment!!!
Narration was not the greatest...but a far far step up from the Liaison books by Zaires on Audible. I actually wish this narrator could go back and re-narrate the Liaison books, because that series is one of my faves, that was ruined by narration... Rae did a decent job with this... Love the H voice... so smexy!
This is a totally Credit or Sale... I prefer not to buy books over 10 bucks unless its a must have... This was more like a very enjoyable have... a definite re-listen, but not necessarily a must have. Although, one could save a credit for a more enticing listen and just buy this because its not that expensive... still under 15 bucks... This book wasn't enticing like you are ready to beat someone if they disturb you...this was however, highly enjoyable... 2pts for Zaires!!
I gave this 5 stars BUT
I felt like Nora felt about this book. I was confused about how I can like a book that I feel like I should hate. It was dark. Julian was a phyco-sociopath, but something about him I liked. I felt bad for Nora. Yet, I wanted her to be with Julian. I want to read more of their story, but I need a moment.
    Different and intriguing
If you hang in there thru the first of this book, you will be completely drawn on... Different view of romance, darker then 50 Shades...

Sometimes the wrong choice can be just right...
Fun and fearless, Cora Lewis knows how to keep her tattooed "bad boy" friends at the Marked in line. But beneath all that flash and sass is a broken heart. Cora won't let herself get burned again. She's waiting to fall in love with the perfect man - a baggage-free, drama-free guy ready for commitment. Then she meets Rome Archer.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He's stubborn, rigid, and bossy. And he's returned from his final tour of duty more than a little broken. Rome's used to filling many roles: big brother, doting son, supersoldier - but none of those fit anymore. Now he's just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the dark demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer through it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes a blinding flash of color in a sea of gray. Perfect may not be in the cards, but perfectly imperfect could just last forever...

    yum
Jay Crownovers third installment of the Marked Men series was about Rules older brother, Rome (aka Captain no-fun) and his friend Cora (aka Tink or Half-pint).Romehad all the steam, fun loving moments and captivating characters that drew me in withRule. We were introduced to Cora Lewis in the previous two books as this feisty little powerhouse who works as the body piercer/receptionist at the tattoo shop where Rule and the boys also work. Rome Archer is back from his final tour with the Army. He is home and hes not been himself since hes been back. He has issues with his family, and his time spent at war left it's mark. Rome is closed off to everyone, but there is something about Cora that can bring him out of his shell little by little. The two seem like opposites. However, both are loyal and protective of their friends and family, caring and they have things they are dealing with. Rome and Cora have a lot of obstacles to face. Rome has to deal with his guilt, PTSD, depression and nightmares and Cora needs to get over her fear of falling deep in love and having that person leave. When the two of them finally came together, it was just beautiful.I cant tell you how much I loved watching Coras and Romes love story come to life. They were both two very broken individuals; however, right from the start they have this intense connection which only grows and becomes more amplified as the pair seek out and explore this bond they share. Cora was exactly who Rome needed to snap him out of his stupor and help him realize that he has so much to live for. She breathed life back into him and gave him a reason to fight his demons. Cora was so focused on finding Mr. Perfect that it took Rome barging into her life for the realization to come to the surface that sometimes it is our imperfections that make a relationship real and beautiful. All in all,Romewas absolute perfection and encompassed everything that I have come to love about this series. I'm definitely looking forward to Nash's story!
    Going from bad to worse
What would have made Rome better?
This third instalment of the Marked Men novels is really not worth your time or money.
For me the female narrator, Alicia Neil, is absolutely the worst narrator I've ever heard.
