Gripping

Charmingly suspenseful, with characters I could relate to. A well-written story worth anyone's time. Wonderfully narrated, and highly recommended!

Gripping Military Suspense

Crazy military suspense serves as the back drop to a heart-wrenching love story. Such a well-written story. Solid dual narration, though the male was a bit breathy. Note: you will need to read book two to complete the story.

ok. I'm completely annoyed by this book. It wasn't "bad" but it was a little slow & basically a back drop to the next book. I have no choice but to get the next one now! I've decided I don't love Ryley. she's in a bad situation and I would probably unfortunately act just as she does but for some reason i just wanted to smack her at every turn. But here I go into the next book...

Here With Me is a contemporary romance book told from Evan and Ryleys POV. It is the first book in The Archer Brothers series. This was my first audio-book. My husband and I listened to this book together one day when I was sick. This was my husbands first romance book.

I loved how the story was told. You got past flashback told as a story to someone. It made me feel as if I was having a conversation with the characters. The emotions of Ryley and Evan felt very authentic. I enjoyed the rediscovery of their relationship. My husband said he didnt like the story because it made him feel. I told him that it was awesome because it gave you all the feels. The story had humor and made both of us chuckle out loud. My husband became addicted to the story. I wasnt allowed to listen without him.

As far as it being an audio-book, the narrators were good. I enjoyed the man more than the woman. My husband enjoyed the woman more than the man. I have to say having that male voice saying some of those sexy lines is hot!

The book ends with a cliffhanger and a HUGE book hangover. My husband ordered the book as soon as the audio-book finished.

Fan-Freaking-Tastic!

Where has C.D. Reiss been?! Wow she brings a new level of writing to the Erotic Romance genre! Really, I cant think of another book in the genre that I gave a 5 stars rating. Sure there are others that I really like but its been a little while.

SONGS OF SUBMISSION: SEQUENCE ONE is books 1 -3 (BEG, TEASE & SUBMIT) in the Songs of Submission series by C.D. Reiss. They were originally released as a serial series and the books in the whole series are being produced in audio book format. Im so glad that I got to listen to them all together. If I had to wait for TEASE after listening to BEG I would have gone nuts. LOL

We follow the relationship between Monica and Jonathan through them meeting and working through their sexual relationship where neither wants more. But of course after spending sometime together Monica starts to hope for more even though she knows that Jonathan is not capable of more.

But Jonathan keeps Monica coming back for more because of the mind blowing sex between them. But have no fear Reiss doesnt write just great sex scenes. No Monica and Jonathan are deep characters with a deeper connection. And there are a few interesting side characters that bring something to the party.

While listening to SEQUENCE ONE I laughed, was turned on, on the edge of my seat and heart broken. The writing and narration had me feeling like I was in the story with Monica and Jonathan. SEQUENCE ONE was a total emotional ride and I want to ride it again and again.

Jo Raylan brought C.D. Reisss words and characters to life perfectly! Jos voice and Reisss writing totally sucked me in within the first 20 minutes of the audio. Jo Raylan is a new name but shes not new to the narration game. She narrates under another name (dont ask because if I told you, Id have to kill you. LOL) but even though shes a pro under another name Ive got to tell ya it was like listening to another person.

If I had not known Jo used a pseudonym I would have thought, hey she kind of sounds like someone I know but it cant be the same person because Jos pitch and delivery really is something new. Her voice is smooth, seductive and she nails the male voice almost better than the female voices. Its hard (at least for me) to find a female narrator that can be spot on with the males as well as the females. And the part where Jo sings Monicas song. WOW

The team of Reiss and Raylan on my must listen list. If they are part of it I want more of it!

I cannot wait for SONGS OF SUBMISSION: SEQUENCE TWO books 4-6 (CONTROL, BURN & RESIST) to be released on audio. We get some Jonathans POV and I cant wait to hear whats going on in his head.

Good premise

I like Amy Rubinate and that was one reason I ordered this book, the trouble for me was the narration. When I read that there are two narrators (man and woman) I expect the man to read the man's narration and the woman to read the woman's narration, that is not what happened with this book. In this book, every other chapter was in the person of one of the characters and the narrator read the entire chapter. It took a lot away from the story, in my opinion.

Other than that, it was a pretty good story, with a unique premise. I think I would like it much better if I had read the book and if the story moved along a little more quickly.

Horrible Female Narration

Jamie is a fabulous writer. Please give her other books a listen you will not be disappointed.

I heard of the audio version after reading the book. The male narrator for Levi was southern and enjoyable enough to really embrace his character. The narrator for Lindsey was more nasal and sounded midwestern rather than from Connecticut. I didn't enjoy her whiny tone as I didn't view Lindsey quite as whiny while reading the book first. Levi was my favorite with the narration. He was a sweet, struggling character who made amazing transformation throughout the book. I love how he really was clear with his actions and intentions. Levi could be trusted.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Amy Rubinate and Will Damron ?

I would pick Will over Amy, although I would be willing to give her a chance as another character from the midwest. She needed to work on her "yankee" dialect.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The journey of discovering who you are in the fullest potential can be challenging, but absolutely worth it.

I love all her books. She is fantastic, funny and I just fall in love with all the characters. I work at a barns and noble and I always recommend her books

Characters extremely unlikable

Maybe this is partly because I didn't realize this was part of a series, so I listened to this on it's own without any information from the other books, but I found it really hard to root for either character in the romantic pairing, and therefore found it really frustrating to listen to.

Warren can't pay his rent and spends all day lying around watching porn (and don't get me started on how disrespectful he was towards Bridget when he was trying to find her own porn video. What an invasion of her privacy!) I'm supposed to want this guy to get his girl? I'm supposed to think he's sexy? Was very turned off by him.

Bridget is not much better. She is rude to the point of nonsense. Is it realistic for her to be this way? I know we delve more into her character later and it is explained, but I still found her hard to deal with. I just couldn't understand why they liked each other, and found their sexual tension forced. I love this genre, but this book gave me none of the fun, romantic feelings that I was expecting.

The writing style itself is fine, and I think I could enjoy other books by this author with more likable characters. I did like the characters of Ridge, Brennan, and Sydney, so maybe their stories will appeal to me more.

The narration had some glitches- It was clear when the author would cut to another take for a few paragraphs, because the pitch of his voice would change, like he might have been standing farther away from the microphone.

Overall, barely worth the three dollar price tag.

Really enjoyable!

I don't always love my audio books , but this one was really good! all of it.

Awesome story!

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! The plot was captivating! The character development was superb! I really enjoyed the underlying themes as well as the suspense at the end. I recommend this book for people of all ages...

Good idea, doesn't deliver

What would have made Beach Rental better?

Better writing would have made this story better. The dialog was bland as was the action. The characters were all so sweet they made my face hurt.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voices were all the same. Boring!

This storyline was a good idea, it just needed better writing to carry it off.

Not worth the credit

When searching for a word to describe Grace Greenes writing, I decided "amateurish" was too harsh. She has clearly studied the craft and her writing has all the requisite elements of good fiction, but in the end the execution is "unsophisticated."

The writer relies on narrative to communicate qualities and thoughts of her characters rather than trusting them to reveal themselves through dialogue. The plot is poorly constructed so that the book ends up being too long by at least one third.

The pacing of the quasi-slapstick ending drags. In an effort to paint a picture of the scene, the author uses so many words to explain what each character is doing that it takes the narrator forever to finish reading the passage. The action never succeeds in moving forward to a climax because the author has left the reader bogged down in setting the scene.

Caroline Millers narration does not help make this book more interesting. She is not successful in differentiating the characters (especially male characters) and her narration is not effective at building tension during dramatic sections. I was reminded of my school days when the teacher would go around the room having each person read aloud. It is clear that Ms. Miller knows HOW to read aloud, but she does not know how to put life into the story.

The word faith is pivotal to the unfolding of this story, but the way that faith is reflected in the actions of the characters does not ring true. For example, if Bens church family had been as important to him as the author says, his funeral service would have been held in a sanctuary and not at a funeral home. The word faith is essentially used as a euphemism for God, as if the author or the publisher did not want to offend non-believing readers by being too in-their-face.

A Suprisingly Good Book

I have hundreds of audible books but this is the first one I read by Catherine Bybee. I'm pleased that now I have a new author that I really like. What I enjoyed the most was that the characters were very well developed, believable and likeable. The plot wasn't overdone. It was a very enjoyable read. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could give half stars. There were a couple of situations that were just a little unbelievable, but the fact that there were only a couple is really surprising. I recommend it and look forward to reading more by this author. The narrator is right on. She did a fantastic job with male and female voices. That's important to me.

Just like the others... awesome! Story line is great, couldn't wait to listen again every time I had to turn it off. The sassy attitude of the narrator adds the perfect flare to keep you enjoying every bit of the book. Can't wait for another...keen 'em coming :-D

Another great book from the Not Quite series. And I have to say that Walt's and Dakota's mothers were just awful, for the biggest part of the book. On the other hand, Dakota's sunny personality and disposition was just awesome. I loved everything about them both. Loved her best friend, Mary, as well as Glen and it was nice to see Monica and Trent/Barefoot again. Ms. Bybee writes warm, sensual and wonderful love stories and I never get tired of her books. I'm off to read Taken By Tuesday now.

As to the narrator: Just spectacular. I never get tired of listening to Ms. McFadden. Her many voices are just great.

I enjoyed this NA romance for what it was, which is a story about a girl who was obviously sheltered but also bullied by her mother growing up and a boy who has ptsd and his way of dealing with that is anger. He tries to be the bad boy but his good boy shows through whenever he lets down his guard. I think he is also trying so hard to be the bad guy that he doesn't have guts enough to stand up for what he thinks but instead does things no matter how awful because he doesn't want to look weak to his "friends". 1/2 the book I loved him and the other 1/2 I thought he acted like a boy and not a man! I hope book 2 will show him growing but from the nasty reviewers I'm guessing he doesn't. That will not deter me from continuing on to book 2 because I have to see what happens next. The story pulled me in from the beginning which is what i'm always looking for in a book.

The narration of this audiobook was great! She does a great accent for Hardin.

Abusive and Demeaning Boyfriend Romance Story

This was a good book and it did keep me intrigued with all the drama, so much so that I stayed up all night long to finish the 2nd half of it to the end. (So Extremely tired at work now) It is about an abusive boyfriend that is so demeaning and cruel to his girlfriend regardless of how much she gives up for him. I wish Tesse could have made a true friend in college that she could depend on and go to for help and advice. I kept hanging in there hoping Hardin would eventually make a drastic change and start treating Tesse with some respect. Does NOT happen which is very disappointing. I could NOT believe the cliffhanger ending and cannot wait until 11/25/14 when the next book comes out.

Fantastic story and performance!

This is a book that will give you one heck of an emotional ride. Excellent storyline and narration. Relatable female and male character. Pure perfection! Cannot wait to finish the second book, too.

Michaels never disappoints.

I have read several of her books and I've enjoyed all. Corinne always has witty and emotional dialog with a surprise twist. Plus, she writes sizzling and emotional love scene. Since, I have read some of her more recent work, this one is not quite as good as some of her others books. The beginning of this books really starts off great, but it gets a bit slow and whiney towards the end of part one. Yet, don't misunderstand, this audio is still really good. I just think her writing and story development have vastly improved with each book. I thought the narrator was good. I really liked the male narrator at the end of the first part and wish he coukd have been more incorporated into this book. Overall, I would give this book 4 stars.

Did not work for me

I did not like the heroine of this story and the story line itself did not hold my interest- I am sure largely because I found the lead insufferable. I already bought the series so I will continue on since it had a cliffhanger and in hopes it gets better.

Cheated - To Be Continued???

I CALL FOUL!!! A romance novel is not supposed to end halfway through the story. Yes it's a good story, although I find Katherine a little on the whiney side. And some of the things Jackson says and does reminds me of textbook controlling/abusive men (which I find disturbing in the hero) however he is believable as one of the good guys. I get so entirely frustrated with purchasing a book only to find there's not a happy ending conclusion. If I wanted novels like that, I would change genres. Any book that does mot complete the story I purchased should state in the description " This is book does not include the happily ever after ending". Otherwise I think I'm getting at least one full story with the option to purchase additional story beyond the happily ever after or perhaps the story of the roommate.

I don't like purchasing only half a book.

Cliffhanger!

I despise cliffhangers, but luckily the follow up is already available...which I am moving right along to. I've listened to Consolation and Conviction (AWESOME), which is a bit out of order, so I already have a feel for these characters, but I am enjoying hearing about Jacksons story!

Nothing, this book is hard to listen to it is so poorly written.

The story tries to mimic 50 shades of grey but is lacking in all aspects and just falls short.

What didnt you like about Kasha Kensingtons performance?

Narrators voice was not enjoyable.

I would tell the author to start fresh and not imitate someone else's story line.

I didn't believe they fell in love. Sure Rory did but Ian treated her horribly throughout the entire book until the last 2 chapters

Everything is disappointing. The beginning is too far fetched. He saves her and all the sudden they have a love/hate relationship and she is living in his house spending his money? The dialogue is I want you/stay away from me/I love you . It is too much back and forth with no reason for it. Rory says she is trying to save her twin brother but never goes looking for him? The twin brother is schizophrenic but sounds like a little child?

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kasha Kensington?

Narration wasn't bad but the writing and story were so bad it ruined the entire thing.

You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Absolutely none. Couldn't finish it.

Don't waste a credit or any money on this story it is a poorly written bipolar soap opera.

Great narration...

Great narration throughout the series. This book finally completed a few storylines that bothered me in the books leading up to this. There were many times that I wanted to abandon these characters. What can I say, have to finish what I start. While I'm glad to get this information I am somewhat annoyed it was not added originally rather than 1.5, 2.5 and Revealed.

This psychological thriller has been sitting in my library for a few years, I purchased it when it was on sale and tried to pick up the rest of the series under the same circumstances (I ended up with 3 of the 8 books available at this time 2017.) Finally, I decided to listen to Book 1 to see if it would draw me in. It DID and I was hooked. I devoured the whole series back to back it took the better part of my Christmas holiday and then some.
