What an exciting adventure!

Remembrance review -

I absolutely loved this book! I really enjoyed the mystery - waiting to find out what was going to happen with Drew and Lizzie, as well as waiting to find out what happened with them before. I loved the concept of a past life, especially the way Michelle Madow wove it into Pride and Prejudice (one of my favorite Jane Austen novels). Of course, it's the first in the series so I was left grabbing for more at the end (and had to hastily pause my audiobook before it continued to Vengeance so that I could process the mass of content from book 1).

Okay, characters . . .

Chelsea - You know, for someone who is supposed to be Lizzie's best friend, she spends so much time focused on herself. It's always "hey Lizzie, look at me and Drew" or "me, me, me". Both Chelsea and Jeremy go on and on about Lizzie changing once the school year starts (and Drew shows up), but neither one of them seem to notice anything other than how it affects them.

Jeremy - what a douchy loser. I hated his character. He was so needy when things would go rough and so self-centered and conceited when they were good. Maybe he's a typical jock, I don't know. But I just didn't like his character at all. I think it was more than jock-y-ness. I, personally, don't want to see too much of him in the other two books.

Lizzie - I really enjoyed her character, and not just because she's the main character. She tried to do the decent thing (when Chelsea started dating Drew) and kept her feelings for him as hidden as she could . . . not that Chelsea paid her any attention. I definitely saw her character growing throughout the book, embracing her past life and everything that happened with Drew.

Alistair - oh, he was my favorite character, by far! The narration portrayed him perfectly and I just loved him! You could tell from the first time Lizzie meats him that there's something he's not telling her. And his character just gets more entertaining with each encounter!

Narration - oh, it was done perfectly! Andrea Emmes did a great job! I loved how she was able to change her voice just enough that you really didn't have trouble distinguishing between characters. And it was consistent - if she changed her voice once, it was always like that for a certain character. Her pacing was great and with the narration, on top of the story, I really enjoyed this book!

Let me start by saying that I am 100% NOT on Team Chelsea. And if its possible, this book made me hate her even more. Do you know what I heard every time Chelsea opened her mouth? Jan Brady. Yes, thats right . . .

Dont have sex or it will kill you!

"You've never ever read a book like this." Very true! This is a review for both Volumes 1 and 2.

An interesting read, a completely unrealistic fantasy, but somehow I had to keep reading it to the end.

The books actually involve two stories, the novel "Dead in Bed", and a series of author's notes between each chapter describing a series of bizarre events which happen to her (a 17 year old girl with a terminal disease) while she is writing the books, and her boyfriend whose name Adrian Birch appears as the co-author. Whether or not the author's own adventures happened as described, or if it is complete fiction is up to the reader to decide. But what you basically get is two stories for the price of one, although the final events of the author's story appear to be missing.

As for the novel itself Ashley is a good strong character who desperately tries to save herself and her family from a highly contagious disease which turns everyone into sex-craved maniacs and then kills them.

Intrigued? I was, so I read it and enjoyed it.

There are quite a few spelling and grammatical errors which could easily have been removed by a proof reader, but I assume these were deliberately left in, as the book is meant to be an unaltered transcription from the original author's blog on Wattpad.

Exceptional. Brilliant.

This novel gets you hooked from the very first chapter. The changes that occur in the protagonist's character for survival are remarkable and she is not a moral, god- fearing girl as you will find in cliches. The novel is written with great thought and fills you with suspense and the urge to go on and on. The plot never gets boring and another challenge is always on the way. Brilliant book.

One of my favorites

After I ordered this for a friend and she LOVED it, she convinced me to read it too. I absolutely love the plot, very original and unique. Every chapter makes me want to just cancel my plans for the day and just sit on the couch and binge read. I won't post and spoilers, but this is one of my favorite books and I can guarantee that you will love this book if you love suspense. ;)

Just as good as the first installment, Adrian Birch will have you gasping in suspense and begging for more.

realistic and complete

Well narrated and well written. I like how the main character grows through the story. She matures and better understands those around her. The end felt complete, no ending with a kiss or a wedding but with life, so you feel as if the story is continueing but you are not left wanting at it's conclusion. Clean and Christian as well. Nothing that you would not want your children to hear if you are listening aloud. In fact my kids enjoyed listening with me often and it soothed them as they drifted off to sleep.

100% not Team Chelsea

Let me start by saying that I am 100% NOT on Team Chelsea. And if itâs possible, this book made me hate her even more. Do you know what I heard every time Chelsea opened her mouth? Jan Brady. Yes, thatâs right . . . âMarsha, Marsha, Marsha!â She is a jealous, vengeful, whiny little snot! Oh, and I know theyâre both supposed to be guides and all, but Alistair is far less creepy than Shannonâs great aunt! And, if weâre going to call a spade a spade, Iâm still trying to figure out what Shannonâs angle is â sheâs just as manipulative as Chelsea is turning out to be!

So, she goes to see Shannonâs great aunt to figure out how to get Drew back. Well, in the old timeline, Lizzie dies so Drew and Catherine end up getting married. All Chelsea sees from Madam Creepy Guide is that she ends up marrying Drew. So, Chelsea does this little spell to make things turn out the way they did last time. Thereâs just one little catch that she doesnât think of â for that to work, Lizzie has to die! I know Chelsea is conceited and self-centered and whiny and so many other things but is she really evil on top of it? Does she really want her best friend DEAD?

Chelsea has made it onto my list of Favorite Characters You Love to Hate! So donât get me wrong â just because I hate Chelsea doesnât at all mean I hate the book. I absolutely loved this one (well, not as much as the Lizzie centered ones but still, very much love here!). The writing and narration were excellent. Michelle Madow did a great job creating Chelsea to be such a hate-able character and I loved how Andrea Emmes portrayed Shannonâs creepy great aunt. Gave me chills!

Great Read!

This was a very quick read, but it was amazing none the less. I always love reading from other character's point of view. It adds a little more insight into the series. This book is full of jealousy, which keeps the reader wanting more. It ends in a slight cliffhanger which leaves the reader wanting more.

The Transcend Time Sage can only get better!

A great installment to fill in the time until the final book of this saga.

This short story is more like a bridge between Remembrance and the final book, Timeless which will be released sometime this year. It's Chelsea's POV as she deals with the fact that her boyfriend left her for her best friend. Ouch. Yeah, I am sure some of us have been in her position one time or another.

In this story, Chelsea hates them both, but mostly Lizzie as Chelsea sees it as her best friend stealing the boy Lizzie knew she liked/loved.

I enjoyed the narratorâs voice and really liked the different accents ...

I have had this series on my TBR for quite some time so am excited to be part of the audiobook tour. One thing I find interesting in the way the audiobook is set up, is it is basically all 3 books in one. But, that makes it hard to tell where one book will end and the next will begin until you get to that point as the Audible file doesnât break it into separate books in the visual chapter menu.

I enjoyed the narratorâs voice and really liked the different accents and voices she gave to each character. I am definitely a fan of this type of narration, as it helps get into each character separately. The pacing and tone was enjoyable and this was definitely a good commute to work listen.

The story unfolds as our main character Lizzie meets Drew and begins to get flashes of their past life together. Piece by piece she gets the information she needs to believe what is happening and begin to understand her situation. I liked the way the story unfolded, and how she didnât remember it all right away but only got the glimpses as they mirrored the actions of present day.

What got a bit less enjoyable was the high school double love triangle drama. Lizzie already has a long-time boyfriend. Then she meets Drew, who starts dating her best friend. Iâm so not into double love triangle drama so that kind of got a few eye rolls from me as it unfolded.

Now, I would love to see some illustrations of the drawings Lizzie made. I want to see the dress she wore to the Halloween dance, and the dress she remembers at the ball. Iâm glad the book covers show the masks because I was so curious to see those as intricately and beautifully they were described.

This book ends well, but you know something bad must be lurking, so Iâm curious to finish the rest. A good, overall enjoyable listen. And finally gets me some books on my #shelflove challenge.

I believe

Meeting the person I'm supposed to be with has been my dream my whole life. I'm not a young adult but I enjoy reading the young adult novels. They are so full of angst and love and joy. Yes, they also have tears, anger, and hurt. But that's life. Especially for a young adult. I remember. Unfortunately I missed that special person in this life but I'm hopeful for the next life. The story of Lizzie and Drew had all the things that young adults go through and I laughed and cried and found hope. Good work Michelle. I can't wait to read more of your writing.

Teen/YA Supernatural Fantasy with a Djinn!

I love this genre and the story was outstanding! The main character is strong and independent with tragedy striking her at the beginning of the book. I loved the mystery and intrigue. Everything going on kept me on my feet and guessing. This was a book I wanted to read straight through.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

The characters were well developed and the story was even better than expected. I'm not familiar with Djinn's stories but this story was very good and kept me interested all the way to the conclusion.

I'm really looking forward to her next book.

Good book. Feels like a retelling of loved fairytales. I don't think it is that but just has that vibe. I have followed Ingrid on social media for a while and knew I was overdue on reading her work. I'm so glad I did. This will not be my last.

Wowreally enjoyed this book. I was really looking forward to it and wasn't disappointed at all. This is a creative, original, well written story with a great cast of characters. It pulled me in immediately and held my complete attention from start to finish. It's one of those stories that you will listen to repeatedly just because it's a really good story. It's definitley worth your time and credit.

Even though it's listed as Teen I would put it more as Young Adult/New Adult Marielle is 19, even though Feris is over 2500 yrs old he appears/states he and Marielle are about the same age in the story and there is a connection between them and their feelings/romance will only continue to grow.

You know if there is a Djinn involved you are going to need to be cautious. Feris is not the typical Jinn you would first envision in your mind. I never thought about it before but how does a Jinn become a Jinn in the first place? It's a question that has a interesting and "believable" explanation in this story.

If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be? There is a lot more going on than just granting 3 wishes. Marielle is thrown into a world of magic that is full mystery, intrigue and danger. There are rules and Feris needs to follow them.

This book was weak compared to the author's other. But the Narrator really killed it. Painstakingly slow and overacted. Each sentence from the main character ending in a question. Very hard to listen to.

I read a lot of books and rarely leave a review. This book deserved a review.

The characters were well developed and the story line entertaining--Cinderella like. There were twists and turns and surprises. I won't give details as I don't want to spoil anything for the reader. Basically, you have in me giving a 5 star review of a book and took the time to do so.

Why did it end....

It's been a while since I have read a Samantha Young book. Although it was very different from her Dublin series being more YA it was a good read. I love how Young writes characters they are well developed. I'm not necessarily a fan of how it ended, it felt incomplete. I am assuming this is because there will be another book to follow or at least I hope.

Good attempt, but lackluster writing.

I am by no means a literary critic, but I felt that this novel was very forced. The story line had so much potential, but the characters lacked the depth that i think the author intended. The story read very jumpy and conflicts were resolved as quickly as they were introduced.

Great characters which were well developed. Believable drama without everything turning out perfectly. Iâll be looking forward to other books by this author.

Sweet!

Really enjoyed this book. It is ver sweet and clean and it would be a good read for young teens and older readers like me who enjoys YA.

I liked the narrator's voice, but she was slow at at times, and there were quite a few pauses and I could hear her breathing sometimes.

I think the narration just needed a little "cleaning up" but overall a great book. I recommend it.

I really enjoyed the narrator's voice. She sounded like I wanted Liza to sound like in my mind!

Yes, it made me very unproductive because I couldn't stop listening! :)

I'm a sucker for first love stories, as well as sports-related stories, so this was perfect for me! I was actually bummed when it was over, the true sign of a good book!

Would you consider the audio edition of Gold Rush to be better than the print version?

Jennifer Comeaux has done it again with Gold Rush! I'm such a huge fan of her work as I've also listened to (audiobook version) and loved her novels Crossing the Ice and Losing the Ice. Emily Stokes narrates all three of these novels, and I can relax and let her voice carry me away from my stress. She is an excellent choice to read these stories.

What did you like best about this story?

Comeaux really does her research for competitive skating. If I didn't already know she's a huge fan, I'd think she was an Olympic ice skater herself. Her stories reflect her passion and depth of knowledge for the sport. I feel like I know so much about the world of ice skating and what goes on behind the scenes with all of the blood, sweat and tears Comeaux's characters shed to put their all into their performances.

Which character as performed by Emily Stokes was your favorite?

Liza and Braden are adorable together. There's no getting around that! They don't play games but communicate openly and honestly, and that was refreshing to read. It's also a very realistic portrayal of a young girl who wants to accomplish her Olympic dreams but also wants to make time for "normal" teenager things like dating.

An entertaining read but more supernatural action please!

I have to qualify my review by saying I'm about 30 years older than the target audience for this book. I like to read a lot of YA for the fresh, imaginative, perspectives and action. This was a fun quick read with angels, demons, faeries and werewolves. It made me think of Twilight and other similar books. It was entertaining and fast-paced, but I found it frustrating that the main character, Zoe, after finding out that angels, demons and god exist, and that she might be an angel herself, could be concerned about what clothes to wear to a party. Most people would be blown away when finding out the answer to life, the universe and everything (and that it's not 42). There was far too much time spent on high school life and preoccupation with clothes and boyfriends. I did like the action sequences especially the big one at the end. I am going to read book two, because I want to find out what happens and I like the author's writing style. This series has great potential if there is more emphasis on the supernatural aspects and the action, and less on the clothes, hair and boys.

Swords & Stilettos

I did not enjoy this book as much as the prequel novella that was published after, Arrows & Angels. It feels like the author changed Kieranâs personality somewhat between the two stories, and that doesnât sit well. The prequel felt like a more mature read, while this book came from a very teenage place. I donât think I like Zoe. Sheâs a kind and good-hearted person, but she doesnât seem to have a lot of common sense. Iâm not sure how someone with her lack of focus can keep it together long enough to save the world. The end of life as we know it is on the line with salvation in the hands of an untrained teenage girl, and what does that girl want to do? She wants to go shopping for prom dresses. âI just want to be a normal teenage girlâ. Well, honey, that ship has sailed; youâre the chosen one, so suck it up and learn how to fight. Zoe is described over and over again as someone who cares more about others than herself, and yet sheâs doing nothing to learn how to protect anyone, including herself. It just doesnât make sense to me.
