"[A] battle royal to decide Earth's fate is in prospect. Plenty of well orchestrated maneuvers and action." (Kirkus Reviews)
    Members Reviews:
    Not a typical Berserker book...
If you like repetative, vague, "blow-by-blow" descriptions of poorly formulated space battles, you'll love this addition to the Berserker Saga. Although there are several promising and interwoven human stories they are never fully developed and seen to be allowed to expire from neglect once some minimum word count was reached.
Instead of focusing on the human dramas like most of the Berserker books this trys to simulate the space battles of StarWars and StarTrek... and totally fails. Two starship fleets that can bearly see each other lobbing nukes back and forth is not exciting reading. Sorry but a can't recommend this book...
"Berserker: Beginning" and "Berserker Man" ar much better.
    Tedious
Two pages of transparent plot smeared over a mountain of senseless description. A thinly disguised WWII documentary reworked as science fiction. A long long tiring monotonic listen.

Up in the air...the good guys are there....................
I didn't realize these books were about WW "III". What a fun series! Our "Wingman" doesn't have to win the fight alone...he has wonderful friends who stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him to face the enemy. I read the 17 books in order which helped keep the story running logically. Reading them any other way could be awfully confusing. Exciting doesn't begin to describe these books. Okay, so it's obviously fiction (science fiction might be a better word) and way out there but Mack Maloney knows how to drive your imagination wild. I sure routed for the Wingman (and friends) and they never disappoint. He's not super human just smart, talented to the extreme and a bit crazy. But for some reason he makes things work. He's not handed all the answers and watching him figure out what to do next actually makes these books almost believable. Military strategy comes in to play at every turn. Having him on our side to win each battle makes me proud to be an American! Watch the sky...the good guys are here! I hope book 18 is right around the corner. I can't wait to see what happens next.
    Wingman Series # 16
Rated two stars. I have read 15 books in this series that I rated 4 and 5 stars, but this one # 16 just did not connect and was boring. I kept putting it down and reading little bits hoping it would turn around. The series is out of gas and I am not sure I want to read the final couple of books although I do want to see what happens to the main character Hawk Hunter.
    Five Stars
Just a fun read where the good guys blast the crap outta the bad guys.
    Great Book
I loved all the Wingman Books. The last part of this book lost me. Where did she and he go? Does he find her again? What an ending.
Mack got a bit far fetched in the last two but all the rest were great.
I finally got the entire series and have read them all. Mack got a bit far fetched in the last two but all the rest were great.

half of the book is missing
I own the physical copy of this book and am dismayed that at least half of the book is actually missing. The missing portion of the book is a recounting of the events durring WWIII that led up to the destruction of America, i dont understand why the meat of the book was cut from the reading and i am very saddened by this

    Five Stars
    A great story!
    Good, But
This is just one edition in the Wingman series. The armies of a band of conquering neo-nazis are posed to take over what is left of the former united states of America. First they have to stop in central America. Into this mess flies Hawk Hunter, always resiliant in his F-16 he flies though a post apocalyptic.
There is, of course one problem Hawk Hunter does all of this HIMSELF!! He dopes though the world and of all enemies he runs across with the help of allies he just happens to run into.
The Deathlands has a group of 9. Ben Raines and his rebels have an entire army, Hawk does it all himself, it is at times pointless.
Overall-Read only if you really REALLY like Hawk Hunter.
Incredible book that would make a great movie!!
An incredible book that draws the reader into the war-torn world of Hawk Hunter as he races to free the Panama Canal from the clutches of the Nazis. This is a must read book for people who love war novels!

    OK
Like many short story collections it's hit-or-miss. Most of these don't really have anything to do with the League of Peoples novels, though a couple take place in the same universe at least. The novels are better.
This is the first set of books I've read on my tablets-reader and the experience and great stories made it easy
I have long ben a Fan of James Allen Gardner's - Military - Alt-history League of Peoples hard Sci-Fi. This is the first set of books I've read on my tablets-reader and the experience and great stories made it easy. Interestingly, unlike others of my favorite Sci-Fi authors Gardner's books each take you into different and rivieting plot situation and only a few of the characters stream though the series. Where's a new one?!?
Good read! Loved the League of People stories
Good read! Loved the League of People stories.
    some good stories, some filler
If you enjoy Gardner's novels, about half of the stories here are solid additions to them. The other half, not so much.
    boring...boring...boring
the stories are not what you called good nor imaginative. do not waste your money.

    Another Very Good Book
    Excellent tale! Really enjoyed it!
    great series
i love these colony books.the bad thing is i read em to fast and then have to wait for the next one.
    Good story Bad Grammer
The characters are interesting and the idea of a 100 year old colony ship traveling to the stars is compelling as is the sad state of the earth. It is a good sequel to the first book but here are many places where the grammar really detracts from the story. A little proofing would go a long way!
great ideas and possibilities but no editing
As I have said about others in the series; great ideas and possibilities but no editing. That completely spoils the book. Every page contains mistakes, either in grammar or punctuation and typos are very common. It ruined a series that had great potential and a good story teller but if you cannot trust the words it is no fun. I read two books in the series and then gave up. Please Amazon; pay an editor.

    Publisher's Summary:
If your fate has already been chosen for you, would you change it?
Fifteen-year-old Arena Power blindly accepts her destiny in a world filled with tragedy, chaos, and a lingering wickedness that will tempt every man's soul until the last days on Earth. In the United States in the year 2053, America, like most of the world, has undergone catastrophic earthquakes, famine, and an economic collapse, which have rendered the nation hopeless. It has turned to other nations, like Russia and China, to help restore what was once a world power. Unfortunately, the new America has grossly caused civil unrest that will eventually be the precursor to a much bigger war of biblical proportions.
Orphaned at the age of nine, Arena and her twin brother, Gabe, have learned to rely on each other through the toughest times. Not only do they share the same birthday and the tragic loss of their parents, but they both have birthmarks on the backs of their necks in the shape of a crucifix. This is but a small sign of the destiny that will follow.
On their 15th birthday, they receive a mystery letter and key from their estranged uncle Finnegan. This key will unlock their fate, and it will be up to a priest who has vowed to protect them since birth to unfold the layers of their destiny - to undo the evil that has spoiled the world and to help unleash God's wrath upon those who have turned from him in the last days of history.
Last Light Falling weaves righteousness with evil, treachery with truth, and shows just how far the will of man can survive on faith alone. Arena and Gabriel's fate will determine a course of history that has already been written. They were not born to save the world; they were chosen to prepare it for the final days.
