Good serial set of action novels
This has been an enjoyable series of books to read. It is definitely bordering on science fiction in some elements. I bought the entire series one time when Amazon was selling the Kindle version for $1 per book. I was able to purchase all 17 books for 17 dollars. The books have varied around the globe for different geographies and different adversaries. These are the kinds of stories that you can read day after day or if you have to step away for a few weeks you can come back to them like a comfortable pair of shoes.
Good read and enjoyable for action/military
Adventure, action and edge of your seat story that is from the far side of reality. Good read and enjoyable for action/military junkies
    Five Stars
Just a fun read where the good guys blast the crap outta the bad guys.
Lots of Action, but plot is getting far fetched
I have really enjoyed the first 11 books, but the plot started getting far fetched in number 12 and keeps going that way with 13.
There is lots of realistic action and some so not realistic.
I am disappointed that Mr. Maloney is taking the series into the sci-fi realm.
    Five Stars
I've read this series many times, since I was a young man

I have enjoyed this series when I was able to get it ...
I have enjoyed this series when I was able to get it in paperback. With my tablet, it is even better!
Enjoyed it but disappointed all the same
I have thoroughly enjoyed the eleven books that preceded this one, but I was disappointed that this book took a sci-fi turn when there was no need. There were also a lot of unexplained events that are unbelievable without explanation.
I hope #13 gets us back on track, getting the world back on track.
    Five Stars
I like all the Wingman books
    Hawk Hunter to the Rescue
If you like the Wingman style action, you will like this book. The challenges never stop coming for Hawk and his fearless team. In the end, they always triumph to fight again in the next book.

One man's crash is another man's treasure.
"Blackjack, this is Scarecrow. I finally found it. We're going to be rich."
Carl Ramsey gets a comm from an old squadron mate with a lead on the salvage of a lifetime: an ARGO battleship. The ENV Odysseus doesn't just represent more money than the Mobius crew has ever seen, it could provide answers on what became of the last ship Carl ever served aboard during his time in the navy.
But experimental battleships don't just fall from the sky, and the Mobius will have to overcome whatever caused the Odysseus to crash in the first place. On an uncharted moon outside ARGO controlled space, Carl and the crew will have to contend not only with local wildlife and warring factions among the survivors, but a mysterious magical effect that renders technology inert.
With the Mobius unable to fly and more potential peril than profit, can Carl bring himself to pull the plug on the salvage plan and just find a way to escape? Of course not. It's time to double down, double cross, and find a way to still get rich. Because some treasures just might be worth dying for.
Moon of Odysseus is the eighth mission of Black Ocean, a science fantasy series set in the 26th century. Do you wish there had been a second season of Firefly? Do you love the irreverent fun of Guardians of the Galaxy? Have you ever wondered how Star Wars would have turned out if Luke and Obi-wan had ditched the rebellion to become smugglers with Han and Chewie? Then Black Ocean is the series for you!
Pick up your copy of Moon of Odysseus, and join the hunt for the biggest score the Mobius has ever made!

    Great teaser
This was a good book just way too short. This would make a great mini series for TV.
    Wow...what if this really happened!
If you could sum up The Quiet in three words, what would they be?
    Attention holding story!
What did you like best about this story?
That it had intense moments and just when you thought it would come back down you are hit with another intense moment.
Which character as performed by R E Lamoureux was your favorite?
Oh wow...she did great on all...don't think I could pick just one as they were all unique. Her narration between characters pulls you in especially when she is speaking low until WHAM...she builds into the next climatic event or " transforms" back into one of the characters. Well done.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Seriously had hair raising on the back of my neck throughout the story that at one point as the climax was building yet again, my neighbor knocked on my door...oh man...they heard me across the street.
    Any additional comments?
This was my first audio book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I intend to seek out the other works by Robert S. Wilson and narrator RE Lamoureux.
Love the story - wish it was longer
If you could sum up The Quiet in three words, what would they be?
    Apocalyptic short story
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Quiet?
Love the opening - paints a good picture of a world gone quiet
What about R E Lamoureuxs performance did you like?
I thought his voice was really soothing. Would definitely listen to more books read by him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's a short book, so listening to it from start to finish would be best

    Publisher's Summary:
Kurt Brubacher relates a rich history of the giant Empire he serves and the story of its greatest hero. In his own right, Kurt has reached a pinnacle. As Inspector General, he commands an investigative and intelligence force equal to no other in the realm, giving him possession of the information and confidences that comprise the tale.
This is the account of George Bryant, probably the greatest hero of Kurt's generation, expressing his adventures, successes, and devotion to Marie, his one true love. George is a man of deep loyalties - to Marie, his subordinates, and the Emperor he serves with devotion. He is a leader of deep feelings, strong convictions, and impeccable ethics, with a tactical genius that permits him to wage war on a massive scale. He'll do anything to defend the people and institutions he cherishes.
George and Marie wed in a ceremony equaled by no other to that moment in time - a true Royal wedding. Ten years and two wars later, two other ceremonies exceed its grandeur, a testament to the depths the Emperor will descend to gain a strategic advantage.
A host of other lives cross his path and intertwine with his story, including Kurt's own. In one way or another, they all owe Admiral Bryant for their own successes, often achieved on his coattails. But, through this complex tale is another of a conflicted Emperor, and Tom McCracken, a historical legend, now referred to affectionately as Old Tom by the masses.
But after years of peace, security, and happiness throughout the Empire, there is suddenly rebellion. As Kurt becomes a strategic pawn, he discovers the shocking details of who is actually behind the revolution.

    Poor Production
volume changes, inconsistent tone of narrator, you can easily tell when a section has been over dubbed
Worst book i've met in a long time
I gave up in the second chapter. Perhaps the novel starts with a badly signalled perspective from a muppet character, but I think otherwise. Factual errors, characters more wooden as Sherwood Forest, and hissy audio, have all put me off. So far, the book is about as subtle as a fart, about as sophisticated as a fart joke.

Starts of great and only gets better!
As a biology graduate student studying sea spiders (or pycnogonids), I am a huge fan of science fiction and monster movies, but this was the first science fiction novel I have ever finished. The science and compelling story line really had me hooked from the first description of the sea spider and its emotions. The suspense and entertainment this book provides makes it an excellent choice for anyone interested in the genre. There truly are not enough books based on weird and obscure sea creatures.
Gets off to a good start early on
After a little "story line setup" it gets right into the horror of the creature. I haven't finished the book yet but I am sure I will enjoy the rest of it as much as I have enjoyed what I have already read.
    One Star
    :(
Novel monster and setting, but uneven development
I was really intrigued by the Pycnogonid (sea spider) as the monster and Newfoundland as the setting. It reminded me of the creature features from the '50s when monsters were a product of man's ignorant use of atomic power and often were confronted in unusual regions. "The Atomic Submarine" (chasing a UFO in the Artic) and "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (atomic test releases dinosaur near Greenland) are examples. The ice floe fields, forests, and stone cliffs of Newfoundland offered an interesting (but underused and undervalued) backdrop for the story.
In Spider Legs the theme takes a unique twist. The monster is not an atomic perversion of nature wrecking havoc among its creators as in the movies "THEM" and "The Giant Behemoth". Instead it is a planned mutation intended to take vengeance on an enviromentally ignorant mankind. Where the '50s scientist fought the monster to save the world, Spider Legs has the scientist create the monster to punish the world. Part of the wonder of the '50s was the promise of science to bring a better future, a view that usually put scientists in the role of saviour. Spider Legs reverses the image by pulling its scientist into the role of villain with the world's saviours comprising a team of more common folk (a self-educated fisheries officer and a cop) as well as a scientist.
I credit the uneven delivery to the merger of the two authors' talents on reworking one author's manuscript. The novelty of the monster and the initial chapters of the book laid a great suspenseful groundwork for the rest of the story. The creature rising from the depths to attack the yacht reminded me of Benchley's great white or squid. Yet the rest of the story didn't play off the initial suspense, falling into formulaic segments that didn't quite mesh into a satisfying finish. The romance between the scientist and cop was amusing, but predictable. The physical deformity of the brother-sister characters was unique, but seemed not so much integral to the story as intended to add a touch of the grotesque. That the sister was a martial artist didn't sync with her antisocial attitudes.

Just not my cup of tea
What disappointed you about Fall From Earth?
Not enough action, I could not get interested in the characters
What could Matthew Johnson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Art is subjective, I love Van Gogh but I hate Picasso. I'm just into more fantasy, some action, some humor, and escape reality. His story sounds to much like my job.
What didnt you like about Emma Newmans performance?
    clear monotone
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    it was short
    Any additional comments?
    nope
    Enjoyable
An easy listen with an interesting and predictable plot. Not heavy Science Fiction, more a story set in a future world. That said, it is not a future fantasy 'opera' either.
