    A delightful travel log
This is a lovely, meandering account of Dr. D.'s adventures in the south Atlantic. Not exactly action-packed, but full of wonderfully quirky details. The reader does a fine job with the animal voices, although some of the language and accents may be difficult for very young listeners.
    Difficult to understand
My children have repeatedly listened to the Story of Doctor Dolittle and have found it very easy to follow (age range 4-7). Nadia Mays has a very delightful, warm, and crisp presentation. However, this narrator has a very "gravelly" voice, which makes his words difficult to understand. My children can't follow it at all, despite my attempts to present it to them on numerous occasions. This is unfortunate, because this book is intended for a younger audience.
    what a great story
great narration interesting story worth the time for a listen even if you have no children

Excellent, well researched, fun , interesting and great value for money
    What I liked about MTH
I liked the fact that it was a brother and a sister going on an adventure in a magical treehouse that can take anywhere you want to go
    Chapters don't line up
The reading is good. However, the chapter divisions don't correspond to the chapters in the book.

    Adults Take on Charlie Bone
I read a lot of this genre, having a seven year old son who loves mystical, fantastical tales (Harry Potter, Dragon Rider, Eragorn) and I have to say that I enjoyed book better then most. It has the right amount of suspense and magic for the age group but also has one thing that I am partial to; hope.
I have been yearning to find a children's novel of this calibre that provides it's readers with something to look forward to in the next book, not dark forbodings but enthusiastic hope for the future.
Charlie also has the support of a family unit which also seems to be missing from other books. This helps my son associate with the character in a more substantial way.
All in all one of the best finds on Audible, the narration is superb and easily followed by children.
The Children of the Red King #1
I hope that audible takes a notion to tell us the order of these books, and to link them together. Just so you know, this is book #1 and a great begining to this authorverse.
    harry potter reinvented
This is a very fun listen for both kids and adults, and I can't wait for Audible to get the next books! However, while these books are indeed somewhat like Harry Potter in spirit, don't expect them to be exactly like Harry Potter - the plot here is a little slower, while the writing and characters are more complex. So in some ways, they are more enjoyable, while in other ways, they are a bit less of a "page turner" :). All in all, if you liked Harry, you are likely to very much enjoy this book.
    i love it!
This book is full of fascination and mystery. Everytime i stop reading i just can't wait to continue. Midnight for Charlie Bone is really a Cliffhangar at the end. All my friends who have read it think it's also rated 5 stars!
    It was fascinating!
I really loved this story. It was fast passed and fascinating. I liked that author's imagination and reader was very good. I can't wait to introduce my neices and nephews to Charlie Bone!

    Wonderful!
What made the experience of listening to The Enchanted Castle the most enjoyable?
Just loved this book and the narration is wonderful. My 5 and 7 year old children enjoyed this book.
    Enchanted Castle fun and fast
EE Nesbit's turn of the century novel revolves about 4 kids who have stumbled onto a powerful talisman. The ring is understood to grant wishes to the bearer. Hijinks surround all of the characters at one time or other and always add to entertainment value.
The four children and the French governess have their characters developed the most. Kind of reminded me of old Steven King's Stand By Me movie.
    Beautiful!
Very imaginative! Beautiful imagery that paints vivid mental pictures! The ending ties everything together beautifully.
    Well written. Well read. Enchanting!
If you want a book to help you escape for a time, this is it.
    An E Nesbit classic!
performance is exceptional! the characters come alive with Johanna ward's excellent narration. worth every penny

Still works for today's kids--even boys!
It's hard to find good audiobooks for kids 5-7 years old. Picture books don't work on audio, and most chapter books are still a little hard for them to follow. Pippi Longstocking was already a decades-old book when I read it as a child in the mid 1970's, but my six-year-old son seems to like it just fine. We listened to it in the car on a long family trip, and we all enjoyed it. Pippi's wacky adventures, super strength, defiance of social norms (she doesn't go to school!) and good heart (she protects the weak kids from the bullies) apparently have timeless appeal.
A Classic Tale of the Strongest Girl in the World
Known for her bright red pigtails and her super human strenth, Pippi Longstocking is a beloved classic book enjoyed by children and adults alike. You won't believe what she does in her adventures
I especially liked the way Esther Benson narrated the story with giggles,. coughing, and other things used in the dialogue. The Listening Library version of Pippi Longstocking is a must-have for literature lovers.
    It's pretty good.
I kinda like it. I think that you will love it if you are looking for something silly and funny.
Great version of a classic story!
What made the experience of listening to Pippi Longstocking the most enjoyable?
I really like the narrator on this version of Pippi. I also love the fun stories. My children adore them, too.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Pippi Longstocking?
When she makes 500 cookies and Pippi the Thing Finder.
Which character as performed by Esther Benson was your favorite?
    Pippi, of course.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It was a really fun story, with a few serious moments, like the party. Made me remember being a child who didn't fit in.
    Entertaining
Would you try another book from Astrid Lindgren and/or Esther Benson?
Absolutely. My girls fell in love with Pippi after listening to the story. They have gone to the library and checked out more Pippi books.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Since the Pippi books are limited, we may listen to another Trixie Beldon book.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
    n/a
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Pippi Longstocking?
    none
    Any additional comments?
    none

Everything was great (from my 5 year old)
The sad part was some of her parents died and her whole family group died. Everything else was happy. I don't think there are any more bad parts. I guess in would tell other people to listen to this (then she launches into a rap song. That is her dad's influence.)
One of our first "who was" and still a favorite
My 6 year old daughter loves this story. Kevin Pariseau is a great narrator and we wish penguin would hire him again to put more of their "who was" books into audio form.
