Romeo!
In shortâ A great short story!
Suspense hanging in each page, atmosphere of mystery everywhere, and love is in the air.
The suspense started right off the bat. Brooke âranâ away, needing some space to think things through. A new, extremely curious character showed up. Declan, as Declan always was, tenacious yet so patient and understanding. Goodness, I really love Declan. If there was ever a perfect guy, heâs the one. I also loved how Brooke finally able to work things on her own, set her priority right. Itâs about time. I just hope she wouldnât change her mind later.
And, OH, we now knew who Romeo was! Ha!
I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
Yeah Brooke..finally!
Well this was a pleasant short.
Of course, Brooke has stumbled into another murder plot, only this time, Declan may be a casualty. Will she be able to save hi and save herself when it's all said and done?
Well, I've got to say, while I appreciate the additional info on Romeo..I'm getting tired of this storyline..4 books and he's still around.. Brooke was snuck up on..AGAIN. For an agent, she can be sloppy.
This book gave us some clues to Romeos identity and that's great. Brooke is finally ready to really move forward with Declan..Ty and James almost made it to vacation..we're making progress.
Great read! Can't wait to wrap up this Romeo storyline though..
Shot in Darkness
OMG! Another great book by Heather! The plot thickens as Brooke gets closer to finding out who Romeo is. It is unfortunate that Brooke's friend takes a hit! Brooke is finally realizing what she wants in life and that Declan is the man to give it to her. Now Dimitri is an interesting character but he is not in this book too much. He does come to the rescue when Brooke needed it. The action in this book is definitely fast-paced and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think things will calm down, they just escalate to the next level. Also, nothing like leaving a HUGH cliff-hanger. Can't wait for the next book!
Fantastic
Epic!
Well...that packed a powerful punch for a novella.
It was beyond a fast paced wild ride. Every single book in this series gets better and better. Character development, fresh new twists every time. This book kept me holding my breath, love the conclusions that Brooke came to about Declan. And I can't wait to see what's next, I must say I'm looking forward to Romeo going down in a fiery ball of flames.

Gripping, Twisting, Exciting. I read this author for the Bayou Heat books with a second author and love those, but this is new. I loved it. Once I started it, I kept reading until I was up way past my bedtime and glad it was the weekend.
Good storyline and it had me guessing almost up to the end. I thought it was two others, and then a change in storyline left me asking "if not them, then who?" Recommended for anyone like a thriller and entwined characters, relationships, histories. I can't wait for book #2!
Just.....Wow!!!
Loving this new direction Alexandra is taking with this series, I was a little nervous at first but it is a phenomenal book! It will keep you guessing until the very end. The suspense is off the charts with a dose of romance.
A quick murder mystery read
A serial killer, a woman stalked, a small town sheriff and a man returning to the small town. Who is terrorizing Jaci? Some good suspense, some nice romance and good writing without the need for detailed gruesomeness.
Pretend you're safe
Wow, intense and powerful, full of suspension. Hard to put down. Definitely recommend reading this. You won't be disappointed. Great book.
Good and Creepy
Loved it... kept me guessing till almost the end.

Some Wails About "The Walls"......
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Only the last 2 hours of this book was good. This was a very long book and I truly feel that the author could have deleted a good 3-4 hours from the very beginning of the book. The only reason why I continued to listen to this book was because it received such glowing reviews.
If youve listened to books by Hollie Overton before, how does this one compare?
This is my first Hollie Overton book.
Which character as performed by Therese Plummer was your favorite?
I only liked the main character when she decided to kill her husband.
Did The Walls inspire you to do anything?
My husband sincerely hopes that I was not inspired by anything in this book!
Any additional comments?
The first half of this book was dull and repetitive. I felt like I wasted a good 3-4 hours of my time before the book got traction. For this reason, I can not recommend this book to anyone.
Review

Flawed people
law-enforcement, sicily, murder-investigation
The murder victim was without redeeming value, a real sociopath. He used people without remorse or any thought. The various aspects of his actions unfold as Montalbano and others in the law enforcement agencies dig into the man's life and his victims. There is intentional and unintentional humor to lighten it up a bit, as well as Montalbano's squabbles with his long time girlfriend, and the antics of his coworkers. Well worth the read.
Grover Gardner has perfected just the right delivery for Camilleri's books.
I hate to say it but Salvo is getting old
The ending was predictable from almost the beginning .. I love this series and have every book. I absolutely hate Livia who continues to rompere cog lions and this books makes even more insufferable. The worst part was Salvo not seeing the criminal until the very end..

Publisher's Summary:
For two FBI agents with a past, love becomes a matter of life and death in the new Hidden Sins novel from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert.
Maggie Gaines used to be an FBI agent - top of her class and one of the bright, up-and-coming stars - until she spectacularly fell apart during her first high-profile case. That was eight years ago. Now she's a ranger at Glacier National Park, and she's found some measure of peace. But when the body of a murdered woman is discovered, she must finally put the past behind her and work with the one man she thought she'd never see again.
For months, Vic Sutherland has been hunting a killer who's been targeting unsuspecting hikers in national parks - and now the predator has come to Glacier. Vic knows the case will bring him face-to-face with his former partner, yet nothing can prepare him for seeing Maggie again after all these years, or for the memories of passion it stirs in both of them.
As the investigation brings them closer together - and closer to the killer - Maggie and Vic fear they have only each other to trust. But even that might not be enough to make it out of Glacier alive.
Members Reviews:
Sweet romantic suspense mystery
This serial murder case is set in Glacier National Park in northern Montana. The protagonists are Maggie, an ex-FBI agent and current park ranger, and Vic, an FBI agent who was Maggie's boss when she worked there. Although the case is about 7 murders committed in national parks, the murder case seems less important in the novel to the growing romantic relationship between Maggie and Vic. There is only one sex scene and it is rather tame. Narrator Carly Robins is excessively exuberant to the point it detracts from the story.
Not a sequal
I read this thinking it was going to follow up The Devils Daughter. It doesnt. It is a good story but shouldnt be titled as a sequel to it.
TERRIBLE NARRATOR
I was really looking forward to listening to this book, however, the narrator was too distracting. She sounded like a high school cheerleader!! I had to get a refund.....listening to the narrator was like listening to nails scratching a chalk board!! Before you purchase, be sure to listen to the sample, something I didn't do but will do in the future!
Great story!
Loved all the twists in this story! Can't wait to read more by Katee Roberts!
Struggle to finish
Good story line but I struggled to finish. Volume on high to hear then narrator would change voice and it was ear piercing.

Beware this is an early story
I rashly thought this was the next instalment of DCI Lorimer - not so - it must be one of the earliest books only just read for audible. A good listen but for someone following the storyline very out of sync.
Introducing Glasgow's DCI Lorimer
Never Somewhere Else by Alex Gray is the first book in the DCI Lorimer series .
A serial murder is at work on the streets of Glasgow. Three young women are found in one of the citys parks.
DCI Lorimer enlists the services of Dr. Solomon Brightman and the chase is on.
Joe Dunlop's reading is monotonous and lacks expression. It makes for a teadious listening.
Loved it
Loved the narrator, he added extra depth to the story. The story kept you gripped all the way through as well. Brilliantly written as always.
Brilliant
Really good scottish book. The way that the author describes glasgow in its dark and light times. You can picture the places as long as you have been to glasgow. Really exciting book
An excellent book
I loved this book, the plot is interesting and complicated enough to keep the reader interested but the relationships between the characters being added depth and interest. This is one of my favourite authors and I love this series of books. I have just listened for a second time and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time.

Publisher's Summary:
June 6, 1944. On the dawn of the D-Day invasion of Normandy, two snipers find themselves fighting a battle all their own. One is a backwoods hunter from the Appalachian Mountains in the American South, while the other is the dreaded German "Ghost Sniper" who earned his nickname on the Eastern Front. Locked in a deadly duel across the hedgerow country of France, the hunter matches wits and tactics against the marksman, both of them one bullet away from victory or defeat as Allied forces struggle to gain a foothold in Europe.
Members Reviews:
Thrilling WWII sniper story
Ghost Sniper is a fascinating tale of the liberation of Normandy in 1944. Told from alternating POV's, both allied and German, the horror of war and the nature of the sniper comes through clear in both the narrator's voice and the author's writing. This is not a dry retelling of history or a gung-ho unrealistic war story, it is an exciting cat and mouse tale of predator vs predator. Need, and skills gained hunting in his mountainous home, placed Micajah Cole as the best sniper in an eclectic team of American soldiers. When they cross paths with an infamous German sniper, who is reeking havoc on the allied soldiers, it becomes a fight as to who will kill who first. The narrator brings out the suspense and individuality of the characters well and nails the different accents excellently. This is a thrilling story with suspense, humour, and some great characters. I liked that the author gave the book a somewhat open end, in war and real life things are not always wrapped up nice and neat and it left an opening for more sniper face offs in the next book.
Suspenseful, kept me engaged during the listen
Sniper battles are more strategic than tactical and have been compared many times to chess matches. You have to think several steps ahead in the battle of wits against another sniper. And that is what this book is really about: getting into the heads of two snipers as they hunt each other.
This book reminds me a lot of the movie Enemy At the Gates, featuring a similar sniper showdown between Ed Harris and Jude Law. I see a lot of similarities between Ed Harris' character Major König, and the Von Stainger character in this this book, and I'm wondering if the author used him as inspiration. Which isn't a bad thing. German WWII snipers seemed to have an aristocratic air about them - they knew they were the cream of the crop, and acted accordingly.
This is my first book from David Healey, and other than the nitpick I list in the spoiler paragraph, I found the writing smooth and pleasant to listen to. The book was suspenseful, and kept me engaged during the entire listen. There was however, one inconsistency in the book that's hardly worth mentioning, but I thought I would include it in the review for completeness sake and because it took me out of the story in a "Wait a second" moment. Perhaps the author could edit it for the next version of the book?
A Mauser rifle fell from Wolff's hands after being shot. Von Stainger used that rifle to attach to Fritz' hands. Then later, Cole climbed the tree and retrieved the same rifle from Wolff to train Joline how to shoot. Hence, a re-spawning rifle!
J. Scott Bennett did an amazing job with the narration. His voice is perfect for a storyteller. It's smooth and gentle and doesn't get in the way of the story.

Bought because of RC Bray
Bought because of RC Bray. Nearly broke down in tears because of the ending.
Full disclosure... I am a professional aviator with over 13,000 hrs under my belt. That said I don't normally like aviation related fiction. I usually grit my teeth at liberties taken in such stories to increase the drama factor. I only rolled my eyes once or twice in this story. That is a great credit to the author. The aviation side of the story was descent.
This story has lots of character driven drama outside of the flying which is again a credit to the author.
No spoilers here but the ending had me fighting to hold back the tears. Again a credit to the author who painted a landscape and a cathartic vision and ending. I hope heaven is as grand.
Well done.
Btw RC Bray is a master craftsman.
Excellent!
This is about as close as a novel can get to what helicopter rescue is all about. Written by somebody who had obviously been there and done that. I spent a 27 year Air Force career mostly in Air Force Rescue starting with SB17's and ending with HH-3's and could find no mistakes in his description of helicopter operations.
This was so good I took the brunt of my wife saying get the head phones off!
Bray has no equal in narration. Serving in the Army as a chief warrant officer and medivac pilot, I was amazed the details were spot on. One scene brought tears. Enough said
Promising plot.
The plot had potential. Rc Bray couldn't do a lot with the tortured editing and forced dialogue. Made for daytime TV.

I've listened to all the Gene Doucette books available on Audible, and this one - like the others - didn't disappoint. It was unique - how could anyone come up with a protagonist who lives five seconds in the future? - and quite satisfying. Steve Carlson is an awesome narrator, I cannot imagine a better voice and delivery for this book.
