    Redo needed
Rody McDowell is not a very good book reader and the recording is lower quality than is now routine. The book is pretty good Sheldon.

    I want High resolution!
Good story but the narration was monotone.
How could the performance have been better?
Different dialects/voices for the characters. It was difficult to understand where one character ended and another began.

    Decent story horrible performance
I love dale brown books but I could not get past the poor audio quality and the horrible performance by the audio book reader. Incredibly annoying, he did all these wacky extreme voices that made him hard to understand and the voices distracted from the story.
    poor reader
What disappointed you about Night of the Hawk?
I should know better to buy abridged readings of books I have read. They cut most of the story and it leaves it empty.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Same as when I read it.
Would you be willing to try another one of Joseph Campanellas performances?
    No, It was pathetic
What character would you cut from Night of the Hawk?
    None

GREAT REALLY ENJOYED I LOVE THIS SERIES. FAST EASY FUNNY. JUST WHEN YOU THNK YOU HAVE IT FIGURED OUT SHE THROWS A CURVE. MY KIDS LIKE TO LISTEN TO THEM. WE ACTUALLY SAT IN THE CAR AND ATE SONIC ONE NIGHT WITH THE BOOK PLAYING. GREAT TIME. READY FOR MORE IN THIS SERIES. I'M ON THE LAST ONE NOW. HURRY UP.
Once again, a fun book to listen to
I have to say I have yet to be disappointed by Ms. Laurie. I really enjoy her writing and would recommend her to anyone that enjoys a good ghost story. There is humor and suspense, there is light heartedness and some scare. I enjoyed the new character in this book and I hope he shows up again if this series continues.
LOVED the Abby Cooper Mysteries, but THESE?!?!
This narrator really struggles getting Victoria Laurie...I wish she had listened to Elizabeth Michaels a little before tackling this one. I hardly EVER write negative reviews... I know how much work goes into these books. I learned about Gillie from one of the Abby Cooper stories... he made NO sense, wasn't funny, really just annoying and interruptive. Maybe it's the acting of this character in these books, but it's just the same. Also, this narrator really struggles keeping the flow going, the pauses around "he said, she said" and the overall slow pace. She does have a terrific aptitude for dialects which is really fun and does improve as the story goes on. Victoria Laurie clearly has an amazing knowledge of all things metaphysical. I'm learning a great deal.

    Critic Reviews:
"Reader Holter Graham keeps the listener on the edge, raising expectations and just as quickly dashing them. He has a voice of quiet authority, a voice to trust, a voice you'll want to hear again. The way he seamlessly shifts from Gillette's calm voice to the Australian lilt of his second-in-command or the wheedling tones of traitor David Wright is inspiring. This is a blue chip winner." (

    Good Listen
I like this series, it is entertaining and unique.
Too many holes in this story
There were just way too many unbelievable aspects to this story. Things that a Wall Street titan would never do. By the end it was just comical. The whole Allison Wallace storyline is completely out of character to anything the Gillette in the first book would have ever done. That's just one storyline of many. I've been a fan of Frey for a long time but I have serious doubts as to whether he even writes these books anymore.

    Publisher's Summary:
Is speed dating okay when you're in a relationship? It is when you're looking for a killer, especially in Avery Shaw's world.
A naked body has been discovered in the nearby Clinton River, and while Sheriff Jake Farrell is keeping his cards close to his vest, Avery has another avenue of information: Eliot.
It doesn't hurt that the medical examiner seems to have a crush on her - and verbal diarrhea - and she keeps stumbling upon information that propels her ahead of the pack.
Unfortunately for Avery, when she discovers information that no one else has - and she finds herself on top of the media game - she has to make a decision, and that decision is going to tick off everyone she knows.
Between Jake's anger, Eliot's worry, and Grandpa's insistence that you can't force a handicap parking space on a business owner, Avery has her hands full.
Lexie has a new place to live, Carly is adjusting to married life, and Avery is trying to convince the men in her life that she's not in danger, despite all evidence to the contrary.
    Busy week, huh?
In actuality, it's just a normal week for this hard-headed reporter, until someone's eye focuses in on Avery, and she finds herself in real danger, again.
Jake is angry, and Eliot is torn, but Avery has an idea on how to solve the case. The only problem is, when all is said and done, someone is going to be shot... and Avery is going to regret every move she's made on this case when it happens.
Who will survive to see another Avery Shaw catastrophe?

Another winner from Amanda M Lee
Love the attitude in this series! Avery continues to entertain with her antics and love trio. The story is fast paced and leaves you wanting more. Can't wait till the next instalment in Avery's life!
    Preditorial Page A Must Listen
Amanda M Lee's Preditorial Page is a great work of fiction and Angel Clark brings it to life. The narration for this book is fantastic. You can lay back close your eyes and see all the characters come to life. If you are looking for a good book to listen to then you have found it.
    Way to go, Avery!
Wonderful puns, a suspenseful story, and amusing characters made the fifth book a joy to listen to!
Angel Clark did an awesome job, yet again!
    Awesome
Would you listen to The Preditorial Page: Avery Shaw Mystery Book 5 again? Why?
I just couldn't get enough of this audiobook. Avery just can't keep from getting into trouble. Now we have a serial killer that likes blondes with blue eyes and Jake and her boyfriend are trying to keep her alive but almost gets Jake killed in the process. If only she would take orders that were good for her. You will love this. It's always fun to listen to the story and actually have people portray the characters. But even with a killer Avery is just as sarcastic as ever. You'll love it. Audio books gives you the opportunity to listen to it over and over.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. You never knew what was going to happen. You just knew that wherever Avery was, the killer was going to be there.
Have you listened to any of Angel Clarks other performances before? How does this one compare?
I honestly don't know. She did a great job.

    Evolution is our God Awareness.
A great Man with unusual insights.
    Love Irving Stone's historical novels.
This book too, is old but in good shape. Love Irving Stone's historical novels. My book club just read Love is Eternal about Mary Todd Lincoln. All Stones books need to be on Kindle. We must not lose him.
    Superb, Brilliant
He rattled the world...turned it upside down.
With his 1859 publication âThe Origin of Speciesâ, Charles Darwin put the learned world into a tailspin. His theories on evolution, survival of the fittest, etc. began a civil war between the church, scientists and others...still goes on today...over a hundred-fifty years later.
Irving Stoneâs historical novel on Darwin leaves no stone unturned. You are Darwin!
Whether it is as a little boy collecting beetles in the countryside, circumnavigating the world on the H.M.S. Beagle as their naturalist, publishing books and monographs on any number of natural causes and effects, to his also controversial âDescent of Manâ publication.
With Stoneâs keen sense of writing style, the reader has an inner connection to Darwinâs immediate circle of family and friends, as well as his adversaries.
Although a lengthy read of over 760 pages, still compelling and first-rate.
    A magnificent saga
This book is a wonderful, absorbing saga that gets you caught up in the details and chapters of Darwin's life. It's almost as if no stone is left unturned in the story -- we are there as it happens, experiencing it as Darwin did. You will thrill to young Darwin's adventures and heartaches, and marvel at his brilliant, meticulous mind and at the unexpected turns of his adulthood. A word of caution: This is a long-winded book, so be prepared for a leisurely ride, especially as the set-up is explicated in the first chapter -- his family's members, home, setting, background. If you enjoy great writing and exquisitely researched biographies, this book is for you. If you want a quickie biography of Darwin, seek somewhere else.

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 19 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-01-16
    Publisher: David Archer
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 27 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Sam Prichard doesn't usually see ghosts, despite his mother-in-law and her hallucinatory friend, Beauregard. However, when a man is murdered right in front of him, Sam doesn't forget a face, and when he sees that face again in an extremely embarrassing situation, he can't help but wonder what's going on. How could the dead man and his doppelgänger be connected to Sam's latest case, proving a client innocent of murdering his best friend? Some people think Sam has gone to the dogs over this one, because that's exactly who he has to go to for help to solve not just one murder but two. It's the wildest and craziest case Sam has ever been involved in, and the big question might be whether he will even survive.
    Members Reviews:
Another strong addition to the Sam Pritchard series...
When I think of David Archer I think of "family friendly" books. This book does not change my view. Generally the curse words are kept at a minimum and if you asked me, I don't know if I could say if there are any in this book.
This is a good mystery. Sam and his wife are driving, a man runs out in front of his car and a second later is shot in the head. Jump ahead a few weeks and Sam sees him again- alive. It's an interesting story with Excellent narration by Mikael Naramore. One thing I get a kick out of is in a few of the Sam Pritchard books, since Sam is in a band, he often will sing one of his new songs with just an acoustic guitar to accompany him. Who is doing the singing? That's what I want to know because it sure doesn't sound like M Naramore but the person isn't given credit for his performance.
Anyway the book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
If you found this review helpful please indicate so.
    Thank You.
Beauregard says Sam Prichard's 2 cases are related
He was right! Beauregard is the hallucinatory friend/ghost who speaks to Sam Prichard's mother-in-law. Ghost is Book 10 in David Archer's detective/musician Sam Prichard series. Most novels in the series have original songs written by the author. These family friendly suspense thrillers deserve a larger audience than they have. The audio novels are short averaging 5 hours, but this one is 3 hours 19 minutes. Narrator Mikael Naramore does a wonderful job.

    Members Reviews:
Very good detective story and "clean."
What made the experience of listening to Silent Justice the most enjoyable?
I grew up on Sherlock Holmes, Dasheill Hammett and many other classic detective stories and I love the genre. Problem with most "modern" detective stories is they throw in a lot of foul language and gratuitous sex for no apparent reason...rating, I guess. This is a great story without any of that unnecessary stuff. Reminds me of my favorite TV show..CASTLE.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Justice?
When the killer is about to get his last victim and then, suddenly.......ah..you got to get the book for that. :)
Have you listened to any of James Killaveys other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have. He's good and did not disappoint here.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did...one driving trip. Planning to get the next one for my next trip.
    Any additional comments?
Nope...good book...hopefully there will be many more in the series.
    Nice little cop story
this is a good little story. Well developed overall, believable as well. It was not easy to who the guilty party was. The one thing that always bothers me with Jason strong stories is it it is as if he does not have any link back to dispatch. As if he has to try and solve everything then when he can't at that time he called for backup or other patrolman. That should be done immediately as somebody is on their way. But other than that it actually is really good.
    Outstanding modern detective suspense novel
Silent Justice is Book 4 in the 14 novel (to date) Jason Strong Detective series. The series is set in San Antonio. These novels are short (average of 4 hours) and they are appropriately priced. I enjoyed this story which has a great twist and I recommend it.
    If possiable read the book.
Is there anything you would change about this book?
For some reason reading these books that are the Strong series you get alot more out of it. I won't buy a audible one again, but i already got the 5th and i think the 6th on my kindel to read.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Justice?
    i can't remember.
What didnt you like about James Killaveys performance?
he just wasn't good. Ruined the whole story, i think it was the way he did the characters.
Was Silent Justice worth the listening time?
    no
    Any additional comments?
    NO
