I Have become very interested in the possibility of full time RV living after I convinced my husband and received a certain amount of money from my separation fee. I have read over a dozen books describing RV-ing and the RV lifestyle, this book is one of the most thorough, best written books available. Jonathan has packed this book with real world examples and data, he has salted in enough to keep it interesting. You can't go wrong listening this book.

A Complete Guide

Well written and all the informations you need. Loved the maps and restaurants recomendations.

I will use lonely planets guides again!

Best for beginners....

I found this book lacking was in maps and directions for city walking tours. I am usually a good map reader and always carry a audio travel book in European cities to follow suggested walking tours. However, we tried to use the maps for walking in Lisbon and Porto but found them somewhat useless. We needed to use google maps to navigate our way around.

BEST AUDIO BOOK....

This book was good for general background about the country and general travel planning tips. The restaurant tips were helpful and we found several good spots through the book (we always double check with the internet since restaurants can go out of business between printings).

A True Adventure by a True Adventurer

Adventures done by true adventurers are rare these days.

Rarer still, is an excellent written account of just such a man and just such an adventure.

If you have ever done anything like this you find a true kindred spirit in Scott B. Williams.

If you haven't, you'll quickly become immersed in the journey in all its many and well written details.

I found myself feeling like I was a guy in the number two hatch on a twin seated sea kayak, so real and so vivid is the story telling art of Scott. He really does make it all come alive in a wonderful and captivating manner.

Do yourself a large favor and catch a little "Island Time" with Scott and ride thru this adventure with him.

I have read many of Scott's books and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Pick out and pick up anything by Scott and you'll be in for a real treat.

Great stuff. Scott is a true adventurer in the classic tradition, and a great writer to boot!

Good Story. Easy Read.

This is a nice story about a twenty-five year old man, Scott Williams, who is not ready to settle for his nine-to-five corporate job. On a favorite kayak trip with his brother, Scott hatches a plan to paddle from his home area of Mississippi through the Bahamas and Virgin Islands and on through the Caribbean, eventually reaching South America.

Like so many romantics before him, Scott quits his job and sells everything he owns to scrape together the money he will need to sustain him for an unspecified length of time. With no experience in paddling big water, he chooses the wrong kayak. He immediately blows out a waterproof bulkhead in his plastic sea kayak the first time he gets into big water on the Gulf. He manages to get to shore before his boat sinks.

I am a traveler and Netherlands is one of my dreams, I would never like to be neverland it on my travel list and so here I am preparing myself to go there. The book was enticing as I felt I already went there by its detailed writings. Good guidelines and topics were covered.

Several typos and really not much information that I found useful. Rick Steves Amsterdam & the Netherlands had what I was looking for.

Oh, I found thistravel guidebookso helpful and after finishing the entire read of this book I was so pleased. Actually I will need to go Germany soon and for the sake of knowing more about that city I picked this book two weeks ago. Interesting for the journey

I think I might prefer it in print. I enjoyed the story overall and I feel it was well written but the narration throws me a bit. It's not bad narration by the author but it doesnt add to it for me. I got kind of sick of the voice and bland telling but there is still something special about the author telling their own story.
